  1. DM/Inv is also very strong so I'm surprised it's not on your list.

DM requires a ton of recharge to maximize its attacks so I'd stay away from DM/SA since Granite's debuff is somewhat counter-productive.
  2. Stone Melee's attacks have higher endurance costs so be sure to slot end redux heavily if you choose to go with Stone Melee.
  3. Slot Parry with Touch of Death and move the 6% Kismet unique to Phalanx Fighting and you will be at the cap.

I also recommend dropping Focused Accuracy for Conserve Power since all of BS's attacks have a -Def component and because FA is pretty bad for how much endurance it costs to run.

Very nice Nicro. I may "borrow" from that....

By the way, something is messed up with my Mid's in calculating regen I think.... I get 200% more regen opening some builds than others, which just can't be right. Must be something to do with RttC number of foes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You need to 'turn on' Fast Healing and Health. Your build doesn't have Fast Healing on when I opened it up. Also your regen powers are somewhat underslotted comparatively so that could explain the rest of the difference you are seeing since your global regen bonus is only about 20% less than mine.

I highly recommend frankenslotting Siphon Life. The enhancement bonuses are significantly more important than set bonuses for this power. For example, slotting for the heal can add 150HP/3 seconds or about 500% regen. That's about as much as a fully saturated RttC provides. 3 common Heal IOs can provide nearly as much regen bonus as your entire secondary when fully saturated. It's just scary how good this power is so be sure to get the most out of it.
  6. DM/SD is very good, but it can get expensive so unless you plan on making an investment in the toon I'd recommend going for a mix of the two options and choose DM/SR.

Here's another build you can use as a data point for comparison.

I'm still tinkering around with getting the optimal slotting for Siphon Life, but I think my current slotting is rather close.

  8. I use Havoc Punch, Jacob's Ladder, and Dark Blast for my attack chain, sprinkling in AS when Placate comes up. It's gapless for me, but I'm also using Hasten.
  9. I think Hover and Fly received a speed boost in the latest patch so it's probably easier to move around now.
  10. You're thinking about Dark Regeneration. Just slot Dark Consumption for recharge it will be able to fill your whole bar every minute which is more than enough for what you will need.
  11. Have you played this guy yet? or is this going to be a new toon?
  12. As long as they name the last one "Plaid" I'll be happy.
  13. I've had success soloing AVs with my DM/WP Brute, can't see why a Scrapper would be any worse off.

Here are a few changes I'd recommend:
Drop Shadow Punch; with the amount of recharge you'll be wanting this shouldn't be necessary.
Put the purple Stun set in Boxing.
Frankenslot Siphon Life to maximize heal, damage, recharge (I have mine around 3 seconds for reference).

Also, caltrops with procs in it might be a good way to boost damage since MG's Immobilize should keep an AV inside of it for the full duration.
  14. I'm a bit surprised I'm the first one to notice this; where's Soul Drain and Hasten?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Most teams I am on play in relentless, but I also have some support on most teams. Rarely have I been on an 8-man relentless team without some sort of support unless it was a farm. Even in all boss farms my DM/WP is normally the toughest brute there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would you mind posting your DM/WP build?
I've been having a hard time staying on my feet with mine.
Def debuffs have been causing me a lot of trouble.
  16. Nicro

    fastest attack?

    [ QUOTE ]
You could use sands of mu, dark melee's shadow maul, and flurry. All of them have super fast punches being thrown all in succession.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Seconded.
  17. Of the 3 ATs, a Brute does get the smallest improvement from AAO since it has the lowest damage scalar, but limiting the scope to just that particular bonus seems a poor reason to say the whole set is worse for Brutes.

True Grit provides more +HP on Brutes than Scrappers, the -dmg component of AAO provides a better bonus to Brutes than Scrappers because of their higher HP cap, SC does more damage, and Brutes have access to some great PPP powers that allow you to reach 45% defense rather easily thanks to -tohit debuffs. With Darkest Night, a /SD Brute could be around the soft-cap with nothing more than common IOs.
  18. You do know the base damage for Shield Charge is the same for all 3 ATs?
So a Brute with Fury will do significantly more damage with the attack.
  19. Could you post the data chunk or the link so we can open it up in Mids.
  20. The positional defense of Shield also provides protection against debuffs and mez which makes it my personal favorite; if only because it provides me protection from the Malta Sappers.
  21. My vote goes to Elec/* it's one of the few sets that works better on a Stalker than other ATs.

Dark is good, but I'd rather play it on another AT because of what it gives up for AS/placate (Soul Drain, Dark Consumption).
  22. Soul Drain is 40% + 8%/target (max 10)
    Against All Odds is 10% + 5.5%/target (max 10)

So you're looking at a 185% bonus when at the cap.
  23. I'd like to see a ground punch that causes an animation similar to foot stomp.
  24. It could work similar to Guile's attacks from Street Fighter.
  25. Could try an Elm/Stone brute, the damage/recharge buffs that /pain provides could help mitigate the negatives of Granite.
