BS/SD Softcapping
Slot Parry with Touch of Death and move the 6% Kismet unique to Phalanx Fighting and you will be at the cap.
I also recommend dropping Focused Accuracy for Conserve Power since all of BS's attacks have a -Def component and because FA is pretty bad for how much endurance it costs to run.
Phalanx Fighting shows up kind of funny in Mids (automatically assumes one ally in range) Theres a way to fix it, but it always sounds so complicated, so, click Phalanx Fighting off, and just add 3.75% to your AoE, Melee, and Ranged Defenses.
End result, yes, you're short on Melee Defense, but with the Recharge you've got, Parry will be part of your attack chain, which will keep you well above the softcap, and very much out of harms way.
PS - And yes, you really do want to drop FA for Conserve Power
I've got a parry-free, ancillary-free build that I run on my bs/sd scrapper. It works really well and has zero end problems. I beat the [censored] out of everything I see and only rarely get the [censored] beat out of me in return Just offering it up as a different sort of idea from the FA/parry type builds. As noted above, remember to add the 3.75% def for running Phalanx Fighting with nobody in range of it. I didn't level with this build; levelling used a lot of Parry.

Hi folks. My current pet project is a Broadsword/Shield Defense scrapper, and I'm looking for opinions of softcapping him. As it stands, he's (AFAIK) close to the softcap with this build, but I'd like some opinions.
Reasoning behind some power choices: I used to have Slice. Since getting Headsplitter and Shield Charge, I find I'm using Slice less and less. Build Up, Shield Charge, Whirling Sword takes out packs of things disturbingly quickly. Also: the reasoning behind Grant Cover. While the set has some defense debuff resistance without it, I still find I'm getting my defense dropped distressingly quickly (I'm looking at you, Cimerorans!).

Not sure on the prices of some of these sets, sadly. But looking to make it at least somewhat cheap (no purple sets, please).
