To many choices I can not pick.

I am sorry I know I seem to only appear when I have a question. I have a friend that is coeming back tot he game and I just can not pick what kind of brute to go withthere corr. They will play a eletric/pain domantion corr. I want to be able to play the ITF with but also want to playa brute I can do damage and keep things off them. I have played eletric/stone/dark and willpower armors. I have tried eletric/SS/SM/Battle axe and dark melee. I useally make a brute with one villian group in mind this would be the first time I am trying to pick a brute with the focus of a teamate in mind.

I have thought about trying a fire/fire brute or something with invul armor. I did think about trying the shield armor but after getting a /sr scrapper to 50 I am iffy on defense. What do you guys think would be a good partner with a eletric/pain domantion corr?

With a Pain Corruptor to back you up, I'd go with the most damaging secondary - Fire. It may be a little squishy, but that won't be a problem with a Pain Corruptor by your side. For a primary, Super Strength is always a good choice.

How about making a Fire/Inv brute?

How about something a little different?

Stone/Electric.

Electric has higher resists than fire, but much lower self healing ability... normally this is a bit grim, but wait... you've got a friend to help with that! Pain domination will rather effectively shore up that little... er big... gap.

Your friend could use some aggro management? Well you get a taunt aura, and power sink...

Want some epic AoE control? you simply cannot challenge Fault.

Oh and as electric your friend might take it into their head to use short circuit...

Run in with fault then short circuit + power sink will make a mess of most things. Slot some Endmods in your aura to keep the drain going and keep your foes helpless.

Want more? Take the mu epic and then slot some endmod in tesla cages as well.

SS/Ele is also worth thinking about. It's probably the more useful all around build too, but stone gets bonus marks for being extra fun.

Counterpoint: Your role on the ITF will probably be dps only. You are not well suited to being a tank on this TF.

The cake is a lie! The cake is a lie!

I thought about that but since the cloest thing you get to a damage aura(does 0 damage though) is I think 28. Solo it is not bad but when we played hero side years ago I got her killed enough kindy want to make it up by keep things off her as much as possable.

I know she would use short circuit as much as possable hero side. I already have a stone/eletric brute in the mid 30s and seemed to be a waste of a slot to make a second brute with the same powers. I do feel that brute hits the hardest because without damage enhancers yet I still hit harder then most of my other brutes.

Stone melee is fun and I have thought about it because of fault. Thank you again for the advice

You have a corruptor whose secondary mainly heals rather than buffing def/res, I would have thought that is the time to play a defence set, as your team mate will see you not being hit often, and can heal you when you are hit, but otherwise concentrate on blasting. SS/shield or ElM/SR come to mind. Go with an AoE primary and go nuts.

It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba

Dark/Fire could work really well-- Imagine combining your burn patches with Midnight Grasp (the lvl 32 huge dmg immobilize). The -ToHit of the dark attacks (plus the fear) will boost your survivability, but siphon life would be kind of redundant when you have healing flames and a pain dom friend. FWIW: I really enjoy my stone/fire and dark/WP brutes.

Axe/shield seems like a really fun combo that I wanna try as a tank (shield charge + whirling axe + lots more knockdown), and would probably feel very brutish. I also wanna try a wacky combo: any disorienting primary mixed with oppressive gloom from Dark Armor. Stacking on disorient with EM, SS, or war mace could probably make for some nice ownage.

Also consider picking a defense based shield set if your friend has quick healing reflexes, or a resist based set if not.

Could try an Elm/Stone brute, the damage/recharge buffs that /pain provides could help mitigate the negatives of Granite.
