Could someone ping www.cityofheroes.com and let me know what the IP address is?

One thing I find amazingly annoying is that when searching for recipes/enhancements, I find that some names have 'hidden' characters in them (tabs, extra spaces, etc). From my work as a Software QA person, I know that this results from a multitude of developers doing different things in different ways with different tools.

One time, when doing a database conversion, several REALLY big reporting issues were found to be caused by these hidden characters. All because when you searched for 'Smith', it was doing an exact search, and wouldn't recognize 'Smith[trailing space]'.

I'll find an example, and edit afterwards.

[Edit:] One example is Positron's Blast: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance. If you type it in as shown, the Enhancement does not show up. If you bid on the Enhancement, and click Find while it is in your Bidding list, it will show up, but as soon as you uncheck Autocomplete, and even just click in the text area, the search window goes empty. This tells me that there are hidden or special characters in the name used in the database, which cannot be reproduced. All of the Enhancement names/text should be 'scrubbed' to remove such extras.

[Edit2:] The character seems to be after the colon, but before the A in Accuracy. If I search for Accuracy/Damage/Endurance, it shows in the list. If I search for Positron's Blast:, it shows in the list. But any string that includes the characters between the colon and the 'A' all fail to find the enhancement.

I have 2 PC's on the same home network. Both answer to the same DNS server.

On one, when I use IE, FF, tracert, ping to get to boards.cityofheroes.com, it works fine.
On the other, I am notified that the DNS has never heard of it.

I added the IP address to my hosts file, and can now get there on the 2nd PC.

At one point, I got a message saying that the site have a failed security certificate. This was on the PC that had trouble getting to it.

Anyone know of a forum move, server update, or anything odd?

Unfortunately, no. You cannot playtest the respec... unless you can somehow do this on a test server. Once the respec is completed, it locked in place until you use a separate respec token.

Anyone doing any in the near future? never done one, but would like to. Have a Lvl 50 Energy/Fire/Cold Blaster.

I swear that I saw something once, about Inf being doubled, but I can't be sure if it was in regards to turning Level 50, or a Double XP weekend......

Does the entire PC freeze up? Can you see any HDD activity? Is it possible to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of the locked up game?

I sometimes have what I believe to be a similar issue. It is ALWAYS accompanied by a loud buzzing noise. I've been an SQA tech for 11 years, and I am convinced it is a sound card driver issue, but haven't had the time/inclination to troubleshoot it.

Look at the text in the Missions tab. That will be more precise.

Perhaps it really means Pigg, as in a pig bucket, where all the scraps get thrown in together?

Please excuse me if this is answered somewhere that I didn't look... I just spent 50 mins combing the Wiki and the Forums for this, and can't find it.

I could have SWORN that I saw a way to write a bind that will target based on the level/class of the Enemy. Ex: a way to target only bosses, or a way to only target enemies that conn Red to me.

My Search-Fu, while strong, is, Sho'Nuff, not the Master.

why is everyone looking at me that way....?

I play on a RIDICULOUSLY underpowered machine, so memory issues intensely magnified when I play.

I find zoning to be the most memory intensive activity. I can play in a single zone for *hours*, but if I zone 4-5 times (especially into larger zones, like IP or Faultline), and I have to restart my client.

Of course, 384 MB Ram doesn't go as far these days as it use to....
