Market UI Tweaks
Newest UI removed timestamps. I want those back.
My biggest beef is that the new interface is much jumpier. When you have a lot of items stored occasionally it'll grab the wrong thing to sell. I never once had this happen under the old interface but its happened 8-10 times under the new one.
Otherwise I'm with you Peter.......get stuff in a consistent order across categories.
One thing I find amazingly annoying is that when searching for recipes/enhancements, I find that some names have 'hidden' characters in them (tabs, extra spaces, etc). From my work as a Software QA person, I know that this results from a multitude of developers doing different things in different ways with different tools.
One time, when doing a database conversion, several REALLY big reporting issues were found to be caused by these hidden characters. All because when you searched for 'Smith', it was doing an exact search, and wouldn't recognize 'Smith[trailing space]'.
I'll find an example, and edit afterwards.
[Edit:] One example is Positron's Blast: Accuracy/Damage/Endurance. If you type it in as shown, the Enhancement does not show up. If you bid on the Enhancement, and click Find while it is in your Bidding list, it will show up, but as soon as you uncheck Autocomplete, and even just click in the text area, the search window goes empty. This tells me that there are hidden or special characters in the name used in the database, which cannot be reproduced. All of the Enhancement names/text should be 'scrubbed' to remove such extras.
[Edit2:] The character seems to be after the colon, but before the A in Accuracy. If I search for Accuracy/Damage/Endurance, it shows in the list. If I search for Positron's Blast:, it shows in the list. But any string that includes the characters between the colon and the 'A' all fail to find the enhancement.
The % in 5% def or 6% accuracy is sometimes interpreted as a printf-like format specifier, which is a bug.
I wish enhancements and inspirations auto-stacked when dropped on the Stored tab so you could sell them in stacks if you wanted to.

I'm baffled by the order of the (up arrow/down arrow) in the search window that Fulmens pointed out a little while back. acc/dmg/rech, acc/dmg, acc/dmg/rech (recipe), dmg/rech (recipe), dmg/rech, etc.
Clicking on an item and having the information window open - good.
Clicking again and having nothing happen - bad.
I'd like the information window to minimize again (back to base state)

having to scroll down to get what I want to see back in the window - bad.

Another thing I hadn't noticed before. I'm bidding on some salvage, and when I click on it I can see a list of all the recipes that piece of salvage is used in. Not actually useful to me, but whatever. The problem is that each recipe shows up multiple times. Once per level at which the recipe exists, I think, although the level isn't displayed. If they're using SQL, then they need to drop the word "DISTINCT" in there. Otherwise, I don't know what it would take to fix it. But having "Performance Shifter: Rech/Acc (Recipe)" appear about 15 times in a row is just a waste.

* Recipes are sorted in descending order by level. Crafted enhancements are the opposite. When you switch back and forth between them, the interface remembers that you were scrolled all the way up or down, but since the sort order is reversed you always have to move the scrollbar all the way in the other direction.

I want the UI to remember the split between the bottom window and the top two. Every time I open the UI the divider is near the bottom, and I have to resize it. I have a similar problem with sizing the email window, although that one seems to be more sporadic for some reason. Fix these please.

The interface "copying" the same amount from bid to bid is extremely annoying. Likewise, the (Recipe) coming up whenever I type an item makes me wish the Market UI person would be flogged, lightly, for a period of about five minutes. Just so they can feel the burn a little.
Outside of that, enjoying the new Market UI immensely.

I'd like to see the effect of having a screen that shows enhancement and recipe next to each other for comparisons. More lazy or less lazy, how would people be ? Profit margins gone ? higher ?
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.
I would really like it if I could turn off the 'this salvage is used in the following of your recipes' warning and have it STICK. I'd be happiest of all if it would stay turned off for good, but even just for the session would be better than having the warning pop up again after every time I've zoned.
Likewise the warning about a large posting fee. (And it baffles me that there's a warning about large posting fees, but no warning for large bids. I swear, sometimes it feels like the spec for the new UI was drawn up by throwing all the suggested features into a hat, and drawing out three quarters of them to implement.)

You guys have mentioned the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
I workaround the jumpiness of the UI by always using it from the bottom
up, but the resizing every time I visit the market is *really* irritating after
a few trips.
I also agree on the sorting - it's so bad, I don't even bother trying to use
the Autocomplete feature - I just clik in the proper left-side categories
and move on - same with those @#^%^@# popups that you can never
get rid of... Awful.
One thing I don't think was mentioned is when I click FIND (on something
I've listed or I'm bidding on - say, Deific Weapon salvage), it switches the
top, right window to just that item. So, you lose sight of the rest of the
items usually listed in that frame.
I'd much prefer it to simply scroll to the item within the context of it's list
(ie. salvage in this case). That way, when I'm done looking at the Deific
Weapon, I can just continue on, instead of needing to re-click Salvage
again.
In short, it would be really nice for the devs to put a little time in on this
thing again, since we're stuck with it.

Surely it would solve a lot of problems, not least simply quicker operation, if it did not do it in 'live' time?
If you just click on a top-level category it suddenly shows you everything that is there. Then a sub-category, it reloads the screen. Press 'For Sale' and away we go again -ok maybe 'For Sale' is when it is time to query the database.
Wait for me to click search before bothering the database please. It has to add to the whole jumpiness/slowness/mis-clicking problems that bug us.

I've been annoyed for awhile about most of those things you already mentioned peterpeter. The difference between the naming of a recipe and crafted enhancement is my major petpeeve though. Also...I hate how there is a difference in name between "disorient" and "stun" etc, although it exactly the same. Why would a recipe be called something like "whatever:chance to stun" and the crafted enhancement be "whatever:disorient bonus"!!! That kind of stuff drives me crazy.
Agree with... everything here (huh, that never happens in the other subforums), but my biggest issue is the responsiveness. Make a bid when my slots are already full, and the bid shows up in my transaction inventory for a few seconds until the system realizes it's not supposed to be there. Make a bid that doesn't immediately fill, cancel it and put in a higher bid, only to have both bids then show up in my "bought" window, and now I have two of whatever it is, one of which I overpaid for. Sometimes listing items doesn't register at all - I get the large-listing-fee warning and click yes, and nothing happens.
I've pretty much learned to deal with all the naming quirks and whatnot, but having to sit around and wait for the UI to play catchup with whatever I'm doing bothers me to no end.
There are a few things about the market that really bug me. Little things. Tiny things. I'm not talking about high prices, or low supply, or anything else that's pretty much set by the players. I mean things like...
* Recipes are sorted in descending order by level. Crafted enhancements are the opposite. When you switch back and forth between them, the interface remembers that you were scrolled all the way up or down, but since the sort order is reversed you always have to move the scrollbar all the way in the other direction.
* When you first open the tab for invention salvage and a list of the appear in the window at the right, is there any sorting at all? Nevermelting ice, steel, clockwork winder...?
* When you look in a set, the order of the items is different between recipes and enhancements. For defense/LotG for example, the first enhancement listed is the Defense one, but the first recipe listed is the 7.5 recharge speed.
* That problem may be related to the fact that the enhancement and the recipe have different names. One is called "Defense/Increased Global Recharge Speed" and the other is called "+7.5% Recharge Speed". There are places (I can't find right this second) where the recipe is something like Acc/Dam/Recharge and the enhancement is Recharge/Dam/Acc. That kind of thing.
What else bugs you about the current market interface? Again, I'm not talking about big problems, or missing features that might take weeks to implement, just little things that feel like they could be fixed in a couple of hours by a temp hitting copy/paste over and over?*
*Standard Code Rant applies, sadly... but it FEELS like something a temp could fix in a couple of hours of copy pasting!!!
