Respec questions
Unfortunately, no. You cannot playtest the respec... unless you can somehow do this on a test server. Once the respec is completed, it locked in place until you use a separate respec token.
I recommend Titan Sentinel and Mids.

You can extract your current character's build off Titan Sentinel, it makes a datachunk for Mids. You plug that into Mids and it shows your current build which you can mess around with all you want without wasting respecs.
Also, you can post your builds in the various AT forums, and have other players give you suggestions to tweak your build.
I'm back to the game after a while, and due to the fitness pool changes I clearly have to respec my hero. I don't remember much about respecs, except that the first time I respecced at 50 I ended up with a good level 50 character which was quite useless at lower levels once the ability to go back in time was introduced.
Anyway, first of all, can I cancel the respec and keep the respec token? I can't imagine that I will finish the respec in one sitting. I will first have to see how what new powers I can get and when, and then plan, so I'd like to be able to try the respec, cancel, plan then do it again. Unfortunately Mid's Hero Designer is only updated up to issue 18, so I can't use that effectively. The second question is whether it's possible to easily tell how I build my current hero. I think that build is decent, and would prefer to build off it, instead of starting from scratch. Thanks. |
As far as MIDS goes, its been updated for issue 19 for a while, minus the alpha slot/incarnate stuff, but it has inherent fitness changes in there. Double check that you have the latest version at http://www.cohplanner.com/. Sometimes the auto updater within the program is bugged so you may have to uninstall and reinstall the new one. Be sure to backup your old builds first just in case though.

All respecs start from scratch. If you can't finish the respec, you can back all of the way out and keep your token, but it won't save your progress.

Thanks for all the help.
If you need help with making a build, post on the AT-specific forums. I generally try to help with Scrapper, Tanker, and Defender builds.
Thanks. I'll have to think what I want to have, and go back to the character concept. Thanks to the great help here I have my character in Mid's Hero Designer, and can plan what to do. If I have questions I will be sure to ask them. I'm very happy with the help I got so far.
The unfortunate side effect of using Mid's is that I found out about Ninja Run. But I'll resist buying it.
