Took them a while to give the ol' "We're going to be a bit longer!" post too. I almost feel petty when I think "How come it's not back online when they said it would be!". Then I remember how much money I've shelled out over the years and I'm able to justify myself. To myself, of course.
I tend to talk to myself when the server is down....that's normal right?

It looks like the servers *may* be slowly making their back up now. Or not...
We'll see....
I've been away for a little over a year. Been back less than 2 weeks, and so far it's been a mixed bag of fun and disappointment.
The game was slowly getting more unstable before I left, and now it's at the worst it's ever been, with random crashes most people are blaming on their cards. Then to see that now server maintenance is done in the late afternoon when people are getting home, versus in the morning as I always remember...
If this is so critical it can't wait until morning, then maybe it's critical enough to give some information.
OH..We have some "Unknowns." If they don't; who does? lol

I've been playing non-stop with maybe a month or 2 here and there break, and the game has never been more stable. At least for me anyway. There is currently an issue that requires an immediate fix. This isn't a "regular maintenance window".
That being said, maintenance was also changed from every morning to every Thursday morning back in Oct 2009. So no, this isn't normal.
We'll see....

So we're now an hour later than the expected completion time, and the forums are now glitching out too. (Or are they just turning them off/on so as to evade the mass hysteria that follows late maintenance windows!)

Av also posted an update saying they're "waiting to bring up the servers". Whatever that means.
Edit: "We're running into problems with one of our systems and expect a further delay of at least 15 minutes. We'll get there!" according to the latest update.
We'll see....

The hotfix resolves a crashing issue with the Alpha slot which apparently would cause map server disconnects during TF's and take away all rewards.
The extended down time seems to be because one of the server rats passed out

calm down. obviously something was messed up royally that they are fixing. It happens. Its not like this is an every day occurrence. So just breathe and read up on some builds or jabber on your home server's forums. Or kill some brain cells by watching American Idol. lol
