Selling Enhancements at any Vendor

A long time ago I heard somewhere that if you tried to sell high level enhancements to a vendor that only sells lower level enhancements, you wouldn't get the same asking price. So, I wanted to try and dispel that myth. I had some level 31 Invention Set Enhancements and a few 30 Damage and Accuracy Enhancements that I wanted to sell for my level 20 Mutant Controller. I went to the Mutant Store in Steel and got a price for my enhancements and then I went into Atlas to the vendor by Miss Liberty and wanted to see what price I could get. It was exactly the same. All enhancements, all Salvages everything sold at the same price.

So, with that being said, was there a time that this was not the case? Was this changed in a recent issue that would make any vendor offer the same price for your items or was that always the case and I was mislead by someone who said this to me?

When I started playing, I do believe there was a significant difference (to some people) when selling Tech items at a tech store, as opposed to selling Tech at a Mutant store. Selling an origin at a different origin's store got you less money. I'm not sure how standard Training Origin stores factored into it though.

A friend of mine would religiously hit each of the origin stores after each set of missions to get the most for her enhancements.. I didn't feel like waiting around all the time, so in the meantime, I was in the next mission probably making more than she was off the kills. haha

I remember vendor price equalization was upcoming, but I thought that was going to be in Going Rogue?

It was announced among the many things at Hero Con, but there was nothing specific to indicate it would be GR before we saw it. We just know it's coming.

Personally what I'm hoping is that they revamp normal stores and contact stores such that, while you get less selection at the contact, you pay less as your relationship improves.

Now that you mention it, I vaguely remember somebody saying that the store in Ouroboros pays the higher price for everything, and most people I know just sell there now to make it easier.

Based on this, I'd say the Training origin contacts might do the same thing... or all new stores added are equalized after Ouroboros?.. or even RWZ? All new zones only seem to have one Store. They are probably all the same now, but I guess it requires some more testing for confirmation to se if the older stores still follow the old rules.

I thought Oro price gouged like Ghost Falcon does in Peregrine. I sell everything in RWZ now because I know I'll get the best prices, and with the level restriction gone, even my lowbies can offload.

At the bottom of the list of what each store sells is the percent of full price that they buy back for.

Ouro buys enhancements at 32% of base costs. Midnighter Club, Cimerora, RWZ all buy at 40% of base costs. Origin venders buy their origin at 40%, and other origins at 26%. Training venders buy TOs at 40%, and others at 26%.

And the big reason the Club, Cim, and RWZ buy back at the better rate is because of the fact those are the Co-Op zones and leaving them in a mixed team gets you kicked.

Also might it have something to do with them selling all origins? If the code is there for buying price based on origin the fact that they sell all origins probably kicks them into high price.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Ghost Falcon sells all origins, and gives lowball prices when buying.

Grandville's epic QMs buy/all origins too, and buy back low.

It's the lack of hazard pay.

Lack of funding for the Mole Point program, and the threat of being taken over by civilian management.

I think they severely over-estimated how much people would "enjoy" being digested by a hortha vine. "Like riding a bus, but greener" was viewed as technically accurate, but deliberately misleading and extremely painful.

Would you be in a giving mood if you were stationed on a floating rock in a crazy god's personal themepark? They don't even get basic cable out there.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Well, they do--but "cable" in the Shard is a bunch of natterlings reenacting The Price is Right, the Dick Van **** Show, and You Can't Do That on Television.
