  1. hmm, well calculating out, if the nemesis/malta bosses were giving around 8700 xp, and the PP gave almost 13k, thats nearly 50% bonus xp (its slightly less but very close to +50%)

    to be exact

    8,781 x 1.4 = 12293.4

    normal x 140% (40% bonus xp) = new xp, and the xp you were getting from the PP was 12,294 which means for some reason it was getting approx 40% extra xp from somewhere
  2. what the other posters said about the MoG on the paragon protectors is true, the inflicting self dmg cuts the xp down

    as for the spines protector giving more than usual, that seems kind of odd though, not sure why it would be doing that

    do you know what lvl the spines protector was and what lvl nemesis and malta bosses were?
  3. same, i rarely buy recipes, only things i usually craft are drops that i can use, other than that i buy everything premade lol
  4. those are seriously epic and i would actually buy a mountain dew with those on them (mountain dew isnt my favorite soda but i would get it if it had these lol)

    Anything/Dark Miasma is what you want. Dark Miasma has a couple of holds, IIRC, as well as an excellent heal and several absolutely top-rank debuffs. The debuffs are the queens of that set but don't overlook all the other excellent powers.

    I'd recommend any MM except Ninja for just starting out. Thugs would be excellent, but Robotics and Demons would also be very good. Zombies and Mercenaries are ok and would do fine for a concept build.
    fully support this, if you want a set thats extremely concentrated on buffing/debuffing then mastermind is the way to go, you summon pets and then buff/debuff while your pets attack for you

    (coincidentally my first toon was a ninja/dark mm lol)

    Vigilante tips?

    unfortunately, if you already have run your 5 tips for the day, then you cannot get new tip drops until those timers expire

    also for redside the best place i know for getting tips is in sharkhead, especially when ghost of scrapyard is up, his mob is awesome for dropping tips lol, takes me usually 1-10 min of killing to get 3 tips with scrapyards mob (without it varies can take between 5 and 15 depending on luck for drops)

    well supposedly the widows are natural born psychics that arachnos enlists in their widow programs, very large amount of them are found by kalinda, GW, or one of the fortunatas in GW command

    the crab spiders are techncially more of a tech origin, but they started as naturally trained wolf spiders and then when they get the respec they are essentially chosen to be able to train into one of the more advanced classes of either a bane or a crab, the backpack was added on at a later time, so while it may be tech, they started out natural, and then mechanically changed their origin to tech (however this game does not support origin changes, so they remain natural due to their natural skills they got from their arachnos boost camp training)

    APPs are hero epics (even though they are sort of just generic masteries), they are still originated as hero epic pools

    the patron pools are a little easier to understand as they are tied into stories involving the patrons (mako, GW, ect) and theres a little more lore behind it

    while VEATs are essentially grunts, they still plant their names on the destined ones list and then eventually go through a patron arc since that is what the normal "destined ones" do

    they are essentially arachnos grunts out to make a name for themselves, and that is why their origin is natural because they are supposedly put through a boot camp before they get let out in mercy to do whatever, so overall they dont have any special abilities other than the psi powers if you are using a widow

    im pretty sure thats the intended background (havent read up on the lore in awhile, but im fairly sure thats more of the background why they dont have APPs)
  9. and the nice thing about /dark is that it kills the tohit and dmg of the AV so it wont hit often and it wont hit very hard when it does hit

    basically story wise, VEATs are supposed to be members of arachnos, therefore they can only get PPPs because they are bound to arachnos (even in the case of the ones who go change alignment)

    Yes, playing the game more often will get you more chances to obtain a purple, but being a farmer does not necessarily equate that you get more purples. But, I don't want to get into a debate on what random really means; there's already been a lot of threads on this anyway.

    Another example is this: right now, there is a real low supply of Regenerating Flesh on the market; less than 100 for sale right now, which is unusual for a high level common salvage. Less 50s are playing right now, which means less Flesh getting to market. (That just sounds naughty. )

    My thoughts? Just that we have less 50s playing right now, so we have a lower supply. Players are levelling their Praetorians/lower levels or just not playing until I19 or some other reason; I'm not sure. I'm no expert by any means; just trying to explain things by what I see.
    yes you can get purples with alignment merits, however most require 20-25 alignment merits to get ONE purp recipe

    even if you ran tip mishs everyday and bought a merit everyday you could only earn maybe 21 within a 2 week period, and thats really pushing for them, if you only buy or only run tips it could take 1-2 months to make enough to buy a purp with alignment merits

    im guessing 95%+ of the market is entirely drops

    theres also one bank mish in which i didnt get a mish complete and then went outside and saw a HORDE of flying longbow like 150yds above the bank and apparently all of them were part of the ambush

    i know there is a glitch with bank mishs in which longbow eagles can fly through the bank walls and such

    friend was on a mind/elec/ice perma dom and i was on an ill/cold/earth troller

    had no issues with any of the ambushs in the cyst mish cause we were both invis and no issues with the comp either cause we got a little lucky and requiem jumped down and started pounding on the comp for us for awhile and when he stopped we just killed him lol

    no issues with any ambush even ones that saw through invis because they were small lol

    the next thing we are practicing for is to be able to duo MoLRSF

    (apologies if my toon is hard to see i forgot to turn off superior invis lol)

  16. on my granite brute i slotted a bunch of gift of the ancients: +runspeed/def

    each one of those is good for +7.5% movement speed, which if you have 5 is a good 37.5% movement speed, and another good thing about those enhances is that they are fairly cheap as well

    another semi-cheap way to get some +speed is to just slot 2 performance shifters since the first set bonus is +5% movement speed

    off the top of my head i am not sure about the amount of bonus needed to reach base level (would have to log in later and check my stone guy who has run speed of just above base speed in granite)

  18. i used my stone brute for about 5 hours of ToT yesterday

    apparently you can still use a costume while in granite so i was taking advantage of that, and during my best tip streaks i would get 1 approx every 10-20 min with constant door clicking

    the worst dry spells i had were when i would go for about 30-45 min with no tip drops

    so from what im seeing, the tip drop is extremely random and doesnt seem to have any certain drop rate (my stone guy was using the freakshow tank costume temp from the halloween event about 85% of the time i was ToTing)

  21. longbow ballistas are only EBs, the the longbow ballista that spawns every little while in st martial is one of the very few if only naturally spawning outdoor EBs
  22. the synaptic overload puts a confuse symbol on everything it hits because its still applying the -recov and -end portions of the power as well

    its only a mag 3 confuse so it wont affect higher than a boss unless domination is up and its the first target in the chain, but it will still show the confuse symbols because of the -recov/end portions of the power

    also to amend previous posts, the max a single toon could hold salvage wise is actually 85 (80 with the bonuses, and then +5 more from the 66 month vet badge), was only counting 80 because im still a little short on the vet badge for the bonus slots
  25. what would happen to the badges then if you got them as a hero and then changed to a villain?

    would they just stay the same names and whatnot?
