Patch notes for build 1850.201009101722.15T2R.

COMBINED

  • The Halloween Tip Mission will now reward one of five badges upon completion..
    Jack-In-Irons should now spawn much more frequently during the Halloween Event.

CITY OF HEROES
  • Controllers should now be able to select the Summon Tarantula Mace Mastery power.

CITY OF VILLAINS
  • None.

PRAETORIA
  • None.

Av is this patch being published on the EU test server? Just went to log in and no patch.

Not complaining because it is such a small patch, just asking incase its a technical fault.

The reward table now does work. And if you had previously picked up a badge, that choice will show but won't mention the badge (you can still chose the other rewards).





BUG: The Power Hungry Badge doesn't show up. It's the red one.





The issue of the FPS drop in the Halloween Tip Mission is also resolved.

The issue of the clickies not actually giving you more time 'til the Clockwork show up is also resolved.

Five badges?

Weren't six mentioned in the original notes for the Hallowe'en Event? Or is one of the badges not tied to the tip mission?

Nice to see that Jack's getting a spawn rate boost. pummeling multiple Eochai's just to get one Jack got tedious fast the first time round, let alone the second and third time...

It looks like the sixth is a badge for getting all 5 from the missions.

That makes sense, looking at the screenshots posted by Zombie Man whilst I was typing my previous post.

Since this patch appears to be US only, I've got no direct way to try it out as of yet. <shrug> I can wait for it to go live now.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether costume powers and Zombie Apocalypse enemies are now counting toward their respective badges?

I can confirm that costume power drops are counting towards their badges, while Zombie Apocalypse enemies are still not.

EDIT: Specifics, I defeated 8 Lieutenants ("Reanimated Corpse") and 29 Minions ("Zombie"), while solo, on a level 50 villain in Grandville. No badge credit has appeared at all (I made sure to check all badge tabs, just to be sure the badge wasn't incorrectly being tracked in a different section).

I can verify that currently on live, the Zombie Apocalypse badges do not have progress bars. Although, when the requirements are met the badges award correctly.

Are they not awarding at all on test, or just not showing progress?

I haven't defeated enough zombies yet to outright earn one of the apocalypse badges on this character, so I do not know. I'll follow the apocalypse events and see if I can earn a badge.

EDIT: I did another apocalypse event, and earned the Safety in Numbers badge for defeating 33 Lieutenants, so this is currently working as it does on Live. Badge credit -is- being given, but is not being -shown-.

I've just played through the new Tip mission again, and the reward table correctly popped up at the end - so I think it's working properly now.

One thing I'm not sure about though is the arrival of the Clockwork ambushes - they started to arrive while there were still over 2 minutes left on the timer.

Instead of making it the same badge with a hero/villain name, they complicate things and make it a badge that overwrites the other, making the fan sites have to come up with custom code to make the badge work correctly on the site so badge totals aren't messed up for everyone....lol

what would happen to the badges then if you got them as a hero and then changed to a villain?

would they just stay the same names and whatnot?

Just to interject here, has anyone check to see if vamps and spirts spawn often enough that those badges are attainable? Didn't do the event last year but the year before it was a problem.

The Vamps and Spirits are spawning at a good pace.. Werewolves actually seem kinda low this year :/

On a side note, I just spent about an hour and a half trick or treating without getting a Halloween tip drop. Though, upon logging in earlier I saw yellow text in my chat window "The Mundi is under your control, for now".. Did I manage to get flagged for completing it last time I ran it on test, and there's just some kind of hard timer on the drop? or am I just having really -bad- luck?

Given the high rate of lieutenant and boss spawns this year, you will honestly have more trouble getting the badge for defeating ToT zombies, than the ones for ghosts or vampires (perspective from a soloer, I don;t know how different the spawns would be on a team).

So now if my hero gets the Trusting badge and switches to villain he'll retain the Trusting badge, even though the other side-specific badges will auto-rename? :-/ Ow, my brain.

With this new patch, the unreturnable completed halloween tip mission that was in my tray has been (thankfully) gotten rid of. However, on that character, I have been unable to get another Halloween Tip (yes, I have been ToTing in costume). Is this purely a streak of bad luck, or have others also not received another tip drop?

If you already have 3 regular tips filling your tip slots can you get the special ones? Should I delete the regular ones? Dont see any special ones after 45 minutes.

It seems very random. I spent 90 minutes ToTing in PI last night and failed to get the jack-o-tip, but before the fix I picked one up in 15 minutes.
