  1. Everything Sentry said, also just use microfilaments in your SS and SJ and preserve some slots. Consider picking up the patron pet as in 1v1's they do help out with dmg plus they provide a diversion against anyone else's pet.

Take advantage of the dmg procs available to dark blast as they will make a noticeable difference to your damage output. You can even 3 proc dark blast and double proc gloom

    Gl with your build.

  2. Hey I haven't built many masterminds and when I have they have been for pvp but I always tried to go for all out hitpoints, does anyone know if dmg procs are worth slotting in pets at all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Melee in PvP

I guess it would depend if you want to fiteclub or just general zone pvp.

For fiteclub I think your best choice would be a tank or brute with super strength paired with invuln, elec, shield or regen. I also see kat and claws/regen scrappers do pretty well. The same tank and brute sets can work great for general pvp to, since earth mastery does a lot of damage and allows you to close in with a heavy attack such as Knockout blow.

For anything not fiteclub I would recommend martial arts or fire melee with regen, elec or energy aura for scrappers. Weapons mastery is great in zone, web grenade will certainly annoy the squishies :P - Leviathan mastery is nice for crazy survival with hibernate and spammable spirit sharks for means of ranged damage and also blaze mastery does a lot of damage but bare in mind, you will probably want some form of phase, perception and extra resistance from tough so it's up to your preference to choose your epic and power pools

    Hope this helped.

if you want to play the "make everything work" game, DR curves are going to have to get so tight that whatever advantage you get from slotting a set that only mind/* takes but plant/* doesn't, becomes non-existent.

last time they did that, they caused a mass exodus. empirical data therefore states: wide nerfs = people leaving.

what you're asking for is ridiculous. it's something a naive pve-er who doesn't understand the game, or scores really high on the exploration part (and really low on the killer part) of a gamer aptitude test would ask for. see the thing is... people like you are far easier to keep entertained than the average pvper. there is a reason the devs are putting out german sheperds pets that you guys are actually buying and not revisiting TS/HD.

when it comes down to it, you don't want to PVP. you have no clue what you want. you think you do, but in the end, you're just looking for pve.
Yeh, I tried explaining this to some idiots in RV the other night and I have come to the conclusion that you cannot reason with these deluded people who actually believe the changes made in i13 were the right decision. They tried to deny that COH lost god knows how many subscriptions after i13 in such a short time.

These are the sort of people who still complain about psy blasters being OP but will happily stand there while a blaster uses BU and Aim and unloads attack chains at them and they wonder why they die to them so easily...

The people who complain are the ones who cannot use their brain to come up with a way to succeed, that's why the people who these trash i13 changes were made for never even stuck around.

P.s. Fix Ice blast before nerfing anything please.

  5. Me and another posted two different builds in your other thread but I can tell you that there is a few things you should strongly consider changing in this build you posted:

First thing is, drop fireball and take flares (and double proc it), this isn't pre-issue 13 anymore.

If you're only going to 3 slot Aim and Build up then do it with 3 membranes in each, least that way you get +tohit and recharge.

Don't overslot Boost Range, with hasten alone it's perma and it can no longer be stacked. One recharge IO is enough.

If you're going to slot hibernate don't use that +end proc in there, that's a waste of a slot and you will need extra slots...

For your lack of Knockback protection, try get it up to at least 41 with Acrobatics toggled to avoid the majority of KB powers you will face in pvp; such as, Levitate and Power Push.

...and you might want to put the Kismet in Frozen Armour if you're not a player who uses a bind to constantly switch from Super Jump to Combat Jumping when attacking. You will only benefit from the +tohit of the Kismet if the toggle it is in is toggled.

    Hope this helped.

  6. I can give you the build I used to run but it was more for fun than anything. It really comes down to what epic mastery you want because the rest is fairly easy to build; Double proc flares using Apoc and glad javelin procs and either slot 4 devastation and 2 glad javelins (including a proc) or just full glad javelin set, depends on your budget.

I guess the best option would be to go with cold mastery and tough but I enjoy Knockout Blow because it reminds me of the old Bone Smasher damage but you could switch the epics and pool powers around but hopefully this will give you some idea ...erm Bile spray is slotted purely for bonuses, you could use ragnaroks but I couldn't afford them at the time so...:P

  7. I think a therm MM would dominate this tournament assuming heal decay is off and a dark/poison is probably one of the few squishies that would stand up to melee toons inside the cage.

Edit - Ah he put HD as off in the rules now
  8. Is Heal Decay kept on or is it turned off?
  9. The only reason to go EA is Overload because of the elusivity stack. With Overload up you have elusivity numbers like before it was nerfed, you are pretty much un-killable in Overload. Outside of Overload EA sucks quite bad, so imo, you may want to fit Overload and burnout in your build.

Also, if you use burnout when Overload is blinking and then repop it, your end will crash but not your recovery so you can soon toggle back up the 1 or 2 toggles that drop from the end crash. 6 minutes of Overload and an extra minute from Archmage/Demonic puts you in godmode for 7 minutes.

If you REALLY don't want to rely on a t9 then roll a shield tank because they can get pretty solid defense numbers.

As for your epic, if you plan to use this in RV then I would go weapons mastery for web grenade and targetting drone, web grenades screw over every squishy toon seeing as their only means of kiting your melee is jumping; or go the leadership/hibernate route.

    Goodluck.

    Storms and PvP

Honestly with incarnates, pretty much anything is viable. Incarnates give your toon such an amazing boost. The storm/dark could work but it would be hard dueling stronger 1v1 toons. I think a storm/dark with levi or soul mastery could do quite well and if you are motivated enough to get multiple destiny and interface slots then that would help as you could switch in the -tohit interface vs blasters and then stick to reactive for most other builds.

With cardiac available, your endurance would be solid, you would just need to be a boss with freezing rain to really apply pressure. It's surprising how many people have end issues in this game and if they're stupid enough to play into your lightning storms like most people are then you could do well. Anything that pops aim or BU just web grenade and evade until it's gone.

...Also don't forget hurricane stays on the target for a short while even when it's detoggled so don't worry about the debuffing being removed when they detoggle you

Btw Ice/poison is very viable so not every ice/* set is terrible.

I'm also a big fan of storms

    Hope this helped.

Used the armageddons cause I had them spare, use any cheap alternative or 3 HO's and 3 procs ^-^

    Zone PvP n00b

If you plan to pvp outside of Sirens and in RV then I would say go with the EA just because of Overload - I have not long made an EA stalker and for RV I think it's possibly the best stalker secondary if built right but keep it in mind it can be a squishie set; though saying that, any stalker set is squishie if you're caught in a hold and 10 players come and stomp on you.

Spines is great in sirens as you have access to Impale but now Sharks can be taken at 35 the lack of ranged dmg in EM won't matter.

Basically, either of those stalker sets will do fine. As for blasters there's psy/em, fire/em or dark/em. Fire still does the most DPS but psy has the delayed dmg which when chained right can cause a mini spike and you can also slot the placate proc. Dark will be your best choice for 1v1's I think for the self heal and powerboosted -tohit. If you're wanting it for zone pvp again, then go with fire or psy.

    Hope this helped.

    Kinetic Melee?

If you are set on KM then make sure it is a scrapper. People only rant and rave about KM being OP because on scrappers Concentrated Strike hits for like 600+ and ONLY on a scrapper does it hit hard. Tanks and Brutes do not do the same as a KM scrapper.

So make sure it's a scrapper if you are set on KM. A KM tank will just be a waste imo, also check the base pvp numbers on the info tab in-game to clarify.

  17. First of all, you're a WP and you have knockback protection in your mez toggle so you do not need to take acro or waste any slots on KB IO's.

Do not three slot recharge IO's in your powers such as: Hasten or Placate, 2 is enough. I only 1 slot my placate. Also only 1 slot rech in Phase, because of the phase counter, slotting it to recharge fast is pointless.

The great thing about WP is the ability to cap your HP easily (which you've done), but you can do this by 2 slotting (depending on your other sets) heal IO's in High pain threshold so in the remaining slots on HPT I would slot for resistance.

Personally I dont like phase and hiber, I think phase is more than enough on it's own which will open up a slot for Spirit Shark Jaws. This attack is very fast and pretty awesome to use after an AS; it will hold them long enough for you to throw a pyronic judgement and maybe get a very fast and easy kill.

Seeing as you're spines I would consider blaze mastery but having sharks in sirens I could imagine is insane. You can take your first patron power at 35 if you didn't know.

...and lastly try and build for damage bonuses first and then accuracy/recharge. With Muscular alpha, you should do some nice damage.

If you need help with a build, give me a pm.

    Hope this helped.

*EDIT* Ah Lib beat me to it :P
  18. If you want a set that can do some damage out of hide to, I would recommend Energy Melee or Street Justice. Energy transfer still hits hard and Crushing uppercut is nice damage to.

However if you aren't bothered about damage out of hide which doesn't matter, especially if you learn to AS good. You can spend most of your time using AS and Sharks; as well as other ranged powers like Shark jaws and judgement. If this is the case then take a primary like Claws which has a faster recharging Build Up or Elec melee for the big hitting critical attack Thunderstrike.

Spines is also a great primary for impale, opens up more options for the epic/patron as you already have a strong ranged attack.

    Hope this helped.

    I'm comin' back!

Don't take power sink imo and unless you plan on fiteklubbing I wouldn't even waste a slot on power siphon, the only attacks you need to use are Concentrated Strike and the ranged ones if you decide to take both.

Elec armour has no built in Perception so consider a build like leadership/fighting/speed/leaping/leviathan or fighting/concealment/speed/leaping/weapons.

If you're planning to mostly fight in zones then web grenades are almost to good to pass up. They will make you a nightmare for squishies.

  20. Hi,

It would be great if I could get some help with a bind. I'm looking to bind Teleport to leftshift and when I left click, teleport goes off.

    Much appreciated.

    Morti.
  21. Your defense numbers look nice but just at a first glance I can see your overcapped on the bonuses provided from Kinetic Combat so take the ones out of AS and slot 3 Acc/Dam Hami and 2 damage procs. You really want 3 procs in AS but if you can't find an extra slot it shouldn't matter to much.

The bad thing about ninjitsu is the lack of KB protection which means you're going to want to build for at least 41 KB prot to avoid the most common KB powers.

Seeing as you took blinding powder it would be a shame to not find an extra slot to get that big ranged def bonus from a 6th Coercive Persuasion.

Another good IO to consider would be the Kismet +6% in Hide. Seeing as hide is always on, it's a nice +tohit bonus.

If it were me I would drop or unslot some of the weaker attacks in your set and add more slots to the more powerful ones to get more enhancement values in them.

    Hope this helped.

  22. I'm not sure how good Burnout will actually be when i21 hits but that would be another power to fit in to extend the length of Overload.

    Morti.
  23. Then don't give up flight. Build it to your play style; but with flight, just know you won't be able to do any decent arena on it, it would purely be a zone toon and also expect to get hit with -fly powers. If you do decide to keep fly then make a bind to switch between hover and fly and use it when you stop to blast, that way if anyone does hit you with -fly you won't drop to the ground.

Definitely keep leadership though, lack of perception is horrible and you always have 20 greens that you can keep refilling if you just stick to zone pvp.

No one is left without a heal these days thanks to incarnate powers, just grab the rebirth and get it to T3 or T4 and you have a 750-850 heal right there with a large regen buff. The recharge is fairly long but between PFF, phase, rebirth and greens you will be quite survivable. Also you can toggle invisibility on when you're on the move to get out of peoples perception range faster.

There's also a new flight power coming with i21 that boosts your flight speed above the fly speed cap so if you do build for flight make sure you have a power you don't mind dropping for that.

With travel suppression and all the other crap it really only comes down to what you have fun with. At this stage in the game that's all there is to consider imo. You never know you might not like how fly performs in pvp and you might want to switch to the preferred SS/SJ combo . Im sure you'll soon get tired of not being able to chase people down :P.

    I hope this helped.

  24. I haven't ever looked into EA but I'm sure it doesn't have any built in perception (I could be wrong) and if that's the case then you might want to take Leadership over Fighting. I think you would be crippled more by the lack of perception than you would the lack of resistance.

    Morti.
  25. Looking at the build i'm assuming you want a fairly cheap build, so imo some of the powers were underslotted. One you thing you should always take notice of is your health cap and with WP you can bet you will always be over the cap once you start slotting High Pain Threshold for heal so I rearranged some slots, allowing for other powers to be slotted a little more.

I reslotted some powers to get you more damage buffs as recharge isn't really necessary on a stalker. I also took out hiber and waterspout and put in assault and tactics as I think you will benefit more with them. Two phase powers is a waste imo; Phase and Invisibility is more than enough.

I changed the slotting on AS as you only had two procs in there anyway, this way you retain the two procs and gain some bonuses, though if you wanted to extend to the heca proc then go back to 3 Hami and 3 proc.

You may want to find a way to get some extra speed in Superspeed as it's extremely nice to have capped or near capped running speed in Pvp zones.

I did some slight changes to your build, I hope it helped.
