  1. Please remember one thing, if there is one group that can take advantage of HO's, thats Emps!

    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Hamido...n_Enhancements

Check out the Cytoskeleton Exposures, Membranes, Golgi's, and centrioles for you ranges attacks.

And for APP's, I know the skys the limit for defenders..so choose what makes sence. They are all good.

My main for the longest time was a Emp/sonic
I can come up with many many build set ups for whatever you want to do.
  2. Put extra recharge in your rez, make sure to use hasten and as much recharge as possible. add range to Clear Mind. Honestly, having doctored wounds sets are nice, but i used the heal/end redux HO's coupled with 3 IO recharges. I picked every emp power and 6 sloted it cept the rez and CM....and absorb pain, which doesnt need 6 slots, but maybe 3-4.
Pick thebody mastery APP for power build up. Remember, maximize your slots and go for as much recharge as possible. Multiple travel pool picks can be helpful like recall friend, SS, hover, hasten and so forth.

    best "proc toon"

Try a trick arrow/ arrow defender. go buckwild with them there proc's. put them in everything and get ready for mad chaos. just be prepared to deal with aggro in flash arrow if it goes off. I think there is a guide just for this kinda build.
  4. Fire/rad trollers are good, but in teams of 2 or more, they basicly make you unstopable. All the debuffs are stacked and after about 4 sync'd AM's, they cap just about everything of importance. So much so that super teams can skip the whole fitnes pool for leadership. The toggles they get stack and lock down/melt everything.

fire/kin trollers are they best for solo, but sadly Fulcrum shift doesnt stack beyond the damage cap.

ill/rad trollers, rad/sonic defenders, stone tanks (thanks to IO's, all the negative's can be offset) and spines/regen scrappers..as well as archery/mental and fire/fire blasters are all good picks.

Just about every possible setup has some sorta synergy.
A better question is: what sets have poor synergy???? You would have better luck knowing what to avoid unless your a vet or insane.
  5. I stongly feel that each AT should have maybe one power set that the others do not to make them more unique, like defenders get Dark Miasma, Blasters have fire blast, ect...
With that said, I would love a kin/fire def, but i would understand if the dev's gave each AT everything the others have within reason.

if you had 8 players with all 3 toggles, what would the numbers look like..besides awesome?

Thats franken sloting. you can maximize a powers efficiency without IO sets if you use the triple IO's and HO's in the right spots.

On the other hand, taunt is very useful. I have it on all of my tanks. I don't have it on my brute, but only because it's a very tight build and I had other powers that I found more useful to take.

Some sets have a much stronger taunt aura than others, too.
You can get away from not having it if you solo or have alot of AoE attacks.
The IO taunt sets have kick butt bonus's, though.
Combine that with it makes it easier to gather enemys for debuffs and AoE attacks.
I can see puting it off until you can handle the load and the role of a tank, but i consider it essential, it is like taking an emp without any of his 3 heals.

Nah, let's face it. As much as the dev team for this game rocks in so many ways, the philosophy is to get any given feature to 95% done and move on to the next. And while we're always promised that they'll come back and get that last 5%, they just never mention that it takes them 3 years in which to do so.

It's a sloppy design philosophy and the accumulation of 6 years' worth is showing through, cause .95*.95*.95... and so on, is a lot less than .95.

But don't worry! Everybody will be so taken with Going Rogue and all the new stuff after that that they won't care!

    [/rant]
OMG dude, you so totally read my mind. This is EXACTLY how I feel about this game sometimes. It is so damn annoying. I feel a piece of mind knowing someone else out there feels exactly like i do. AHHHHH
  10. I would try the buckeled or patent leather type stuff. I wanted to make a MU for villians, and i found the closest i could get was a sightless guy in leather with a cape. I wish you luck in this.
  11. The dev's hate changing anything for the better...hence stupid stuff like wtf ever a cottage rule is. device's pretty much sucks and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. do not hold your breath. it will happen when bases get fixed. (read into that how you will)

    Tf / sf

BTW, I say do not mess with a single TF, HOWEVER some of the very fun and awesome TRIALS could use some tweaking. As far as I am concerned, the trials of CoH are some of the best content here! On that note:
Shorten the speed between each wave spawning on the TV Trials
Make the cavern of trancendance more user friendly and easier to get to and run without a specific stealther to do it.
Bring back the CoP and give the villians more trials.
Eden...well, I love you so. No changes!

If they worked reliably, the Shard TFs would just be long, not long AND bafflingly frustrating.
    BUY A JETPACK.
    they cost 10,00 inf.
either that or learn to geyser jump.
    I mean, really?
  14. I got one...give people a reason to want to go back to crey's folley, dark astoria, and boomtown. every issue, at least one zone should be built up or changed slightly to show natural progression.
  15. I am new to all this so can you break it down for me newbie style and tell me:
What program to use to get this data?
What data you want and exactly how you want it?
What parameters are normal and what is way too much?

I so want to help get all the lagging and crashes and so forth fixed, but someone lead me in the right direction.
  16. Please fix the stupid messed up up spawn point in cimeroa please!
It is very truely annoying! THANKS!!
  17. Just remember these things, reguardless of IO's and new fangled this's and thats:
6 slot powers you use most often and powers you love.
Every little bit of defense helps.
Don't be afraid to pick a power if it isn't popular if you love it.
    It's your 15 bucks.
Trial and error and practice helps you find out what works.
If you like to RP, then do so and have fun doing it. If the characters concept says they have such and such power or that they do not have it, then so be it, even if it is redundant, different, etc.

My 2 cents also says basicly you want to maximize your core powers:
The Heal, The endurance giving power, Fire cages, Flash Fire, Fulcrum...
    Make sure they hit!

Have fun and remember that crafting your build yourself is cheaper (sometimes) than buying it all precrafted!
  18. anything would be better. i understand you have to have sucky situational powers just like you have great ones, but time bomb? really?

I have a better question, if time bomb gets fixed ever any at all, what power immidiately replaces it as the worst in the game given where it is in the scheme of things?

as a farmer/pler myself i can tell you i dont even use that ae .so id be happy to exploit it till im blue in the face.
    THIS THIS THIS!
    you win sir.
I suggest a challenge...offer up a reward of something cool and shiny or just braging rights to whoever can find these exploits and how they did it.

With this, however, you have to determine who these players are...who wants to out themselves? what good would it do? whats the benifit?

    this
    this this!
  21. From my experiance with 2 sets of ST's, here are a list of things you might want to get and wont need:
Stamina and health....really are not needed with sync'd AM's...
    Assault...no need
    manuvers..maybe
team tp..it is good for maybe one person to have it to drive the team...with CC and hot feet plus the spam of heals and cages, nothing will stand.

Now, for the sometimes solo'ers, they can pick up a good travel power and fitness, and maybe haveing one person take stealth for quick mission defeats and such...

All I have to say is have fun and good luck. i may join you. Nothing in this game stomps butt like 8 similarly spec'd fire/rads. The debuffs are where it's at.
  22. I have a build with 50%+ s/l def, 10% recharge in granite without hasten, and base run speed in granite. Here are some of my slotting suggestions:
Slots are tight in a stone-stone build, but based on what you want to go for in your final build you may have to make some changes.
THESE are my general consensous picks for sloting:
Rooted - 3 Heal/End redux HO's this is the best possible slotting and saves precious slots.
Earth Embrace - 5 Doctored wounds. there is no reason for all 6, and numinas set is too damn expensive
Mudpots - all 6 obliteration. this maximizes damage, defence, recharge. use the multi strike set to bide time until you save up for obliteration
stone skin - 2-3 slots. 1 aegis resist and 1 aegis unique and whatever else
rock armor - I am usually perma granite, so I have one slot with the LotG recharge unique in it.
    Manuvers - LotG unique only
Taunt - all 6 mocking beratement Def plus recharge? sign me up! It is cheap too!
Hurl Boulder - While KB sets have good bonus's and ranged attacks have all sorts of set bonus's, I actually used 6 mocking beratement again/ Its a damn good set. many options and uses for this power.
    Tremor - see mudpots
fault - 5 stupify..or 5 of the purple set. its actually the cheapest purple set just about.
siesmic smash, heavy mallet, etc. For damage: mako's bite, for recharge: C.I.
For good bonus's: Touch of death
Kinetic Combat is expensive but has good def- at 4 slots.
Build up - 2 reticle for 2% damage and an recharge IO

    epic - fire....for fireball only.
posi blast 5 pieces with a recharge IO or decimation or the purple set for recharge
Fireball is your second main AoE and gets aggro and does good damage.
lastly, get fitness, TP...no need for fighting pool unless non granite build
    thanks!

From what I can see, NCSoft's marketing for CoH appears to happen largely by accident. I've heard NCSoft Marketing referred to as a 'silent black pebble' recently. Just last night I mentioned to some friends that NCSoft's marketing department exists solely to hide the existence of City of Heroes from the world at large.

Surely this isn't the case. Someone must buy things like booth space at the various cons and do box art and the like. However, unlike the development decisions for the game, which are largely very transparent to players, marketing is such a closed book that we see stuff like EU players getting reamed or the oddity of pre-ordering a package, but not the item pack and wonder what the hell must be going on.

Crap shovel-ware console games get TONS more exposure and care than one of the more successful MMOs in the business. How does this happen?
This is the most TRUE thing I have read in a while. I say pull a Rhode Island on the crew.

Scare from MM is pretty lame.
Burn is almost useless for tankers since they added "run away from this".
Flurry, Jump Kick, Kick and Boxing are awful. They force redraw, do poor damage. Kick and Boxing are usually only taken for Tough and Weave.
Stimulant is poor, as it is interruptable and a "not-meant-for-combat" combat power.
Team Teleport is the worst power I have ever seen. It costs 50% more end than Teleport and has 25% the range(That's 25 feet). I have never seen any player use it or even take it.
THAT is because you have never been a part of a Fire/Rad RWZ Raid Team, or have done that ST combo. Ask TopDoc.....You have one guy who takes that powerset for the team and does the driving of the group. Team TP may suck, but it does have a use in the right situation!

    Purpled builds

What Sets can fit the most builds? Can someone post me their most legit purple build?
I am starting to have a few of my most prized toons fully IO'd out and am now considering purples as a time sink.
    Thanks!
