Quote:Except... Defenders have a right to skip it out of protest. MM, Corr and Blaster Trip Mine all do the same damage. Defender TM damage is 65% of all of those. That's just lazy. I'm not going to make this a crusade, because I'm afraid the answer may be to adjust MMs to 55% and I like the power way too much on my MM to give that up.
That's a remarkably good point. Or good set of related points... -
Recently seen a lot of RMT on the help channel. So, perhaps they might revisit this, as, as it is, it's not stopping RMTers..
-
I have alts taht have dozens, and some alts that need several.. I'd love a change.. Either a way to flag, I don't want those, gimme any other purple, or something... A way to sell, trade, email or something...
-
Quote:Well, as others have pointed out, if the f2p system is limiting ya, really just ask. Many of us will be happy to help out newcomers. Myself included.. I am annoyed personally that the market isn't open to everyone... It's cool, maybe if inventions aren't open to everyone, but all should at least be able to hock their loot...I will be doing fine, now i know what i been doing wrong, i do not need anyone to send me any cash, ty tho
Where, what or should i say how do i get to RWZ and Cimerora?
But, anyhow, I'll try to keep new folks in the game. I'm not as rich as many, but am rich enough. I find it a better investment to keep a new player than anything else I can buy... -
Love this. Such a decent straightforward guide... Wish I'd had something like this when I was new. Of course, when was new, most of these didn't exist...
Quote:Making inf in the game is pretty much the easiest it's ever been.
The most *effective* ways in terms of earning speed and earning amounts
are:
* WW/BM: The hands-down winner. There are literally dozens of things you can
do here to make as little or as much as you like ... fast. They can be as simple as
just selling your drops, or crafting IOs, or flipping bargain items. Billions, in a few days,
is not all that difficult, and millions are basically unavoidable (even for bad marketeers)
PRO: Fastest, Scales Best, Can be "Fire-and-Forget" (minimal effort/time).
CON: Need Market Access, Need some initial knowledge, Need some basic skills.
The latter two vary depending on what approach(es) you take.
* AE Ticket Farming: This is probably the next fastest
PRO: Nearly as effective as WW/BM. Easy to do with "normal" gameplay (ie. run
missions, kill stuff, profit)
CON: Need AE access, Need to build an optimized toon, Need to find/create an
appropriate arc to maximize results. Can be (and feel) "grindy", and can be quite
time intensive (esp. if you go the random roll/crafting route).
* Content-Farming: This is basically the forerunner to AE farms. Probably a bit slower
than AE farming, but you can get purple drops - just one of those (if it's a decent one,
is worth ~200M-400M ... not too shabby)
PRO: See AE Farming
CON: " " " " (Typically needs an L50 optimized toon)
* Merit-Farming: These include R-Merits, A/V Merits, Astrals - ie. any kind of merit
that can be exchanged for a valuable item (recipe, enhancement, etc.)
PRO: Minimal knowledge and effort needed. Run the appropriate content, get merits,
convert merits to valuable recipes, craft into IOs and sell, or just sell the recipes, profit.
It's a by-product of normal content play.
CON: You still need WW/BM access to sell (for best prices), some merit content is
gated (iStuff, for instance) and may require token tiers to access. It can get a
bit old running the same stuff after awhile (like AE and other content farms)
* Standard Game: Run missions, kill stuff, vendor your drops, profit.
PRO: Easy. Just play the game, sell whatever drops you get...
CON: Slow, slow, slow. If you have BM/WW access, sell there, *but* also look
at using it to make inf more effectively. If you have to vendor stuff, use RWZ store
(for best prices).
* Luck of the Draw: Costume Contests, Trivia Contests, Zone Games ("first to
find me in AP and say "Hi" gets 10Million"), or even some (clever, amusing, genuine)
panhandling can all get you some cash. Heck, several folks here have already
offered to send you some
PRO: Easy - if you can do what the reward requires
CON: Unreliable
In short, it has never been easier to get inf in the game. If you are a purely
free player (no access to anything other than normal Free Content), then you have
it no worse than the I1 - I8 days (pre WW/BM). Earning inf will be slow, but you
only need ~18M over your toon's entire career for SO's.
If you have WW/BM access, you're literally days away from being as rich as you
want to be. A little knowledge, effort and time is all it takes.
If you're looking for a very simple, very safe, beginner's approach to the WW/BM
market, feel free to read the guide in my signature. It's 3+ years old now, but it
works even better these days than it did when I wrote it. Also, there are a number
of very good Market threads right now, and a bunch of good guides there as well.
In any case, welcome back, GLHF!
Regards,

Not a fan of Hover. I'd prefer Combat Jumping any day, but, if concept demands flight, then Hover is a worthwhile substitute...
-
Interesting concept. I agree, that this concept is a comic staple that is under represented in the game at present. As a powered armour type, I'd not prefer it as a blaster, but, that really makes the most sense.
Maybe if they also came out with a tech armour support set, that allowed FF distribution or something...
It has great potential, tho.. -
I'd vote scrapper, but would lobby for a different combo, personally. But, if you're set on it these 2 powers, Scrapper is the way to go..
-
I'd totally support a change that allows the crash to hit early. No down side, all upside. But no serious balance changes needed..
I'd be game for this. I might take em a bit more often, then, but it wouldn't greatly change my outlook. For some alts, I'd just not fell I needed them still. I think like someone suggested, SRs t9 would still be mostly worthless after a certain point.. If SRs t9 also triples the effet from the scaling res bonus, then.. Well, that's a different story.
But for Invul and Elec, I'd take em a lot more often.. -
Any of the support sets can be very supporty, if built that way, even MMs, but that's not really what MMs are best at. Or even Doms.. I'd go with Def, tho, and call it a day. All the best support powers, and earlier than anyone else gets them, with bigger numbers.
If you don't want anchors, Storm might be a solid choice. Freezing Rain comes early, and is that good.. Hurricane is also a game changer.. If you can be careful with KB, it's godly.. The new AE set rocks for that. I'd drop it in Tornado, even with the changes..
But, Rad/anything is hard to beat. Use the toggles when really needed, skip em when ya don't.. AM always, the damage/recharge buff is awesome.. If you slot the toggles for some recharge, you can almost use them always... Slot RI for tohit more than def debuff.. -
So, general comments about general sets and combos...
1) Not really a fan of TW. Don't like the look much.
2) I can respect Regen a lot, in part for having survived over all the nerfs from way back when. But, it's a lot clickier than I'd like, but it is (or can be) very effective, if you know how to build one.
3) Elec/Elec... Way to FotM for me.. I'll never challenge it's efficacy, but I'm not all in on this. I got persuaded to try the FotM build once, and I have always regretted my time invested, and the alt languishes unused..
4) Staff/Elec. I'll have to withhold any feedback until I learn a bit more about Staff, but I can see this potentially being pretty fun. -
Quote:Sounds pretty cool..Ability to enter a special room just like Ouro, but for incarnates, and it is open to both sides instead of being alignment limited, with exits to all city zones in the game, instead of most zones from one side. Then when a hero or villain tries to use the wrong exit, they get the same error message as they do in PD or similar. Then we can give it a work bench for those who still use them at incarnate level, and maybe another bench like in Vanguard for exclusive things, or perhaps just for an alternate way access the Astral/Merit shop without having to leave PD and make a team wait/wait till team ends to do. After that we could give it a market guy, who I don't need due to remote access.
Access to an incarnate chat. -
Personally, I'll admit to not having tried water, but for Storm, I'd always go Defender first. Getting Freezing Rain ASAP is that big a difference.. Not to mention all the other fun stuff.
But, I will admit to a general Def bias... Unless you're talking Fire/ vs /Fire, I'd lean Def most times. Fire's huge difference in favour of Corr's, means I'd go Corr a lot more often where that powerset is concerned.. And the reverse is true with Sonic Blast. With that one, I'd lean Def even more often. -
I like it fine in theory.
Just don't love the bottleneck to get to it. If there were 3 or 4, or even 2 iTrials that could be run to unlock it, I'd be all over it.. With only one choice.. No thanks; I'll wait and see what other avenues I have later on..
I reject the feeling of getting railroaded.. It's not like I don't have tons of alts that I can get IOed, and incarnated up to Destiny/Lore. It's not like I have to obsess over Hybrid while there is only one path.
I'll just wait, and see what other avenues appear...
Otherwise, Hybrid seems fine to me... Not stupid OP, but not worthless by any stretch.. -
And as an aside to the actual question, but still in reference to the OP...
Not sure the Oblit is ideal for Blazing Aura either. It's gives a lot of recharge, which isn't usually needed in a toggle aura, and has very little End Reduction, which is often needed in the damage auras..
Of course, depending on your total build, it might be ideal, but it's not generally the first 'go-to' set for an aura for me. For big hitting, but slow recharging powers, it's awesome, but in auras, not so much.
Again, though, admittedly, it very much depends on your build, but, if Oblit is not being chosen because of set bonuses (and I suspect not if you were considering skipping the set bonuses anyhow to use the proc heavy approach) in this power, I'd consider other IO Sets in this power. -
Of course, you might very well lose set bonuses, and the value of global IOs, but you don't lose the value of slots ever (well, until you lose the power itself that the slots are in).
So, for figuring exemplar purposes, you don't need to worry about when a slot was taken at all. Just all the other stuff. -
I suspect perhaps that maybe previously you might have been playing radios or other, older missions, and perhaps these last few examples were running tips.
It seems that tips missions have a slightly higher level of difficultly than older mission on the same settings.
I'm not sure exactly why that is, but I have some suspicions.
But, the short answer to your question, as others have said, is no, there haven't been any global tanker nerfs lately. -
Quote:I haven't ever heard that statement before now.I hear the statement often: Willpower is nowhere near as strong as Invuln. This comment seems to be stated as universal truth. It is true bout Smash and Lethal. But I was very curious about the rest.
It's also very wrong.
Both are strong sets, that get a lot stronger with a careful build plan and IO investment.
Both have areas where they out shine the other, though, and both have holes. Some of the holes can be patched via the above mentioned careful IO build, to varying degrees. Both end up very good to a wide variety of situations, but, they still won't be identical in all situations, but they will stay comparable to each other overall, assuming roughly equal investment in both.
Kudos to you for trying to prove the point, though. I love to see bad information debunked.
Well done! -
Quote:Since we are talking about animation supression, would be cool to:
Use heal pool without tricoder
Activate fighting pool toggles without chest beating stupid animation
...
These would be nice, too, I'll agree. Maybe someday.
Speaking of someday, maybe we'll also see some customization love for HEATs/VEATs at some point. I'd love a few more choices of claws, maces, and guns, too, but, I certainly am not holding my breath. -
Although I haven't poked around in Hero Stats in a while, I bet it monitors incoming info, and doesn't need to send info anywhere.
That being said, with a decent firewall, you should be able to block the program's ability to send data out, without harming it's ability to function as advertised, if that's the main concern. -
I use a setup that sounds almost identical to Claws' too and it works fine the vast majority of the time.
The one time where I also have this problem is area targeted affects. IN this case, I don't happen to know a mouseless way to target, and it can be bothersome.
So, perhaps I should look into the Cursor patch StarGeek has recommended.. -
I've heard several folks state that with the arrival of the anticipated proc changes that Aim will be a great spot for the gaussians proc.
If that is so, would Build Up be an equally good spot, or is it coded somehow that the Gaussians Build Up doesn't stack with a normal build up. Obviously the steath procs stack with Stealth (but they obviously can't be slotted in Stealth itself).
As near as I can tell, the Gaussians Proc could/can be slotted into build up.
Input? -
I could support a way to flag some drops as junk.
I could also support the ability to delete more than one thing at a time.
I could also support filters of some editable type.
I could also support the recycle bins ideas.
All of the above have some merit to them.
Not gonna hold my breath on any of the above, but it'd be nice to see any and all of them, I think, in some form. -
It's is very minor, but none the less, annoying.
When opening your recipe list, all the recipe headings are collapsed, except 'Memorized,' that one defaults to always be expanded. If possible, could it be changed such that all the headings were collapsed by default when opened, or, if not, defaulted to open or closed based on which was left as the last time the recipe list was opened? -
Quote:If I liked the DfB enough to run it all the time, you can bet, I'd have a special build for it. Not sure if I'd six slot Brawl or not, but I'd consider it.Me? I don't care if people do dfb. Sorta related I guess, but I do not like getting random group requests in Atlas though.
I'm asking because I'm curious if people make special builds for it. I have seen a group on my server (months back) advertise they were a Professional Sewer Team.
