How do you?
I found out what i been doing wrong. I need to sell the Enhancements i get to the corrrect store and the salvage ect.. to put on WW.
So i am fine now, i was just doing things wrong
What server are you playing on? Are you f2p or vip? Both make a big difference to money making. The answer is to farm and farm a lot. It is easier if you are vip. You can use AE and also get salvage. If you are f2p you need to play on a high pop server like virtue or freedom to team a lot.
You'll need to have access to the Auction House, a VIP feature which you can unlock through the "Paragon Rewards" system as a tier 4 bonus. You can also purchase a temporary Auction-House licence from the market-place (cash shop).
Once you've acquired access to the Auction House you can sell general salvage and recipes that you do not want to make some spending money. Aside from that, it's just the basic practice of buying low, and selling high.
Most people make their money by selling things at the auction houses (Wentworths hero-side, Black Market villain-side). You can make a lot of money selling high-priced items there. However, if you're a free player, or a premium player without that level of access, then it will be tough the first time through getting money for enhancements that you need right off the bat.
I will say, however, that as you gain levels, you'll find yourself able to buy SOs with just enough money, and then further on you'll have more than enough money to buy the next level SOs. So it does get easier even if you're just doing normal content.
Or, you can turn off XP, and play through content. Then you'll just gain influence.
Or, if you're lucky, one of the nice forum goers will send you some cash.
Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

Most players with lots of influence make it by selling expensive IOs but unfortunately as a free player you don't have access to that.
One good option is to try and run the low level Death From Below trial. You get 3-4 even level SOs per run which isn't bad since even if you don't need the specific ones that drop you can sell them for Inf.
That being said what's your global? I'd be happy to email you a bit of inf for SOs .
Th easiest way to make Influence/Infamy IMO is through the market, selling lucky drops as you get them. If your account is able to use the IO system I'd suggest skipping SOs and DOs as you'll out level them fairly quickly. You might even find some IOs for cheap on the market.
You can also run task forces and use the merits rewarded to either roll random recipes to sell or outright purchase ones you either need or are in high demand in the market.
Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?
Arc Name: Tsoo In Love
Arc ID: 413575
If you are free-to-play, you're earning a lot less cash than VIPs as you don't get salvage and recipes. This stuff is where the big bucks are, on the ingame market.
Having enough to buy SOs can be a struggle on a f2p first character up until lvl 35 or so. You're not doing anything wrong.
You should post your global here, so people can send you at least enough inf to afford SOs.
I will be doing fine, now i know what i been doing wrong, i do not need anyone to send me any cash, ty tho
Where, what or should i say how do i get to RWZ and Cimerora?
Cimerora is entered through the Midnighter Club which can be accessed from Steel Canyon, Founder's Falls, Croatoa or Cap au Diable. In order to access the Midnighter Club you have to first become a member by doing a story arc from either Montague Castanella (blueside) or Ashley McKnight (redside). Alternatively you can get the "House Hunter" Exploration Badge in Night Ward.

Back in the "old days" before the auction house, it was common to not be able to afford enhancements, especially SOs when they first become available. Sure you should be able to buy a few but IIRC I wouldn't be fully SOed until the low 30s.
Since standard enhancements wear out you constantly need to repurchase them to keep them fresh and since leveling is faster nowadays one way to pause and earn more INF is to turn off XP for a while. You will still get INF and enhancement drops and at least in Paragon City a lot of content in the 20-30 range.
So you could shut off XP for a play session and sell the enhancements in the stores that pay more.

Hi, i been playing this game for almost 3 weeks now about 1-2 days per week. I solo alot when i cant find a team, my character is lvl 28 brute. What i like to know is what is the secret of gaining a lot of influence(cash)?

The most *effective* ways in terms of earning speed and earning amounts
are:
* WW/BM: The hands-down winner. There are literally dozens of things you can
do here to make as little or as much as you like ... fast. They can be as simple as
just selling your drops, or crafting IOs, or flipping bargain items. Billions, in a few days,
is not all that difficult, and millions are basically unavoidable (even for bad marketeers)
PRO: Fastest, Scales Best, Can be "Fire-and-Forget" (minimal effort/time).
CON: Need Market Access, Need some initial knowledge, Need some basic skills.
The latter two vary depending on what approach(es) you take.
* AE Ticket Farming: This is probably the next fastest
PRO: Nearly as effective as WW/BM. Easy to do with "normal" gameplay (ie. run
missions, kill stuff, profit)
CON: Need AE access, Need to build an optimized toon, Need to find/create an
appropriate arc to maximize results. Can be (and feel) "grindy", and can be quite
time intensive (esp. if you go the random roll/crafting route).
* Content-Farming: This is basically the forerunner to AE farms. Probably a bit slower
than AE farming, but you can get purple drops - just one of those (if it's a decent one,
is worth ~200M-400M ... not too shabby)
PRO: See AE Farming
CON: " " " " (Typically needs an L50 optimized toon)
* Merit-Farming: These include R-Merits, A/V Merits, Astrals - ie. any kind of merit
that can be exchanged for a valuable item (recipe, enhancement, etc.)
PRO: Minimal knowledge and effort needed. Run the appropriate content, get merits,
convert merits to valuable recipes, craft into IOs and sell, or just sell the recipes, profit.
It's a by-product of normal content play.
CON: You still need WW/BM access to sell (for best prices), some merit content is
gated (iStuff, for instance) and may require token tiers to access. It can get a
bit old running the same stuff after awhile (like AE and other content farms)
* Standard Game: Run missions, kill stuff, vendor your drops, profit.
PRO: Easy. Just play the game, sell whatever drops you get...
CON: Slow, slow, slow. If you have BM/WW access, sell there, *but* also look
at using it to make inf more effectively. If you have to vendor stuff, use RWZ store
(for best prices).
* Luck of the Draw: Costume Contests, Trivia Contests, Zone Games ("first to
find me in AP and say "Hi" gets 10Million"), or even some (clever, amusing, genuine)
panhandling can all get you some cash. Heck, several folks here have already
offered to send you some
PRO: Easy - if you can do what the reward requires
CON: Unreliable
In short, it has never been easier to get inf in the game. If you are a purely
free player (no access to anything other than normal Free Content), then you have
it no worse than the I1 - I8 days (pre WW/BM). Earning inf will be slow, but you
only need ~18M over your toon's entire career for SO's.
If you have WW/BM access, you're literally days away from being as rich as you
want to be. A little knowledge, effort and time is all it takes.
If you're looking for a very simple, very safe, beginner's approach to the WW/BM
market, feel free to read the guide in my signature. It's 3+ years old now, but it
works even better these days than it did when I wrote it. Also, there are a number
of very good Market threads right now, and a bunch of good guides there as well.
In any case, welcome back, GLHF!
Regards,

There are some great guides on how to make money in this game and they can be found in the Market & Inventions subforums. One that I have found to be particularly outstanding is by Organica: Zero to Awesome Redeux! 31 Day Project.
The beauty of using the Auction House/Black Market is that you can net large amounts of "cash" in relatively small amounts of game time. The only difficult part is overcoming the initial learning curve. The only requirement is that you need access to IOs and the Auction House/Black Market.
Being a VIP will help *a lot* because it will give you more opportunities to generate "phat lewt".
Good luck.
Most are overlooking the fact the OP is a F2P/Premium player and most likely not getting iSalvage and recipe drops and/or has no access to the CH/BM.
I have a couple of characters currently parked in their mid 20s and the orange salvage and desirable recipes has grated then over 10 mil apiece which would be enough to keep a character in SOs all the way to 50 so no real trick there is required except the ability to sell stuff at the CH/BM.
Otherwise it's pre-issue 9 techniques of running store to store every few missions to afford SOs.

Listen to Father Xmas. If you're free to play, you're basically playing the game as it was played in the old days before the invention system, and it was always nearly impossible to earn enough money to afford all of your SOs in the mid-levels (20-30). Then somewhere around level 35-40, you started earning more money than you needed and could buy whatever you wanted (which, back then, basically meant more SOs... you could buy extras and combine them, and be "really tricked out").

What is your global?
<--Philanthropist for newbies.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
Ask someone for money. I dont mean..hang around WW and beg. That will get you slapped. I mean..ASK, nicely. On of the most annoying things I found when I started this game, was that in playing 'normally' you did not actually seem to earn enough money to update yourself every 5 lvls.
So it was basically..borrow money off someone, then when you start your new toon, trade yourself money..from your now non lowbie.
Of course..the market helps a lot there..but not everyone wants to play it, or enjoys it. ANd neither should we have to. Ask someone nice
Love this. Such a decent straightforward guide... Wish I'd had something like this when I was new. Of course, when was new, most of these didn't exist...
Making inf in the game is pretty much the easiest it's ever been.

Let me also point out here that the INF cap on F2P/Premium player in quite low, relatively speaking. 25 million at Tier 1, 500 million at Tier 2 and 1 billion at Tier 3.
Pointing this out so some sugar daddy doesn't try to drop a billion on her that most would be loss.
