A couple of years back I was teaming with the guy that got me in to playing this game. He couldn't find that side tunnel that'd not been explored on the map. I suggested he use the Zoom function, to which his reply was "What zoom function?"
All these years playing and he didn't know... those tiny weeny + and - signs at the side of the map are on a slider and will zoom in and out -
There are already loads of player created Roleplay channels for RPers to chat on
-
I always hoped to see a police car or ambulance hurtling along after hearing the sirens in the distance, and then be able to follow them to a random mission where you help the police out.
-
Phew! I'm safe then, Kall usually looks like Kall
(albeit a lot smaller in real life and there's no wheelchair rig in CoH
)

At level 10 I once got to fight the fabled Siren's Call Phantoms (who never actually made it in to the game) who appeared at level 20 in my bugged paper mission.

39. Leave his body at the cloning plant with a big bow tied around it.
-
Now that we don't have to leave Praetoria at level 20, and can go on to do the First Ward arcs, I think the Tailor should have a mission (like the one's hero and villain side) to get another costume slot.

All of the maps seem to be Unknown, except for Midnighter Club, and Underground Nova.... The old Breakout map is also available.
Edit: Port Oakes is also available on some servers. -
It was as if a million voices all cried out....
I managed to queue up to get on Virtue, but then it couldn't find a map... same on Union, except for the queuing. -
The last time I was brave and clicked the LFG for a trial (I can't recall which one) it gave me the time of 5 minutes. I was still waiting 1 hour and 27 minutes later. I gave up in the end.
I'm on Union and tend to play at odd times, so maybe that's why.
If they could somehow make it a cross server instance, it would help a lot. Having the pop up option of "Minimum players have joined, would you like to wait till more join or proceed to Trial?". It could go with the most votes?
Or as Scarlet Shocker suggested, everyone get's ported to the Matrix Room in PI and clicks on a contact in there. -
In one of the new DA missions:
You're led into the heart of the Zig, with some difficulty, do to your status as a villain. Now you'll just have to deal with the PPD that are guarding Director 11.
Do what to my status? -
Is it that the flower vendor also sells boxes of chocolates?

Hope you have fun wherever you're off to, and thank you for giving my 1940's monologuing private eye something to do for a few weeks
Meanwhile, somewhere in deepest darkest Salamanca a phone was ringing. Soft jazz music was filtering down through the cracks in the pavement in to a basement office. An office cluttered with case files, filing cabinets and a lone private eye, lit by a single desk lamp...
I picked up the phone and held it away from my ear for a moment letting the static crackle dissipate. Damn this odd place with all it's spooks and magic, interfering with even old fashioned phones like mine.
"Hello, Knightly Affairs Detective Agency, Dirk Knightly speaking. How may I be of service?"
There was a strange 'cawing' noise in the background, a seagull? I wondered if the person, or whatever it was, on the other end of the line was going to say anything. Surely this couldn't be a lead on that talking seagull I'd been chasing all these months?
There was a sharp crack of a gun going off, a splosh as something hit a large body of water and then silence. Had the seagull shot someone, or had someone shot the seagull? The phone went dead as whoever, whatever, it was hung up. -

Quote:Yup! For the third year running my Unofficial Meet will be taking place the second weekend in September and has been stickied both at the top of this forum, and at the top of the General forum too (so non VIP's can let me know if they'd like to come).
As it is, Omega Sektor no longer exists. It's just a gutted shell of a building in the middle of Brum now. But there will be the Unofficial Meet this September which also takes place in Birmingham. The thread for it should be very close to this one in the European Lounge.
We did have a special guest in the form of White Sands from the Brighton NCSoft office back in 2010, but he unfortunately couldn't make it to last years event. I'm still hoping to try and kidnap someone for this years meet, even if it is just a random person :P
It's a shame Omega Sektor had to close, as it would've been ideal. At least Global Gaming is just around the corner though -
Quote:Yep, I was there - had a great (if half asleep) time running Taskforce Omega (I still have the custom character from Team Solid (and one of the shirts made for the team)).
Anyone know if this is still in place?
Shame I'm no longer in the UK.
Yep! The names are still in Firebase ZuluI happened across a couple I recognised a week ago or so.

Quote:The thing is, I've just logged in to a character that's not been online for 8 days. I just did part 1 and was able to choose an Astral Merit. Parts 2-5 will NOT let me choose an Astral Merit.No.
The first time you play an SSA, you get one freebie reward for every separate episode. Then you can play any of the SSAs and get one extra choice of that reward, once per week.
So since we have parts 1-5, you should be able to get 6 of one reward (e.g. 6 alignment merits) in one day (or whatever length of time it takes you to complete them). Part 1 freebie, part 2 freebie, part 3 freebie, part 4 freebie, part 5 freebie, weekly reward.
Obligatory wiki link: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Signature_Story_Arc
So, basically after I've run all 5 parts for the first time, I can only ever after get 1 Astral Merit per week?
Apologies if I appear to be repeating myself, I just find it confusing is all. -
I thought it was just me going crazy and forgetting what days I've run them on. This explains a lot.
I did 1-5 on my Vigilante level 50 on hero side around 2 weeks ago. I claimed an Astral Merit on each run, and then repeated the 1st SSA to get the extra one (so a total of 6 Astral Merits).
I couldn't remember which day I did them on so waited 7 or more days and tried to do them again. The first SSA let me pick the Astral Merit reward. The 2nd and 3rd SSA told me I'd got to wait 7 days to claim that reward, so I gave up. I've not been able to claim more than 1 Astral Merit since.
I should add that I've also been running them on my Villain character red side. I'm beginning to wonder if somehow one is interfering with the other. -
Please can we have an actual timer on the SSA's that tells us how long we actually have to wait till we can repeat them instead of the " You do not meet the time constraints for this reward. You can only receive this reward from repeating Signature Story Arcs once every 7 days." blurb.
I can never remember when I've done them, so having something similar to the timer on the Tip/Alignment bars would be good. Either that or just a "You have X amount of days before this Reward can be claimed" X being how many days you have left. I'm getting sick of doing them only to discover right at the end that I've still got to wait an unknown amount of time to get the reward.
Even just a simple "SSA last completed on X" would be helpful. -
Maybe I'm just weird or something, but I actually enjoy reading other people's bio's. Doesn't matter how long or how short they are either.
*shrugs* -
With the tech already in game to cause the map to go sepia/b&W at the beginning and end of missions in Ouroboros flashbacks, would it be possible to port it over so we have the option to do AE missions in sepia/B&W?
I for one would love to be able to make film noir-esque style AE arcs where missions would be in sepia/b&w. They'd be perfect for my monologuing 1940's detective :P Or perhaps a mission where you have to travel back in time, or a dream, so you can distinguish between what's present and what's not.
If not the entire mission/arc then perhaps have the option to fade in / fade out to sepia at the beginning and end of the missions as in Ouroboros? -
