    Kheldian Fashion

Here's my first and still favorite Warshade, Iscariot, recently redesigned his look with various bells and whistles available to me and fairly pleased with the overall effect.

  2. Logically speaking, it should be either 1 or 2, since the game to my knowledge only has two other language variants other than English. If 1 turns out to be French, then 2 is German, and vice versa.

That, or you can use slash commands. /screenshotui 1 will turn on the UI in screenshots, and /screenshotui 0 will turn it back off again.
  4. While it's true that Sherlock Holmes fans have greatly inflated Irene Adler's status given the number of stories in which she appears, the same can also be said of Moriarty himself. It's probably one of the earliest modern examples of fans inflating or expanding a romantic relationship in fiction (at least that readily comes to mind, though I imagine it's not completely unique in that respect).

So while the novels themselves may not build up Irene Adler quite to the status she's attained among fans of Sherlock Holmes over the years, I still felt that she should have been better used or else not used at all - her character doesn't really add much to either film, at least in my opinion, which is a shame, and I never really got a sense that she was even close to an intellectual match for Holmes which is her whole claim to fame in the first place apart from being a romantic interest for him.
  5. Warning: Several fairly major spoilers below.

I didn't like this one as much as the first, mostly because it wasn't really a mystery so much as an action flick. I did like both films, but I felt the mystery in the first one wasn't really all that good and was hoping for better this time. Instead there wasn't really a mystery at all, which I found disappointing.

That said, excellent acting all around on the roles of Holmes, Watson, Moriarty and Moran. That was very well done and even though any Holmes fan likely knew the ending the moment they saw the waterfall, it was still very well executed. Moriarty in particular was everything I could have asked for and then some.

I was also disappointed that they killed off Irene Adler, more or less offscreen, and although there is some subtle callback to it later in the film it really doesn't seem to hit Holmes as hard as it should. However, I wasn't all that overwhelmed with Rachel McAdams in the role and felt she was easily the weakest in this great cast, so that might be a big factor in the decision to write her out - even so, it's a shame to see the character of Irene Adler shrugged off. I would have liked to have seen some sign that he hadn't entirely forgotten the love of his life at the end of the film rather than more goofy camouflage antics, but there it is.
  6. Is it possible for a PB to do it, using all tools available (including incarnate abilities and temp powers) - yes, it should be, though it'd be a challenging fight. For a PB using only regular and pool powers, no, not possible, you would need lots of temps and almost certainly incarnate powers including Lore pets on top of that.
  7. I don't know if you have access to Inventions or not - if so, this might be a situation in which you'd pick up a mule power, a power you don't intend to actually use but you do intend to slot for IO Set bonuses.

If you don't have Inventions then you might consider getting Spring Attack since you already have so much from the Leaping pool or perhaps take Recall Friend from the teleportation pool since as a Stalker you may often be in a position to 'ghost' past groups of enemies and teleport your teammates to an objective for swift mission completion.
  8. More or less the above. You really need to be on global channels to see a lot of the chatter as the game is even more heavily instanced than it used to be so you won't see many folks using broadcast or even SG/coalition chat all that much for organizing teaming or other tasks.

The VIP-only incarnate content means that many longtime players are working on their 50s rather than playing their alts at least some of the time, so that's also a factor. Add in the holiday season and the recent release of several popular new games with crossover appeal (including a very well-received new RPG game from Bethesda and a long-awaited new MMO) and you more or less have your answer.
  9. Lots. At last count I had 112 characters. I tend to rotate through periods of high activity on various servers. At the moment I'm mostly active on Triumph, Liberty, Justice and Victory over about a dozen characters, including five characters I'm actively trying to fully incarnate. Many of the rest are either 50s available at need but that I'm not badging or incarnating or else they're up-and-coming alts. I tend to level them by doing occasional Weekly Strike Targets task forces.

I believe you're referring to Time Trax. Good show.

Timecop, on the other hand... yeah.
  11. Assuming for the moment that you are an Energy/Energy blaster, you might consider reworking the character as a Blapper. I did that with an Energy/Energy guy I had that I'd neglected for some time, and it completely changed the way he played for me. There are some great melee attacks in the Energy secondary and there's a certain visceral fun (for me, anyway) in playing a glass cannon character in melee range.

Just throwing it out there as an option since it seems you're looking to retool the character anyway.
  12. As stated above, Paragonwiki.com is the unparalled source for current game info. Never use the wikia site as it is often wrong, almost always out of date, and contains malware.

You can also find many useful guides to various specific powersets or aspects of the game posted here on these forums, and any particular questions you might have can always be answered here in Player Questions.

As for ED, it has more to do with a certain % of enhancement after which diminishing returns applies rather than being tied to the number of enhancements you use - certain very good enhancements such as high-end IOs can reach ED caps with only two of the same type, for instance. Enhancement Diversification is a part of the game and has been for years now, so it's unlikely to go anywhere, though there are aspects of the Incarnate system that bypass ED to a degree.
  13. It would really help to see a Mids build here, but off the top of my head the first things that come to mind are whether or not you have adequate endurance reduction in your attacks and what Alpha you are using. I'm also curious which ancillary pool you went with as there are some endurance management tools available there.
  14. I would most certainly advise keeping Taunt. Gauntlet alone has never been all that effective even when leveraged to the very best effect, and in incarnate trials you have to keep in mind the staggering amount of power being thrown around. If you intend to tank and not just be a very tough scrapper (i.e. if you want to manage aggro in a significant way), you most likely need Taunt.

There are specific niches in which it is invaluable, and it is very useful in many other situations (clearing mobs from terminals on Keyes, trading aggro with another Tanker or Brute to avoid Sequestration on BAF, and taunting various tough AVs. The Avatar of Hamdion in the UGT really needs to be turned away from the team if he's to be defeated easily, and you'll want Taunt for that as well.
  15. I don't know DC well, barely more than an acquaintance, but he and his family have my best wishes. It sounds as though hospice is the best thing to make his last days the best they can be under these terrible circumstances, and my thoughts and prayers will be with him. Sad news.
  16. To clarify, you can buy increases to number of enhancements, salvage and recipes you can hold from the Market - this is most likely what you were thinking of.

    FF/Beam?

Because of the prevalence of Defense from higher-end IO builds, Force Fields is sometimes said to be marginalized in the late game since its primary focus is on +Defense buffs. If a given player is already at or near softcap on multiple types of damage or multiple positions, then the +Def from Force Fields adds very little.

That said, the softcap is higher in incarnate Trials and few players in my experience are built to that new softcap. Even factoring in frequent use of Destiny buffs like Barrier, I would say Force Fields still has a place there. The positioning (mostly KB or KD) powers are also very useful if you get good at using them intelligently - that is, NOT scattering mobs about to be AoE'd to death or pushing the tanker's targets away from him, etc - and Detention Field while situational is very useful in certain circumstances.

Also keep in mind the above only applies to people with IO builds that build for Defense, which while a significant part of IO builds is not everyone, and automatically excludes free to play players who must upgrade to VIP or buy a license to use Inventions at all. FF is a still a great set, you just have to understand the current environment you're stepping into.
  18. I've played both to 50. It would be helpful to have a clearer idea of what you're wanting out of each of these characters (or what you generally prioritize for your characters overall) when giving advice, but here's some general compare/contrast comments:

Mercs was my first MM. It isn't the most popular, but if played well it is a solid primary. The Commando adds a huge boost in damage and the SpecOps throw out very good control and debuff. The Soldiers are okay, and the Medic will tend to run up and get himself killed but is useful when he's around. Aside from the Medic, most of the time your pets should be able to fight from range and survive most things. I would consider this the primary attraction for choosing Mercs over Thugs, especially at the low levels.

Thugs is higher damage, especially with the Arsonist in the mix, though he also tends to get himself killed quite a bit. Overall you're going to be resummoning more often with Thugs and the Bruiser is a melee combatant. You'll want to make an effort to keep him and your upgraded Enforcers alive for the damage and the buffs, and just resummon the bottom tier thugs as needed. Gang War is a powerful draw here as it is likely the best 'flavor' power out of any of the MM primaries (considerably more useful than Serum).

As always, my final advice is to play what you want and will enjoy. Thugs/Dark is likely the more powerful character here, but Mercs/Dark is certainly viable. I'd also recommend either picking up a hold in your ancillary/patron pools or else keeping Petrifying Gaze if you plan to run a lot of TFs (thinking specifically of the LGTF here). I can understand skipping it as it really is not a very good hold, but it is a hold nonetheless. You could always have it in a second build and switch over just when doing Lady Gray though, I suppose.
  19. Simple - it's sold offmarket, often via the forums. I post what I have and my price, then you contact me and we arrange the transaction
  20. The PvP IO +3% Def proc often goes for around 2.5 billion, but most purples and pvp IOs go for a few hundred million or so. More for some of the damage purples and purple procs.

    Alignment Merits

You need to have run a morality mission to be eligible (i.e. if you began the game as hero and are doing hero SSAs, you will need to run 10 hero tips and do the hero morality to confirm alignment to be eligible).

Eligible characters can earn one Merit for each of of the arcs. You can also earn one additional Merit from repeating any SSA arc once/week.

An eligible character who had never claimed any Merits from SSAs could thus earn 5 Merits in one session (one for each SSA and one more for repeating any one SSA arc), thereafter the character can only earn one/week repeating SSAs but can earn a bonus Merit when a new SSA comes out by running it for the first time.
  22. Yeah, I don't think its an oversight in the slightest. It is already a bit overpowered in its current state affecting only your team, especially if boosted with Power Boost. If it does get changed, I doubt it would be a buff.
  23. I wouldn't put it quite so dramatically, but I would like to see someone making claims that blatantly contradict both my experience and the experience of other posters whom I consider to be very knowledgeable on this subject produce something to back up what he says. If the problem really is with the powerset and not with the build, that shouldn't be an issue.

Although I very much doubt such a player would listen to feedback even if he did post his build, it's very likely Dechs or others in this thread could provide help to improve it. So yes, I'd like to tear his build apart, mostly to understand how his experience could be anywhere near as bad as he claims and point out areas for improvement both for his benefit and that of anyone following this thread. Of course, the other possibility to consider is that he's merely trolling and there never was any build to examine, but that's as may be.
  24. Fortunately, there are these enhancements called Endurance Reduction which can help with that, and since the power in question is so powerful that it can heal you to full health with just a few enemies hit, you really don't need to enhance much else other than recharge

As previously stated multiple times, the Theft of Essence proc makes a huge difference as well and overall Dark Armor benefits tremendously from intelligent use of IOs since they allow virtually all the negatives inherent in the powerset to be mitigated or outright cirucumvented (i.e. KB protection).

If you're going to limit the discussion to SOs only and count both Dark Regen and Cloak of Fear, you can probably make the case that DA is heavy in terms of endurance usage, though personally I find OG more effective and it costs next to nothing. I've played DA on SOs and while Dark Regeneration is a beast in terms of endurance cost, that's one power and a very good power at that. The rest of the set, aside from Cloak of Fear, isn't as bad as others like to make it out to (as another hyperbolic poster said, 'asthmatic') If you're playing with an SO build, slot end reduction in Dark Regen (and in your attacks, obviously). People make it sound like the endurance costs are so bad that you'll have to rest after every spawn or that you'll be running out of end and dying while trying to fight - and barring a truly terrible build that doesn't manage its attacks well, that just isn't the case. I notice the one making those 'asthmatic' claims never did bother to post his build as others requested.
  25. At tier 4 you'll get the same defense debuff values regardless of which you choose, which makes the choice between more damage (Core) and getting ToHit Debuff (Radial). Since you can already get close to the to-hit floor using Darkest Night and Dark Servant, I would say the extra damage is the better path.

For incarnate trials in particular, you should be able to debuff the regular guys fine once you get your level shifts and the big guys will resist the debuffs anyway - so going for damage makes the most sense. YMMV, but that's my perspective.
