I think its just shy of one trillion. NOt really sure on this since I don't think anyone has ever gotten even remotely close to that number.

Ummm...isn't it a 2 Billion limit on one character?

If you mean the most one individual character can hold, it's 2 billion. Also, I think jwbullfrog might wanna double-check the information he has before he makes hypothesis like that.

Then how do people afford to buy purple sets?

nope, I'm just as entitled to post wild guesses based on little actual fact as anyone else on this forum.

2 Billion? really? ok, I now know.

Do you mean how can people buy things that cost more than 2 billion INF? People can easily arrange to meet in game where they arrange to transfer several chunks of INF from either multiple characters or swapping it in from holding bids on the market.

A ViP character can have a maximum of 2 Billion inf on hand.

That said, you can effectively *store* inf in the market using transaction slots
to hold bids on A: Items that don't actually exist in-game (ie. L53 IOs) or
B: Bids on existing bids that are unlikely to fill (eg. 500M on a Glad Armor Proc
that normally goes for 2B)

I forget the max number of marketing slots a toon can have, but I have seen
a .jpg from one of our marketeers that had 16B stored up that way.

Finally, you can also store 999M on a single gleemail, and you have a limit of
20 gleemails, so there's another ~20B you could have available to any of your
toons.

Yeah but if you were just guessing where did you come up with something like "just shy of a trillion"?
Why not exactly one trillion or even a googolplex while you were at it?

Over time...

Also, using gleemail, and/or market slots, you can *access* a LOT of inf if you
have it and need to get at it.

If you have ~20 market slots with ~2B stored in each, along with your 2B "cash"
you're already sitting on 42 Billion on a single toon...

Actually, I was shooting for the odds. Since the game can register 1 billion, it made sense that the counter could go up to 999 billion.

Hence, just shy of one trillion.

You do realize they also drop in game, yes?

And that not all the sets are "zomgbillionz" priced? (Or, frankly, that they're even worth it?)

And that you can get them through other means? (Like running trials constantly, and I *believe* alignment merits?)

If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I suppose. But using your logic the "counter" could have just as easily gone to 99 billion or 9999 billion too. Just something to ponder I guess.

Paragon Wiki to the rescue.

Free players are limited to an INF cap of 25 Million per character. Premiums have that same limit until they fill Tier 4 on the Paragon Rewards shrub. Once they fill Tier 4, the INF cap changes to 2 Billion.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Oh excellent.
I'll have to confer with one of my SG mates (Preem) about that.
I'm assuming they are also able to use the gl-email to store a bit more?

Maybe Im thinking to high priced because I havent actually ever bought a purp....whats the most expensive generally go for?

The PvP IO +3% Def proc often goes for around 2.5 billion, but most purples and pvp IOs go for a few hundred million or so. More for some of the damage purples and purple procs.

Many purples tend be in the 200-400 million range. Of course some of the less desirable ones can go for as little as 5-10 million and I've seen others go for well over 500 million.

As Justaris just said the IOs that tend to be the most valuable (as in more than 2 billion) are the super rare PvP IOs.

I would think that would be possible, but my Premium hasn't filled Tier 4 so can't test it (not to mention that I'd be having to transfer all of the INF from all of my characters on the main account to reach that mark). It's possible that one of our Justice folks has an alt account that's got Tier 4 filled (8 Reward Tokens earned) that can test that for us. I'm thinking maybe Abraxxus, Uber Guy or Bionic Flea.

I'd ask Rangle but everyone would assume it's related to one of his Plots. Same for Warboss.

OK, I know I'm numerically challenged but that just sounds wrong. How can something sell for 2.5 billion but nobody can ever have more than 2 billion in their pocket.

Even if you somehow manage to buy it, the seller can't take in their profits. Well, perhaps with the market fees but there's still something wrong with that picture.

There are a few purple recipes that are hovering around eight hundred million for the impatient. There are a few of the pvp IO's that range from one to over two billion.

I have a "Banker" character that holds most of my cash, and who has the base where I store my best sets.

currently I am working on a big build. Deleted a lot of characters, etc. and moved the cash to this guy. I am trying to remember exactly here. He currently has 5-7 billion. He is holding just short of 2 bill in cash. He has a couple 1 bill for 2 enhancers bid on the market, and 2 bill bid on another (a true bid, not a holding bid like the other 2) This is not a ton of cash in today's game. It ain't broke, but it aint the 1% either. Not sure how other folks do it, but I like to centralize. Marketeers have whole strategies of alts so they can really work their market niches, and I am sure they not only have tons more cash, but store it very differently than me.

never store your large chunks of Inf in e-mail. Good way to transfer, bad place to store. It can get deleted, and then you gotta work with a CS rep for a week to get it back.

GL.

Simple. Via Gleemail.

Step 1. Send me 900B in Gleemail
Step 2. Send me 900B in Gleemail
Step 3. Send me 700B in Gleemail

Step 4. I send you IO in Gleemail.

Done.
