I just kept refreshing the page all day in the hope that the forums would load on the next click.

Thats a personal choice my friend. It depends on what YOU want to do. Solo AOE? Team AOE? AV Killer? PvP?
Hell, I'm slowly Purpleing out an AR/Trap and I get laughed at all the time. But, hey, it floats my boat...It's all about boat floating around here....So what floats your boat? -
I'll trade criticals to have gauntlet and defiance added as inherants.
Thanks. -
i nevers invite regens to mah teams. they are teh gimp.
-
A few months back I wanted a Traps/AR defender as a good version of my main (See sig). But with Rogue coming up, and 49+ levels of AR/Trap behind me, I doubt that I'll be making one anytime soon. The set is really great once you get it up there with some IO bonues though. The only thing thats concerning is the amount of damage the defender version of AR will do. The Corruptor version feels ultra weak at the lower levels.

I think all powers should have the option of being invisible...It would be like stealth-farting.
Stealthfartingftw -
I think it's a good idea. I prefer the name Defendilibriumtionageonitism. More descriptive.

I usually give a warning before I join a team that I may have to exit quickly due to RL stuff.
Everyone has always been cool with that. I turned down a TF invite one or twive with this reasoning, and they still wanted me to join.
I will also quit teams that don't move or hit a dead end and can't pull it together. I quit a team the other day, cause everyone wold just run off in different directions. NO organiaation whatsoever.
When this happens, sometime wish there was a /forceduel within a team. -
I'm surprised that so few have supported the OPs arguments. Yes, early on, defenders do pretty well. But in
the later game, controllers with their pets out, their holds fully slotted will totally perform better than a defender. Granted there are some exceptions to this, but defenders have long needed somethig else to make up for the perfomance gap.
Playing late game, hands down, I'd rather have a controller than a defender. -
Actually, if the game stays around long enough, and the inf cap is ultimatly raised as a result of inflationary pressures...then someday we all may look back and laugh at the fact that we thought 2 billion was alot.
-
Also. It would be nice to be able to change the animations of the vet powers. A "Hand Blast" instead of the nemesis staff would be nice.
I think the power pools will have the color change options eventually, but have my fingers crossed for the vet powers. -

I haven't seen this asked yet, but what happens to a supergroup if the leader switches sides?
I'd imagine the easiest thing to implement (and thus, most probable outcome) is a blanket statement that "if you switch sides, you leave your SG." The only difference if a superleader quits is that someone else gets promoted to superleader, just like with the auto-demotion system we have now. It works, I guess, and makes some amount of sense. If the leader switches sides, the group would not all "cast aside their evil ways" or "descend into evil" with him. The other leaders would likely continue the group, with one stepping up to fill the role he left. This would make very few supergroup leaders would be willing to switch sides.
There's another scenario that also makes sense, but would be a lot harder to implement. Who's to say that a leader wouldn't take all his hard work with him and force his members to either follow him or go off on their own? The supergroup base isn't tied down to any zones. In fact, SG base entrances in Pocket D and RWZ allow both factions through one portal. Basically the entire SG roster gets kicked and would have to switch sides to be re-invited.
And what about a "gray SG?" This would probably be the most difficult thing to implement. A supergroup lead by either a villain or hero (maybe restricted to being led by a "gray" character) that allows both heroes and villains to be members? They'd have to find a way to reconcile that the hero zone teleporters don't work for villains and vice versa, but this scheme should be possible. That way, if a leader goes gray or switches, the entire roster wouldn't be kicked.
I know this will lead to pointless discussion all based on theory since we know nothing about Going Rogue, but I still like to speculate. I find it fun, and perhaps this will lead to some solid material to suggest to the devs.

Your supergroup leader will only be a "Rogue/villain" in the Preatorian alternate universe where he exists as an alternate version of himself.
I totally just made that up. -
I'm having a lot of fun with a Spines/Fire that I made. Only like level 9 or something, but I think he has two level-ups banked. Endurance is a bit of an issue.
I recently leveled a AR/Traps corruptor and now I'm looking for some easy brainless level farming.
The two vet powers make up for the lack of single target damage. So I'm really steam rolling everything right now.
Only frustrating thing is that I inadvertantly made a FOTM. I picked Spines/fire for the concept and was thinking it would be a rare build. Now I'm hearing that everyone and their mothers cat has a Spines/Fire scrapper..Oh well. -

They still need to give the Midnight Grasp treatment to flamethrower.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or the Fire Breath treatment. I'd be happy with either. It just needs to deliver its total damage faster. If I want to slow roast something, I've got Ignite for that.
In terms of damage-per-activation-second, Ignite is about as good as Slug on a single target, with the added benefits of (a) Fire damage, and (b) small radius AoE (which is admittedly difficult to exploit well, but worthwhile when you can). I also like using it in doorways or at my feet if a melee mob is charging me, for the "afraid" effect. May not be all that it once was, but I think it's still worth it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutly ignite is worth it. THe only thing the ignite nerf did was make the lower levels that much harder. Those of us with a fully slotted ignite and rch bonuses barely felt the nerf, -
Just a random observation. Playing my heros recently, I've noticed most players are scrappers.
Also, as I watch the forum surfers, I consistantly see the scrapper forum as having the most viewers.
City of Scrappers? -
There is more FOTM talk in the threads than there are FOTM playing the game.

[edit: ...of Ignite that is.]

This. It's not too bad once you get it slotted and get some IO bonues. I think mine is down to about 6-7 sec when hasten is up. -
Whats the point of knowing a bit more info about i16/i17/GR?
Even if they told you somethign today, it would only lead to more questions.
No one will know anythign until it goes live. And then, when it does go live, all we will see is DOOM posts.
So, bottomline, you just want more DOOM. -

Hi Guys,
Returning player, haven't been around since around I7 or so.
I'm trying to level a fire/fire scrapper, mostly solo (I play quite a bit at work), and I'm not sure what the best approach is now.
Should I spend most of my time in the AE? or is it still faster leveling to go around the city?
I have experienced most of the content under lvl 30 so many times that it bores me, I really want to reach 30 ASAP.
What do you guys think?
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait. What??! You play quite a bit at work!!?!?
OK. We need to know what you do for a living...Now. -
Actually, I belive that AR is the king of AOE.
If I'm not mistaken, AR/Kin would be mathmatically the greatest AOE...particularly late game. Fucrum shift--Flame Thrower--Full Auto? I don't think anything can touch that.
If you want AOE right out of the box then Fire/Kin or Fire/Dark. -
Occasionally, particularly when on a large team, I'll forget to put out FFG. You really feel it when you forget it.
Also, during a respec a few levels ago, I took swift instead of hurdle...Really dumb right? Not as dumb as the fact it that was the only change I ended up making!
I'm not slow, I'm just a little retarded.
