Why no Epic and Pwr Pools for I-16 color changes?
Yeah. Discovering that the pool powers are not included pretty much killed off most of the enthusiasm I had for customization.
The two that I had high hopes for here Hasten and the entire Medicine pool (for alternative animations).

Because doing every Primary and Secondary powerset in the game plus some new animations is enough for BAB & Co to chew on already?
im very very very greatful for the color changes we will be able to change but, i agree changing the color or hasten and even super speed would be epic awesome !!

Maybe I missed it, but did a red-name actually say that pools and epics and patrons WEREN'T included in the customization? I know they didn't say them specifically, but they were listing main powersets...maybe they just didn't list those. Especially epic powers, most of them (that I'm familiar with at least) are just clones of powers that are getting customization so they still may get customization ability just from that. Not knowing what all they need to do to get an individual power to customize I admit I could be wrong about that.
Plus they said more things are coming. And, in recent history, player requests have gotten them to change the scope of an issue (MA increasing to issue 14 instead of 13 & MA being 13). I have seen a lot of requests for Kheldian powersets, VEAT powersets, pool, epic and patron power sets to be included on the boards already. Especially powers like hasten and teleport and super speed that don't really have any projectiles that affect other NPCs and characters I would think would be some of the easier powers to customize, at least from BaBs description in the old Power Customization FAQ.
Maybe the devs will do it, and if not in this issue, I'm sure they'll be on the top of the list of things to do for future issues once they have the customization process hammered down with the current ones. I still thinks its too early, even with the information given today, to start crying about the power customization and what can and can't be. Everything they've said they are going to do is GREAT as is in my personal opinion and I can't wait!

I agree with AquaJAWS. Just like proliferation, maybe they're not going to introduce it all at once, and add more powers to color as time goes on.
BaB said in the thread that the list on the page is just the list of things already done and ready to go, not things they haven't been able to finish yet. He's confirmed that they're working to get Traps/Devices done before launch, and probably several other sets too.
Since the structure is now in place, doing more is going to be relatively easy.

Energy Torrent epic being Red on Blueside has always bothered me a little. I'm sure the change will come eventually. Like everybody has said.. you can't judge the new feature by it's beta and initial releases.
I hope they tackle the Speed pool powers soon. If not at launch, as soon as possible thereafter. The first thing I want to do is tone Hasten and Super Speed WAAAAY down.

That reminds me, I wonder if they're going to have a 'transparent' type, much like using black on certain auras makes them nearly invisible.

I think it's a safe bet that they'll do pool powers later, after getting all the primary powers out of the way.
I'd be happy with just being able to completely turn certain visual effects off toggles rather than just being able to change their colors. Especially for superspeed... that bright light coming from my feet really takes away from some of my characters.
Would be nice if they'd include something like this with i16... even if only for toggles and/or effects that linger after clicking (like the mini-deathsurge you turn into after hitting Elec-Armor's tier-9).
Also. It would be nice to be able to change the animations of the vet powers. A "Hand Blast" instead of the nemesis staff would be nice.
I think the power pools will have the color change options eventually, but have my fingers crossed for the vet powers.

Eh, nah. Vet powers are based on temp powers, and temp powers will probably remain specific, due to the way they are.

Well you can certainly argue that people just love to look gift horses in the mouth.
But in this particular case it was bound to happen. The controversies surrounding how much some people hate the visual appearance of powers like Hasten and Superspeed were probably amongst the more cited examples of why people wanted ANY power customization in the first place.
For those specific powers to be potentially -not- included in the I16 updates would be a glaring omission that's not going to get overlooked. It'd be like a kid wanting and asking for a red bike for his birthday all year and then finally getting a blue one. Yes he got his bike, but it was clearly not exactly what was asked for.
I fully understand the idea that there was a lot of work involved in doing this and it's quite likely the Devs decided to prioritize on the primary powersets before looking at power pool powers. But I'd be willing to bet that of all the powers in the game a majority of players would have actually wanted the power pool powers to be considered for customization FIRST, not last. The power pools universally affect every character in the game so from a "bang for the buck" point of view that would have made more sense. Hopefully this will be resolved one way or the other.

I wasn't complaining about an issue that I think is really cool. It is just the aura effects I see that most people want to change and was surprised they aren't there. Not sure if the "complaints" about the "complaints" trigger was a little happy on what was a pretty basic question.
Just wait... some folks will want steam coming up for superspeed instead of the feet glow.

Probably triage. Where does the effort expended get to the maximum number of players.
If they have cracked the method for customizing these things, I would hope we will see it extended to other powers in future efforts.
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
