  1. The OP should stick to either /shields or /sr. Maybe claws/sr for something different. And fighting +4's shockwave's knockback becomes knockdown. It doesn't have a taunt aura but it could reliably handle the difficulty the player is looking for.
    im not a huge fan of /shields but that might be the best way to go in this circumstance.
    just my 2 inf.

  4. I think you would be hard pressed to pull +4 x8 man spawns on a /fire scrap to your tank buddy.
  5. I literally spent 1000's and 1000's of hours in pre I13 pvp. It was fun. Tweeks were needed, but for the most part every AT and almost every powerset had a place. Post I13 with heal suppression, travel suppression, innate resists, mez changes...
    Everything the devs hoped to accomplish had the opposite effect.
    instead of a greater range of toons capable of playin and being competitive, you now have selective ATs and powersets within those ATs that are the only thing capable of performing "well".

    I have probably spent a total of 100 hours in post I13 pvp.

    Oh how I miss the epic battles in SC.
  6. Yes I know about ill/rad and the awesomeness they are. But that's more, let the PA soak damage.
    I shoulda clarified, can any troller sets beside illusion, and specifically ill/rad, solo AV's?

    Sorry yalls, but thermal is the best overall buff set.

    +acc, damage
    heals
    -dam,-regen, -recovery
    -res, -def
    ally mez protection
    Rez that does damage and stuns
  11. Peacebringer are the ultimate jack of all trades.
    grab medicine pool for stimulant/resuscitate and you can...
    off tank, blast, scrap, back up heal, and control.
  12. Besides thematics, it does have a huge no-symmetry issue.
    It was my first toon EVER, not something id recommend to beginners or experts alike.

  14. Grav/storm is awfully well rounded for team play.

    you have consistent every spawn control with freezing rain and your aoe immobilize. With stackable aoe stuns available everyspawn at latter levels.
    tornadoes damage equals the majority of AV's regen rates...
    O2 is great mez protection
    Not to mention hurricane and wormhole for mob placement...
    Let's see, it has -slow,-recharge, -def, -res, +def, +res, ally mez protection,
    About the only thing it can't do is heal.

    Pretty well rounded in my experience.

    Nothings better than running up to a spawn and hitting fearsome stare, they all quiver in fear.
    Its a totally aggressive playstyle.
    With solid enough AoE to defeat large spawns rapidily enough.
  16. Post lvl 32 and dark servant, dark miasma defenders can pump out the most green numbers in any given time.

  18. You'll have zippy mitigation from your secondary if you go /psi. You didn't take scramble thoughts to stack stuns for bosses/trouble spawns if you do take dark epic for OG. Id go with dark blast to stack dark pit with it.
    if its an emp/psi for concept then disregard.
  19. Kat/wp is what id consider the "everyday scrapper". It doesn't give up much as you lvl up and can be build into a monster if you want.
    id say that on just SO's its as good as some of the "weaker" IO'd builds

    Awhile back (maybe a year ago) someone posted a chart showing how multiple AH procs slotted would give the best chance to fire.
    it was a great graph that really explained how AH should and should not be slotted.
    If someone else with greater search fu could dig that up it would be awesome!

    Sayin that dm/shields is top tier in damage is true IF u have mobs to fuel SD, but eventually you'll kill your own fodder.

    And when facing 1 hard target w/o fodder for SD it falls considerably in the dps race.

    Soloing +4/x8?

    I run +4 X 8 on my claws/sr scrap and dm/invuln brute. Without really cherry pickin my enemy groups. I can run radios all day long. Arachnos/longbow are much more difficult.
    Though the brute is too single target to be really effective at it.

    Id imagine mez protection is a must and wouldn't try it on a toon without it.

    If built right I can't think of 1 melee AT that couldn't do it. Though of course powerset choices would limit to what degree how fast u run through mobs.
