a few yrs ago a mate of mine had a similar build and it totally rocked!

was thinking about dark epics for soul drain, the dmg boost would be handy.

I dont want to come across as a member of the Thunderstrike Marketing Board, but...

I see four missed opportuinites for 6-slotting the Thunderstrike set, and having some extra Ranged/Energy/Negative Defence - 15% to be precise. If you're hovering, and have already taken Weave, thats a huge boon to any solo Defender.

I underrstand slotting Decimation instead, the Recharge boost brings up your Auras more quickly, which is a big deal for any Empath.

Your slotting on Will Domination is odd though. Devastation gives you +Regen (peanuts next to Helaing Aura/Regen Aura), +Health (OK, but hot great) and +3 damage (peanuts IMHO) at the expense of the extra Accuracy and Defence that 6 Thunderstrikes would give you.

If it were me, I'd slot Recovery Aura just with 3 Recharge, and move the extra slots to Subdue, Mental Blast and TK Blast and six slot all four siongle target attacks with Thunderstike. Recovery Aura gives you more end than you can eat even without slotting.

Your global Recharge boost would drop by 18.75%, it is true. With Hasten and what you have left (around 60% still?) Your Aura recharge is going to go from 140 second to 155 maybe? So in exchange for those 15 seconds extra wait for Regen Aura/Recovery Aura to coem up you get 15% R/E/NE Defence and +28% Acc. Maybe a bit less end, but Recovery Aura has a good uptime still.

Your Ranged Def goes from 15% to 30%, which is a lot of avoided damage and mezzes, and also almost one small pill from the softcap, great for EB fights.

Your call, of course. I openly admit to being a bit defence-obsessed, and realise you may have other aims with this build.

I wholeheartedly endorse taking dark mastery over power -- it's just more fun, and the self rez and PBAoE stun are helpful.

Solo build therefore drop Resurrection, move Hasten to 6th, grab Fortitude at 12th and single slot a LotG +7.5%.

The largest drawback to high ranged defense hovering line of thought (a very good one) is particularly with Dark Mastery is the number of powers (your Nuke, SD, DC, OG) that want you ideally in the middle of the foes. I'd want more than base speed for Hover to make moving in and out of the foes easier. That said high ranged defense + Hover is a very, very good way to survive particularly while your Auras are recharging.

I'd look to add full stealth to the build. Doubly so if you stay ground bound and/or to make best use of SD --> stealth in, hit SD, hover up and away start blasting.

I'd want at least 4pts kb protection, again especially if you go Dark Mastery. Not good to move in start casting SD and then get knocked across the map and hit air. Ditto for Dark Consumption, Psy Wail etc., etc.. Most likely current spot would be a BotZ in Fly. Or if going with Super Speed a slot somewhere for -kb as SS I'd slot the Stealth IO.

You'll have zippy mitigation from your secondary if you go /psi. You didn't take scramble thoughts to stack stuns for bosses/trouble spawns if you do take dark epic for OG. Id go with dark blast to stack dark pit with it.
if its an emp/psi for concept then disregard.

I agree on the fortitude comment, and if you did use it for a bit of teaming, Fortitude is generally more helpful than Rez anyhow. Prevent death instead of make up for it afterwards. Just toss em a wakie if they die.

The problem with OG from the perspective I think they'll be going is that they'll be hoverblasting. OG needs to be close to the enemies, hoverblasting tactic says stay as far as you can away from them.

As for my personal suggestions, I'd try to place a KB protect in there at least once, if not more than once. I'd say for 3.5% smash/lethal resistance loss, place steadfast 3% def and KB protection. Even while hovering you can be knockbacked, sometimes even to the ground. This'll also open up a new slot from where it was in Dark Embrace.

That's all I got in the short time before I have to go to work.

she was originally a kin/psi on a different server but i wanted to try empathy, then i changed my mind and went back to kin/psi.

ok this is what confuses me, when people say they are going with specific power sets and then somebody recommends something completely different.....i never understand that.
