Quote:I'd say that Cold Domination, Pain, or Rad is also a good friend. Also, heres my Crab build. I havn't fully implimented it.. but, here you folks go. Enjoy. =) No taunt, for tanking if thats what you wanted to do with him.Pets, Pets, and more pets. Try to get your pets on a real quick recharge. They are ever so useful for adding to your dps (and sometimes taking the mob groups alpha).
Venom and frag grenades are a must, as is suppression and heavy burst (and Arm Lash for when they get close). Not much will be left after all that.
(some) Bosses did give me a hard time when trying to farm, so you may want to turn them off.
*on a side not, I duo'd with a Force Field Defender the other day... might be a crabs best friend.

Quote:Defensive Mode IS BG mode. =POk so I quit somewhere around i5 and came back cause i heard there was.. PvP! I like pets, I like PvP! Sweet 1.2.3- KILL!
Or not..
Everyones got some kind of superspeedy power, even when TS'd they still move faster than pets
Teleport foe makes people intangible
Caltrops doesn't slow people down near enough for pets to start whackin away
Web grenade SAYS 2.9second immobilze, more like .5 seconds-- and then they are immune for 15 seconds?
Just how exactly do people even kill anyone in open PvP with MM? It seems like all anyone does is use builds that kill in 2 shots, then stealth/speed off if their attack succeeeds or fails. Is there any real viable option to PvP'ing with a MM?
Granted I really like the bodyguard mode, but that means my stupid pets don't attack people as they come. I wish Attack/Defensive was still in BG mode =\
Anyways I rant cause i'm tired, CAN MM PvP seriously and get kills without people always runnin off? If so I'd love to hear =D
As for help PvPing, can't help you there, I havn't really done so since Issue 15 or so. -
I've found Triage Beacon to be fairly useful for positioning correctly, and the extra regen does help.
But, primarily, you want to focus on recharge, recharge, recharge. Its very important for a traps MM to have LOTS of it. The more traps down the better. -
I've been playing my Merc/Traps for awhile, personally, as a odd tip...
Spec Ops- > Equip Merc - > Soldiers -> Commando -> Tactical Upgrade
The reason for the Equip Mercenary is to give Spec Ops their mitigation abilities, while leaving the other pets untouched, however, having both equips actually lowers the overall damage capabilities, due to a longer attack chain, instead of chaining their best abilities only. I like how they are for the most part but, yes, they do need improvements.
I would personally like to see Spec Ops lose the riflebutt in favor of bean bag, and while in hidden they get a crit, or something like the ninjas do. -
Quote:I beg to differ on Triage Beacon, always fit it inside your build, I personally like the regen it offers to my pets, teammates, and myself, as for traps, its like playing chess. You need to think about what you're doing, and what needs to be done. I enjoy it probably the absolute most out of all of the MM secondaries, I do have Heal Other, Aid Self, and Stimulant for those of my teammates who might need a hand.I have a Thug/Pain,Trap and Poison. all lvl 50
Traps are a very active and powerful set to play. It is a Defensive and Offensive a set. It a tactical type play style. Alot it powers you need select and be in the right spot to really get most out of the set. Powers you can do without are Time Bomb and Triage heal take "Heal Others".
Pain set is more relaxed and more about surviving longer then your prey. It is a good set if you like take it easy. It does take longer to kill enemies vs Traps. Namely because traps you can pin down the enemies in to a spot and there are damaging traps.
Both are really good solo and teams though on a fast kill teams traps are not useful do there setup. Pain is good in all times I have found.
As for Traps, it just requires high, high, high recharge to be really effective to be honest. The more you lay down, the better you can do.
Time Bomb is useless, so is Detonator for the most part. Trip Mine is avoidable, but i'll likely pick it up come Issue 19. -
Quote:Mines currently sitting at 38, and, i've found similiar results. =) However, I intend to suppliment this problem by slotting the epic damage proc inside my Choking Cloud, to help mitigate some of my lack of damage. =PThe thing that makes Choking Cloud work is the combination of (a) some kind of initial AoE control that will prevent an alpha strike, and (b) some kind of PB AoE aura that will work with Choking Cloud to combine controls. Fire has Hot Feet, with its Slow+Afraid+Damage. Ice has Arctic Air, with Slow+Afraid+Confuse. And Elec has Conductive Aura, which drains Endurance.
My Elec/Rad hasn't quite gotten there yet (he's 27), but I played one on Test with the level bump to 41. The combo of Static Field+Jolting Chain+Chain Fences, then run in with Choking Cloud+Conductive Aura was very effective control -- but no damage. So, I was able to stand in a group and hold/drain them, and then just waited for the Gremlins or teammates to do the killing. It had a lot of similarity to an Ice/Rad -- great control but little damage. -

Typically...
Theres more blue then red, because of.
1. City of Heroes was released 1st.
2. Heroes are more attractive to the masses, for some reason.
3. Better market.
4. Hero AT's are more straight forward.
But, thats just my input. Opinions are opinions, but I know reason 1 is fact. -
Quote:Depends, just have to find the better SG/VG's to join up.Well as with all places... COH has its good, the bad, and ugly of RPers..
But I feel here its all at a tolerable level..
Also, welcome back. I actively play both, but that is due to friends that play both.
I like CO's gameplay better, but its lacking in RP, or a competant community.
Heroes:
Jadewire, Sword of Paragon, and a few others I can't spell or recall.
Villains:
Pheonix Company, Iron Wolf Cartel, Black Tie, Clan Di'mir, Weapons Union. -
I'd like some help in creating a build for a Broadsword / Fire Armor Scrapper, I'd prefer Body Mastery, just looking for more input other then my own. I'll have my build up later, costly as you'd like.
-
It only applies to the slotted ability. So your Enforcers, whenever they use any abilities, now have a chance to do negative damage.
-
Far as I'm aware. Scrappers arn't shady. They're meant to run to your face, and beat in into the floor.
Stalkers? Yes, meant to be tricky, cohersive, and conniving, for the most part.
...and like in the above post. Ninjutsu wouldn't be Ninjutsu without the stealth. -
I've had up to two Mortar's up on my MM Traps, I assume Corr Traps is no different.
Multiple Traps, yes, yes you can, Triage can have two up, but its usually only for a few seconds.
Caltrops, Poison Trap, Acid Mortar, and Trip Mines are examples of being able to have multiples on most occasions. -
Personally, I like the cone Fear, its an amazing to hit debuff, if slotted for that. Coupled with Darkest Night, you can cripple an entire groups To Hit to nothing, while you pew pew with your group.
I'm in class, or i'd post my build for DP / Dark
As for Fluffy, I love fluffy. -
Depends, if you don't know how to micro manage your pets/buffs, while keeping situational awareness of your teammates and terrain to use it to your advantage. Then yes, you'll likely be hated.
-
Quote:Honestly, I suggest Combat Jumping, and Super Jump instead of either of the two. Its a more versatile travel power, if you happen to Super Speed off into a ditch, you sometimes can't get out without going around, or using the jump pack.Hi, I started my DP build and picked cold as a secondary. My plan was to take hover to add to mist for some extra defence. I would then reley on SS for travel. This has worked for me in the past but I like the diving moves of DP and think hover may spoil them.
If I don't take hover I'll be looking for alternative ways to toughen it up. should I add the jumping or fighting pool or what do you reckon? Alternativley I could just start again with another secondary and change the build? I do like cold?
So many questions-some outside advice would be much appreciated

Quote:It does, but its so miniscule, I believe its if you ever see them shake from the Jacob's Ladder, thats the 'sleep'. I think anyway, electric melee is mostly noted for its Aoe Capabilities, and -end drain, and end return to you.I was looking around for a electric stalker guide and havn't found one yet. Proabably because it was added last issue I think? Or just that I can chalk it up to my horriable searching abilites one..lol. I have a question about their secondary damage, the descriptions say that each of the primary attacks has a chance to sleep the enemy, but thus far I haven't seen that happen yet. is that my bad luck or is the sleep broken, or does it work but I'm just not seeing it? Thanks!

Quote:Leviathan Mastery:Nope, I mean S/L resistance. Tough and a Patron Shield will significantly buff that, but I don't know offhand of a Patron Shield that provides defense. If I knew how to get near the soft-cap in any one particular area, I would try to do that, but I don't think it's that possible with a /Cold without forsaking other important aspects of that set, such as recharge.
Shark Skin: S/L/Cold Resistance
Soul Mastery:
Dark Embrace: S/L/Negative/Toxic Resistance
Mace Mastery:
Scorpion Shield: S/L/Energy/Toxic Defense
Mu Mastery:
[Can't recall this one" But its S/L/Energy resistance.
So yes, theres a defense Patron Shield for Corruptors. -
I really, really enjoy.
My Assault Rifle / Devices / Munitions Blaster, and i've been told I play it well. -
-
Quote:I take it, mostly for the reason why? PvE instances such as teams, taking out Sappers, or something else that can cripple others, its what the Stalker does. Precision targets, Electric Melee has the best of both worlds, I think. My Elec/Nin Stalker doesn't have Assassin's Strike either. I too never saw the point in taking it if I wasn't playing PvP. Mine is set up for a more team friendly role. I focused on as much AoE as possible and soft-capping my defenses. I have often taken the role of lead Brute with my Stalker. I wanted to break the mold of the one-trick-pony that Stalkers often get accused of. Yes Assassin's Strike deals a massive amount of damage in one shot, but look how long it takes and what you have to do to get that one shot set up. I can Build-Up, Lightning Rod, Thunder Strike, and Ball Lightning in the same amount of time and have almost the entire mob down instead of trying to make sure I'm in Hide, position myself behind the boss, hit AS, and hope nothing interrupts it in the process. Do Stalkers need AS? It's nice for some occasions, but no I don't think you need to have it at all.
As it has that option, but yes, AS is more of a very useful tool. Combined with Placate, or your AoE placate as a stalker, means more capabilities to remove threats. -
If I recall correctly, Blinding Powder.. 5 slot it, and stick the Superior Confusion set, I believe its insanely cheap, for a nice 10% Global Recharge, and I think 5% ranged def.
-
Quote:I'm currently using the different sniper sets for the +Recovery bonuses that they give.Hm. Well, no access to Mids atm but I can comment on Ishaila's build.
Drop the Deflated Ego proc from RI, its kindof a waste. You've got no other recovery debuffs from AR or Rad to stack it with and it'll only check once every 10s. I'd leave the Achilles proc in there if you've got a slot, but drop the Lady Grey proc. You'd be better off putting a Lady Grey proc in Burst.
I went with 4 Dark Watchers Despair for the recharge bonus. Your current setup doesn't give much end redux, which is important for RI.
Swap the Extreme Measures in Sniper Rifle for Sting of the Manticores, much better set bonuses.
Add an extra recharge or endurance rdx in Flamethrower. Posi Blast is a great set but gives crap recharge and end rdx. Flamethrower is both an awesome attack so you want it back up faster but eats a lot of endurance. If you've got the recovery to swing it (which you probably will with AM) I'd recommend you go with the recharge.
Drop the Pacing of the Turtles in Lingering Rad, it gives really crappy enhancement values. You want to max the acc and recharge on LR. I recommend 2 acc, 2 rech, 1-2 slows if you really want/have spare slots. You can nick a slot from cj, with RI and -def from Burst you really won't get much benefit from the Kismet +6%.
Swap the dam/range in Ignite to Dam/Rech. Since it's recharge got whacked a while back it needs recharge reduction more.
If you want Choking Cloud, you're going to want much more end redx and accuracy in it. That said, I'd recommend you skip CC. With the cones of AR, you're going to be at range almost all the time. AR doesn't lend itself well to melee-blasting. Not worth the endurance, imo.
Don't need the slow resistance in SJ, stealth proc or jump IO would be better.
Ragnaroks in Full Auto. I love it. Unloading into someone so hard they get knocked down :3
Um, pick up Slug. You've only got Burst and Sniper Rifle for ST damage. This makes me a sad panda. Being able to hose down entire spawns with FT and FA isn't as awesome when you've gotta spend ages using only Burst to kill a boss. AR has fairly weak ST damage due to its lack of a t3 attack and Ignite being tricky to leverage. Don't exacerbate it by not showin' Slug no luv.
Fallout is an awesome power. It's an awesome damage power. plz 2 slotting some dmg in it. Yes, it does have stupid awesome debuff values. It also has stupid awesome damage. Make the most of the damage first, the debuffs second. If the dudes hovering menacingly over your dead buddy get blown to itty bitty irradiated bits, they don't need to be debuffed.
Eh, Focused Accuracy. It's a decent power but you really don't need it. If you really need to hit something drop RI on them. It uses up a lot of endurance for something another power does better.
Hope that helps, I'll see about throwing together a build when I get home.
The build is permanent Haste, and Permanent AM, and puts out an impressive 4.88 end a second.
With all those toggles, my net income is still 2.21 end a second.
If I drop any of the Posi's Blasts, I lose perma hasten =/ Which i'm determined to keep. -
