    I was getting pretty weak double hit damage from T3 Assault Radial on my Claws/SR brute. Is that because the recharge times of claws attacks are really low? See below. Follow-up was actually generating more double hit damage than either Focus or Slash (where double-hit was like 50% of purple proc damage).

  2. Waterspout really buffs single-target DPS. The only downside is that it can scatter groups of mobs ... but honestly you only really need it for extra ST dps. Plus I think maybe you can slot the upcoming KB-to-KD IO in it to minimize scatter.

    I like the idea of DB/EA. I think DB is better on scrappers just due to the strength of the BF buff ... it's really lost on Brutes, even if you do slot the Brute ATO for 100% fury. My biggest beef with DB is the lethal damage -- though having said that the new "lightsaber" mecha swords are crazy cool.

    You and Nihili have some cool builds here.

    If I were you, I would go Degenerative instead of Spectral. It helps more against big bags of HP, which is where you need it most.
  3. But apparently double-hit doesn't work on powers with 20sec or greater recharge -- specifically KO Blow and Crushing Uppercut. Or was that a bug that got fixed? Someone (Butane?) noticed it right before Live and pointed out it seemed deliberately coded to prevent KO Blow and CU from benefiting from double-hit.

    Anyone confirm?

    Can someone point me to where the Mecha shield is under the various shield options?? I simply cannot find it.
  6. Given so much of crab damage comes from leveraging pets, wouldn't adding the +def Hybrid that doubles for pets be the best call (assuming all else is equal) -- increasing their survivability pushing them towards soft-cap? Or does the Hybrid assault also work on your pets?
  7. There seems to be a lack of good info / opinions on the current state of Hybrid. It appeared that there was a lot of testing early on and then when they made the final changes on Test, not a lot of comments. Except Johnny Butane banging the drum on how double-hit is still broken for Tankers, and was designed to exclude KO Blow / Crushing Uppercut (>20 sec recharge). Other than that, I haven't been able to find a lot of info/opinions on the current Hybrid across all trees. Sad.

  9. Below is the Claws/SR build I've been messing around with, it may give you some ideas. Note as you level, it's a good idea to slot the passives with at least the equivalent (def bonus) of 2 Def IOs -- this will max out your resistance to Def Debuffs (95% resistance). One of the few things SR has going for it above other sets.

    I think ppl are too hard on Butane. He generally has good points about Tankers. I think the Devs could come up with an interesting new mechanic for Tankers that addressed some of the damage issues -- I think Johnny even suggested a type of toggle that would let the tank trade off survivability for damage (like "Enraged" or something). Or they could do something similar to what they did for Defenders: buff damage when solo, ramp it down as team size grows. Raising the damage cap would be a nice touch too, to encourage teaming. *shrug*
  11. Here's another go using some of your suggestions, Ricodah.

    I don't really need the extra recovery from the way you slotted Tough. I'm endo-sustainable as is. However with you slotting I would still touch 20% res (19.9) and save another slot (instead of a 3rd Aegis). It's a thought - need to figure out what to do with the extra slot that would free up. A regen tissue +Regen in health doesn't make a big difference.

    I'm well over 95% def debuff resist, but I like the 3-slotting of the passives with LOTGs for the regen and HP bonus. In the current build moving a 3rd slot to Lucky pushes me from 1990 hp (with accolades) to over 2000 hp, which is a nice "target."

    Question is really what if anything can be done to improve dps. Maybe nothing at this point. The extra recharge (10% more) might help if there was a tiny bit of lag in the chain.

    An argument for your Tough slotting is beefing up endo even further to run Hybrid. Perhaps go Agility Core for some further endo boost, and move an IO slot (endo IO) into Phys Perfection ... all in the goal of supporting Hybrid to improve DPS.

    Thanks. Most of the changes you suggested were in the original build, e.g. 6-slotted Perf Shifter, 5slotted Red Fortunes, 6slot Boxing with Stupefy. I can put the Ragnarok 5th slot back in, shouldn't have taken that out for the proc. 6slots in Boxing really annoyed me so I moved them around.

    I moved some slots from Perf Shifter to Tough (5slot Aegis for AOE) because I wanted to beef up my S/L resistance (20% target). I also added QOL elements like the -SLOW resist into CJ and the +Res Shield Wall (to hit 20%). I'll look at playing around with the Glad Armor there too and saving Aegis slots.

    Is there really any point to Musculature on a Brute? Aren't you capping damage pretty much already at 100% fury (from self buffs)? I actually have T4 Spiritual alpha already on this toon.

    Enhance Boosters don't show up -- I should have mentioned I +5'd the IO in Hasten and that it appeared to be perma.

  14. I too just don't see the same level of engagement. Some people went FTP and can't post in the AT forums -- I'm thinking of once great posters like Combat and maybe Werner and Shred Monkey. Or they just gave up. Don't know. What happened to Iggy? He gave me so many great build ideas.

    My recent Claws/SR post is just sitting in the forum like a silent turd. Same happens in the stalker forums.

    Game seems a bit vacant recently actually -- maybe due to Diablo III and previously Skyrim?

  19. This is my build I think on live. I built up to T4 Clarion and I think I took Vigor over Musculature -- to get the endo reduction and heal boost. However i may have gone Cardiac. I found Fire burns endo even with the boosts in /Time. I didn't think musc was worth it given lower base damage on Corrs.

    Lin's def has way higher resists but I hope a Corr makes up for it with Scourge and a higher damage Rain of Fire.

    I went Soul for Power Boost plus Soul Drain.

    They're not really weak to fire damage. They mainly deal fire damage, which makes Fiery Aura brutes able to stand up to them incredibly well. That's at least what I've seen.

    I believe the build below is my current build. The Musculature/Ageless combo is nice. Chain is AS-CU ... SB-AS-SC-SB-AS-CU. There is a slight pause in the chain.

  25. You can cap S/L/E/N and still have around 650% regen with 1 foe in RTTC.

    I had a StJ/WP build on here (I'm sure it shows up in forum searches) that did that, and a bunch of other builds.

    Yeh, WP has no def debuff resist, but reaching the softcap on your own sure is nice and helps. F/C are the least important to cap in the game as it stands today.

    This isn't my final build but it gives you and idea of how to look at things to softcap S/L/E/N. Certainly if you are up for chugging purples than putting more into regen or even +rchrg (depending on your primary, attack chain etc.) can be good instead.
