  1. Why are NPCs running around randomly in fear anyhow. Several times, I've had them run right into my attacks (they weren't affected, but still kinda idiotic). How about making NPCs run AWAY from all mobs and heroes, so that in missions they would run to a wall and cower. Or better yet, make all those boxed and crates usefull and let them hide and cower behind them.

BTW, I hate NPCs too, ever since my huge tank got pushed out of the tram station, the tram area, and into a mob. Coming back to find yourself defeated is really funny, but annoying. I'm a huge tank!! What are these normals doing with the strength of the HULK.
  2. IMO, the solution to this is just to give the arbiters and the police drones a HUGE perception. The idea that the hero universe is packed with hiding and invisible heroes and villians is a real clue to how the technology of the arbiters and police drones should have compensated for it. This way, invisible AND hovering heroes (or villians) would be at risk to even come close them.

Unless I'm missing something... which is quite possible.

Knowing Pos' penchant for puzzles and innuendos, it would appear by this comment that there may very well BE a Veteran badge. Just my 2 influence.

It's like in the D&D game, when the DM says, "You don't see the trap." You begin to question the statement, and wonder if indeed there is a trap, since you didn't see it. LOL.
  5. I remember getting the kill CoT mission in King's Row and there were only 5 rooftops they spawned on. Rarely. Camped to hell and back.

I remember when Super Jump didn't have the slide effect, and I could pinpoint land on top of small landings. Lucky if I guess my landing spot correctly now...

I remember the Rikti invasion, and how most of the zones had multiple instances. There were something like 12 Atlas Parks.
  6. I suddenly got visions of the Running Man. Anyone want to place a bet on this match? Complete with Richard Dawson!!

EDIT: You COULD do something like a TV view, something like the info booths, opens a full screen view of a first person perspective, with someone as the camera. Now that is possible, but not much like a HUGE TV screen displaying the action :P.
  7. 1) Super Group contacts and thereby, Super Group missions. Any contact could give these missions when they become available (i.e. special missions that are either unique via a mission creator or rare).

    2) Super Group villian choice, so that the Super Group can select a group which they oppose, maybe tied back to 1).

    3) Super Group prestige, much like individual character influence. Who knows your group, what has it done for the city as a whole, and what favors can you pull in for the group?

    4) When bases arrive, the use of a "danger room" type upgrade (for testing powers and villian strategies) and also a super computer type thing (could be used as a super group contact that "alerts" the Super Group to trouble spots around the city).

    Boss Changes

To me, the easy solution here is how contacts are requested. Batman (90% solo) has a different set of contacts (missions that a sinlge hero should handle) and storyarcs than say, the X-men (90% group), whom really need the group to do the butt-kicking in storyarcs.

So I guess what I am getting at, will there ever be contacts for supergroups and those who love to team and want the real challenge, but to feel heroic at the same time? Or could we have a set of contacts that are essentially for teaming (other than task forces)?

One other random thought, maybe it might be possible to have randomly spawning rare contacts for highly dangerous, cool, or specialized story arcs and missions? Something along the lines of Giant Monsters but as missions. How cool would that be?

    More answers....

Did any of the devs read the ideas put forth in the short lived Stone Armor - A Simple Solution thread? Its a question .
  10. In thinking about consensual PvP, I got an idea.

Villian zones only villians can enter. Hero zones only heroes can enter. And Conflict zones that both can enter that is free PvP. It's consenual, because you have to enter the zone to make it so. Of course, you couldn't have zones like this that have contact missions, noone should be forced into such a zone. It's an idea... one of, I'm sure, many that are floating around.

    Villain Emotes

Not an emote, but sorta like one. I would think it would be nice to have customizable font for the villians, like the sorta drippy kinda font that nasty evil abhorrent villians sometimes emote.

In an effort to collect more data, police officers have begun calling upon their usual sources within the city’s criminal underground.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seriously, the police aren't calling on this at all, considering whenever underground criminal elements approach them, they run like little girls. No wonder they don't have any information for these so-called contacts. Sounds like a smoke screen to cover their hides, giving the appearance that they are doing something... when we all know what the real story is.

Look! There goes one now, running away from the bad guys. Sheesh.

The rules for teleportation have changed in order to keep heroes from teleporting to otherwise impossible-to-get-to areas.

This allows your hero to teleport around corners and buildings, but not into solid objects. (Which includes objects with doors.)

Tsoo and Porters do it all the time :P
  14. I would love to see the +1 mob level continue for the post 30 game, as well as the other fixes being considered (hp increase with xp increase). Seem like a really good solution to alpha strikes, gets the tank involved ( I have not been as involved in the high game so much as this update, yay!), and make controllers FAR more important in controlling mobs. I'm loving it. Before the update, I was defeated maybe 2 to 5 times since the last update, on this update, I have already gone down 3 times that I can remember. I'm challenged, and what a wonderful fun feeling that is. Inadvertantly, you created some fun with this bug, and it will be a sad day when it goes away in the post 30 game.
  15. Would be interesting, if one contact was a supergroup contact where all missions and all story arcs were multi-tasking missions. I am in favor of something like this. Those that don't want to do this simply do not visit this contact. How about it?

  17. Unfortunately, I was the victim of the length of the name length field. I had to mull over several options, but the unfortunate fact is, I ran the words together.

I had wanted Quantum Mechanic. It is one character too long. I thought about Quantum Mekanic, but that is just too dufus a misspell to really go with, though I played with the idea of making my character true name Dr. Mekanic and expain it away that way. I decided it was too immature.

QuantumMechanic also didn't sit well. I, too, dislike the running together of words. But I could not get the name to fit and I loved the name for a gravity/kinetics physicist with a high intellect and desire to experiment and research new things. I had to settle on QuantuMechanic, only because of the shared M in the last and first parts respectively.

Really disappointed with the name field length. Fifteen characters is really really small by computer name field standards (it is usually 35). I think 21 would have made a good field length and not been too long. Oh well.

Please don't judge me by the name I had to make work. Annoying as some are because of the run together, it is also sometimes the result of just not having any room to fit the name.

Yes, but it was a RP story. If Batman had told Superman to get out of "his city" (as he often does), and then the joker pulled some Kryptonite and had Supes against the ropes, do you think Batman would just leave Superman at his mercy?

OFCOURSE NOT! And why? Because Batman is a HERO. And heroes don't do that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I see your point here, but this is a simulation of a comic book through the use of a MMORPG, and as we all KNOW, not all the heroes are as upright and moral as Batman or other comic book good guys. So, with that in mind, I agree with Gamble on this one. It was a humorous post to boot, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

But nowhere in comic book heaven does a hero follow another hero around and wait until the foe is near death and take the glory (as this happened to me on Freedom). After they followed me for 10 minutes, and would only wait until the opponent was near defeated, I got fed up and went to the Tram station. That loses them every time, hehe.

However, that is not very heroic, even when I told them to back off, I was fine, all in character. They n00bed out on me and started being jerks. Oh well, its unavoidable, but sometimes a lesson is due.

Have you noticed in Kings Row, right off the Trans, there's a few NPC's running on the hill and jumping off continiously. I spend about 5 minutes standing on the hill yelling "This is no time for play human scum!" And they say you cant interact with the enviroment

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hehe, I did the same thing, sorta. I stood on the hill and started motivating them to work out!

"Burn that flab! Work it! No pain, no gain! Don't quit on me now soldier!"

I did that for about 10 minutes before I got bored. Of course, when I did it then there was only 1 NPC doing it. Yesterday I saw like 8 NPCs at that spot. The chaos!!
  22. No, I am talking about the ones that knew, and still came to Virtue to grief. Happens, some people only find real pleasure in the displeasure of others. As to grinding to get to Beta levels, well, I see mostly 10+ characters still grinding away, ah well. I suppose when they said unofficial RP server, the emphasis was on "unofficial". Just isn't much RPing happening IMHO. I still hold out hope tho, that alot of them were not Preorders and are awaiting the launch.

    *fingers crossed*
  23. I agree, I have yet to meet many RPers on the Virtue server, despite it being claimed as one. Where are all these RPers?? I have only see a sparse few! I keep running into players who are not RPers and are perplexed, or sometimes, downright rude about a RPer. What are they on this server for if they knew it was mostly RPing. No reason for a non-RPer to attack someone who is RPing just because they don't understand it or condone it, even when they know it is a RP server. Sigh.... would love to RP, all I see is grind grind grind.
