Though since Virtue wasn't up for the head start, quite a few folks have gone to Guardian instead as a sort of secondary RP server.
Virtue was up. I played on it for 4 hours at today.

what do you mean by "role playing " server ?
The server that the majority of the roleplayers decided to go to, so we could find more of us like-minded players.
It's not Official, it was just decided by the Beta Roleplaying Community to play on Virtue
Virtue was ABSOLUTELY up for the headstart.. I've been playing on it all day. It opened at exactly the same time all the other servcers did. It was the LOGIN server that was bum. Hopefully not too many people went to Guardian. I worked really hard to get most everyone to agree on virtue, and to get the word out.

Virtue was up immediately with the other servers when they came online at noon CST.
being in the uk i cant make the head start dates but virtue will by home when i get playing
Heh, yep, played on Virtue for 14 hours...err...yesterday now.
You mean when they came online at 1pm Cst!
My fingers still hurt from clicking the broken login server for 50+ minutes. Ouch! Just typing is a chore now. 
Gonna be hard to get into all that role playing until my fingers heal, so if you see me this week expect me to be in powergame mode. Plus its embarassing having a hero of my awesome stature (Major Infinity!!) walking... on the ground! With the lower life forms.

A server where everyone agrees to ROLE play thier characters. No OOC chatting (at least a bare minimum of it) and absolutely no "leet".
A place where we can be immersive as we like and not get razzed about it.

One thing that amazes me is how some people in RP can stay immersed in there character the entire time. I enjoy doing it, but then sometimes I like to get to know the person behind the character...have I broken some RP rules by doing so?
...also...how do you deal with people in RP that come out of character?
People in RP servers will talk ooc all the time. Not nearly as much as other players, but it does happen often enough. The difference is that they specify they are speeking out of character first. Either by wrapping their ooc text in double parenthesis, putting 'OOC' before their speach, and several other combinations thereof. Also there is never any 733+ speak or anything lame like that. Often there are acronyms, (BRB, ty, afk, etc.) but they almost exclusively occur in OOC text.
Caios - Modern. Vampire. Cowgirl, not Catgirl.
Karnage - Monster. Psychopath. Fun at Parties.
FyreShadow - Innocent. Naive. God-like Powerful.
Queen Armitage - Caring. Exiled. and out of Options.

Question regarding etiquette (I figure RPers are probably the best to ask). I know a lot of folks get angry about the whole Kill-Stealing business, so I always ask if someone needs help before jumping in... on offense. My character is strongly bound to helping people however, and I often heal a player that looks like they are having difficulty if I happen upon them. Is that considered bad etiquette as well?

That's a shame, I couldn't login with my name on virtue, so I was forced to create on Gaurdian. I was hoping to play more of a character than arcade with you fine gentleman/ladies 
I would say, make a key binding that says "Need help?" and wait for their answer. People who look like they might be about to die could have a row full of heal inspirations. As a defender it was nice to be able to heal people if it looked like they were gonna bite it. You help them win, and you dont kill steal.
See I totally bogle at the whole "kill steal" thing... 
I mean they've already set up the system to deliver XP and drops according to Damage dealt. If I run up and do the Coupe De Grace on a Red (High danger to me) My damage will be peanuts compared to what brought the baddy down. So I'll get maybe 1 or 2 xp, they'll take the lions share and the odds of me getting the drop will be less that 2%. The only thing that get's hurt is maybe someone's pride, and what better introduction to start some great RP'ing! I've had people rush in to try and "get a piece" if they're over their heads, I'll step back and laugh as I let them take the agro (focus of the attacks)
Treat them like they're crazy IC, and send them a tell that everybody around them is RPing.
Edit: And my post takes 15 minutes to make it to the board. How odd.
