"Weapon customization?"
Yeah... I cried. And I need to change my pants.
I want to shake all of your hands and give you baked goods. -
I can't possibly say "NEAT!" loudly enough.
So relating this over to the infinity/Ourobouros image that's our Issue 11 teaser, and we get the idea that a time-travelling villain alters player character's past so that they never completed their training mission, with slightly more massive consequences heroside than villainside. Since each character (has had the option to have) completed these missions, this implies that each individual character's history was that pivotal event, which is nifty.
I can't wait to see how this plays out as a game mechanic. I imagine it'll involve an "event" mission in which players have to go back behind the scenes of "their" first mission and stop the saboteur. Probably be sent back to a netural time frame to do it over if they fail.
I wonder if hero zones will shift into a different "Outbreak" version (and villain zones into a different "heroes rule") version as part of an event.
Speculation fun! -
This is happening a lot sooner than I'd hoped. I don't get a lot of time to play, and I discovered that if I turn my visual settings all the way down, the game actually becomes playable even during invasions.

Yes, PLEASE more powerset sharing. In no particular order, I want:
- An Electric Tanker
- A Storm Summoning Mastermind
- A Plant Controller
- A Mind Blaster
And more than anything else? CONTROLLER-SPECIFIC SECONDARIES. (*ahem* Had a cough there.) They have always, always felt like they had hand-me-down secondaries. Give me something that goes thematically with Gravity or Earth. -
sort-of wasted one of my votes. I couldn't care less about Electric Hammer, but I've been waiting years for an electric hero melee set. I don't especially want it to be a hammer.
I don't like weapons powers: just say no to it if it's a blade (energy, dual, or otherwise), spear, ball-and-chain or what-have you. Psionic weaponry is the only one I'll give a pass, since it could get creative and varied.
I agree that I'd really like more of a description of some of the ideas behind these powersets. When I voted for Density, I was thinking "Vision!"... but that also means a phasing power that isn't, y'know. Useless.
I voted for Street Fighting because I know that people have wanted more than one melee style for years. There are the Iron Fists of the world, and then there are the Power Men.
I also voted for Growth, although what I really wanted was Shrinking. I know these would be a pain to implement, but they just sound so! Neat!
Despite some hitches with how the poll went, I was glad to see this. There are some neat ideas in these powersets. -
First off, THANK YOU Brawler for this post. You're the bestest.

I really dislike the glowing on my Invuln tanker, and at times it has been nexeccary to turn the toggles off in order to 'see' something close by.

There are some powersets that I simply will not take due to some combination of visual effects (Spines, Invulnerability) and audio effects (Invulnerability, Force Field.) A fade-out on some of these powers would make me mad-happy.
It stinks that stuff like this, which many players, want, is so hard to implement, getting in the way of what can reasonably be argued to be more substantial content. (See also, those of us way more interested in droppable costume pieces than invention sets.) Then again, CoH has, over time, implemented a lot of time-consuming or impossible things.
...have I mentioned how much I adore the flight poses...? -
I'm very interested in this discussion, as I've long thought that Stamina was absolutely required for many builds to be fun. (I.e., not having all your Endurance drained after a fight and having to grit one's teeth while waiting for the Endurance bar/Rest to recharge.)
My Storm Defender's life got much, much better after she picked up Stamina, although that was many issues ago. I slotted my Tanker for Endurance reducers, and it's just absurd. One fight with a few thugs takes her down to nothing.
I'm a big fan of taking all of one's primary and secondary powers, and I've been trying to find a way to avoid taking Stamina on my Scrapper, since there's honestly only one power in the primary set I'd outright skip. (Warrior's Challenge. I want more aggro... why?)
Some of the posts I've read in this thread basically imply that Stamina isn't necessarily worthwhile. I'd love to get more perspectives on that. -
Hey, thanks for the update on the release date! A few thoughts:
- I was under the impression that, in scope, I7 is bigger than most of the other Issues we've gotten so far, largely due to the number of completely new powersets, additional animation time, etc. Recluse's Victory is something the dev team haven't tried before. I'd expect it to take longer. Admittedly, I'm a layperson, and admittedly, there have been big content releases before.
- I'm really hoping that, in future, content additions (in the sense of issues) could be divorced from balance changes. The changes to how Defense is calculated really shouldn't have had to wait this long, even though the Issue takes... well, as long as it takes. I realize that the current development philosophy is that they be dovetailed, but I'm hoping that can be re-evaluated. -

Are there plans to make story-arc missions with team requirements from the get-go? sort of like a 'mini task force' type of thing? Because I think that would be really neat, as suddenly having one mission in a story arc be team required could be annoying, having an entire story arc with your team could be a lot of fun

That is a lovely idea! I'd very much like to see this.
I really do love the idea of missions that require multiple heroes to complete, and appreciate the developers switching these from story arc missions to "optional" missions, giving both soloists and group types the best of both worlds.
Missions need gratuitous desserts, though - pie, muffins, tiramisu. I hope these can be ready for Issue Three. -
Hey, Major Infinity!
Where'd you end up? I never found out what happened to you after your first adventure or two with Project: Rebirth.
