I’ve been playing (exclusively on Virtue) on and off, every few months since Beta and I can honestly say four things...
1. I rarely have trouble finding a team, and even less trouble building a team. Seems no one wants to bare the weight of responsibility one endures when they are required to recruit teammates and pick the next mission.
2. I think I have more fingers and toes than the number of people I have met more than once, including guild mates. Seems like most people get bored of their characters after a few days, switch to another and don't come back to the first one for a long time.
3. RP is exhausting. I always try to RP if someone approaches me in character, but it seems like most RPers have a certain scenario in mind when they initiate conversation and there is little that can be done to alter the inevitable outcome. I always thought it would be easier for people to RP superheroes than Fantasy characters, but I was wrong. Fantasy characters practically RP themselves and when you create a character concept from scratch, it often ends up being so filled with the ego of the creator that it stagnates any chance for meaningful RP to occur.
4. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of people who know how to run their characters in a mission, and I dare say that the creative quality of their costumes and concepts has paralleled their toon piloting skill. This is what keeps me coming back.
