If you have vSync on and your monitor is refreshing at 60Hz (like most LCDs), then you aren't going to go over 60fps because vsync keeps the frame displays inline with video refresh.
On the one hand, this "lowers" your framerate. On the other hand, if you turn vSync off, you will get drawing artifacts when moving quickly (like Superjump, superspeed, etc.)
If you want to see your "unfiltered" frame rates, then turn vSync off. But I suspect you will want to keep it on to reduce the artifacts. -
My experience on Infinity has done downhill fast the last couple of weeks. I'll have to try my alts on Virtue a while. Extra information: my ISP is Road-Runner from Time-Warner.

The page you linked to list 4 contacts who do story arcs in each Nerva and St. Martial. You're telling me you've done 8 contacts all the way through only gone from 35-37? Unless you're playing on the lowest difficulty I don't believe it.
If you don't have any current contacts, do paper mission until you get a Mayhem mission. Complete the Mayhem and you'll get a new contact.
If you don't want to do that, you can go to the Rikti War Zone and start that arc.
Do you have any book icons on older contacts? It's possible you aren't getting new story arcs because you already have older ones opened. You can only have 2 open contact arcs opened at a time. Go back and talk to any old contact with a book icon and complete the arc to clear it out. -
I had this problem. Someone else in the forums pointed out the issue. For some reason, the permissions on the files are messed up preventing you from deleting the files and moving in new ones when patching. I changed the permissions manually to fix the problem.
Open a Terminal window (the Unix shell prompt):
cd /Applications/City of Heroes.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming
chmod -R a+rw c_drive
See if that makes things better for you. There's probably a way to do this in the Finder GUI, but I'm a Unix geek, so this is fine for me. -
The first thing I would do is upgrade to 4GB of RAM. For some reason, on this game on the Mac, 2GB just doesn't seem to cut it. I tried running the game with 2GB and it was pretty slow and I had issues. After I upgraded to 4GB of RAM in my MBP, the game ran faster and was more stable. CoH itself needs a good 1.3-1.4 GB just to run. And the Windows compatibility stuff sucks even more RAM. That gets you up to 2GB real fast.
-
I think this is pretty straight forward. Only 1 GB of RAM and there's lots of stuff running in the background. I'll bet that when the machine "slows down", the hard drive is going crazy. It's going crazy because it's swapping memory out to disk. I recommend having at least 2GB of RAM, especially with all that stuff running.

The Logitech web site lists plenty of mice with Mac support. I even own one of them, a VX Revolution. I use the VXR with my MacBook Pro. For home use if you want something bigger maybe try the MX Revolution. The Mac software supports button remapping. However, I have not personally used that feature. I only use the left and right mouse buttons and the scroll wheel in CoH.

I own a Logitech G5 and have it attached to my iMac. Unfortunately, Logitech does *not* support the G5 on the Mac. The Logitech Control Software does not recognize the G5 plugged into a Mac. You can't map the other buttons at all.

Yep, this is either overheating or a failing video card. I've had this issue before with a bad video card.

SGs get a prestige bonus for every member they add up to a certain number (like 20 or something like that). If people drop from the SG, then that bonus is taken away. So it's possible to have negative prestige if people leave the supergroup and that bonus prestige was already spent on the base.

Try messing with the "3D sound" setting. Try turning it off and on to see which setting sounds better.

When I've tried using that bind in the past, I always got the targetting circles. But you would not see it unless you happen to point it at some place you couldn't teleport and got the Angry Red Circles of Doom(tm). So I'd say the circles are "normal".

Exactly... smoke them. As long as they are *all* smoked, you can toebomb with trip mine with your Clocking Device on. If you miss any with smoke bomb, that one will get alerted, thus alerting the others in the group.
Time bomb is too annoying to use, because it takes too long to go off. -
For my laptop, I use the Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks. It's an awesome little mouse, comes with a nice carrying bag and a nice mini-USB transmitter. Works great with my Mac Book Pro.
For desktop-oriented systems, Logitech also sells keyboard/mouse combos that are wireless. The nice thing about the combo systems is that the same transmitter is used for the keyboard and mouse. Thus it only eats one USB port for both! Logitech makes several products that are specifically compatible with Macs. They even make one keyboard that has Mac keys on it. You could use them on laptops too, but they take up a bit of room. I used one of Logitech's wireless keyboard/mouse combos on my Mac Mini. -
A member of a regular team I play with picked up Team Teleport. I can confirm it was working as of about two weeks ago. Haven't seen it used since. I have the Team Teleport on one of my alts. Maybe I'll try it out if I get the chance.

First, what resolution are you trying to play at? That's not clear in your question.
Second, I notice you have 2 Gig of RAM. This is not a whole lot. Maybe you are running out of memory. Considering that CoH is being emulated, it may take quite a bit of memory. More memory, possibly, than on the Windows side. Are you running lots of other apps in the background? Those would suck memory as well.
Usually low memory would not necessarily cause low frame rates though. Unless memory is *really* low. I have 4 Gig of RAM in my MBP and don't have serious performance problems. But I have a friend with one of the new 15" MBPs and he only has 2 Gig of RAM right now. He mentioned he was seeing the same frame rate on both the 9400 and 9600 chips. Seems kinda suspicious to me.
I would run the Activity Monitor program. Once the game is launched, Alt-Tab out and look and see what your memory usage is. -
It can take up to 24 hours for new accounts to show up on the Test Server which the Open Beta is using. It happens instantly for the Live Server, only extra lag for this server. Give it a day to activate.

Base Salvage Exchange to Invention Salvage
1) What is the negative effect on your base for this feature implementation?
4) What side effects to this system do you currently see from transitioning the old to new system?
5) What security concerns do you have regarding this change?
[/ QUOTE ]
I just thought of a horrifying scenario I can see happening. Let's say I'm the base builder and I want to add teleporters. Oh wait, I need rare invention salvage to make it. That means influence/infamy. So I need to keep track of my real costs to make those teleporters, getting all of the salvage on the market. It could cost millions to make 4 teleporters (needed for all of the villain zones). Let's say 10 million total. So I take that 10 million and divide it by the 5 people in our small SG.
Now I need to take up a collection of a 2 million "special assessment" per person to get that functionality. And I can really only do it because I know there are 5 people behind those 50 alts in the SG.
Larger SGs aren't going to have that luxury. Won't they need to create SG "influence dues" in order to create craftable items in the case? It's crazy, but it could happen. Players not only need to run in SG mode to create prestige, but they also need to pay into the coffers to buy invention salvage to create craftable items.
I don't like where this is going. -

Base Repricing
1) How will the repricing of bases affect you personally?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not much... I will probably ignore it for the existing bases. For some smaller SGs I'm in it will mean they can get up and running faster.
[ QUOTE ]
2) Will you dismantle your base to gain the additional prestige from the repricing?
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably not on the filled out bases.
[ QUOTE ]
3) How long would this process take you if you were to engage in this practice?
[/ QUOTE ]
8-10 hours, maybe.
[ QUOTE ]
4) What are the positive and negative concerns regarding repricing?
[/ QUOTE ]
For new bases, I'm happy. For existing bases, it's just disappointing since I don't want to have to put in the effort to get back prestige. And what happens with crafted items like teleporters? Now I need new expensive salvage? That's totally not worth it.
[ QUOTE ]
5) How will this feature affect you long term and short term?
[/ QUOTE ]
Short-term and long-term it just means we get functional bases faster. I typically make SGs with a small group of friends and it takes a while before we can get a functional base.

Base Salvage Exchange to Invention Salvage
1) What is the negative effect on your base for this feature implementation?
[/ QUOTE ]
It makes teleporters MUCH more expensive. Before I could ask SG people for base salvage and they would happily contribute. Now I have to ask them for expensive arcane salvage worth millions on the market? It will make it MUCH more difficult to get teleporters built since they will be so expensive.
[ QUOTE ]
2) What is the positive effect on your base for this feature implementation?
[/ QUOTE ]
None that I can see.
[ QUOTE ]
3) How long will it take you to adjust to learning this new system?
[/ QUOTE ]
Learning isn't the hard part. It's the cost that's the hard part. Base items will now require people to give up influence essentially because I need salvage that people would otherwise sell. Whereas before it only required time.
[ QUOTE ]
4) What side effects to this system do you currently see from transitioning the old to new system?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it will be harder to get crafted items made because they will be so expensive.
[ QUOTE ]
5) What security concerns do you have regarding this change?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, now salvage storage isn't really a security concern. But now it will be a MAJOR issue since it is all invention salvage which has real value. This change is introducing problems without any real benefits that I see.
