EVGA 295 GTX: special settings?
Turn off vsync if you're trying to get more frames. I run a GTX 280 and Easily get way more than 50 frames.
I have all settings on max except for world detail which I keep around 150%. The AE buildings seem to cause my frames to drop if I push it to maximum.

Silly question, but you've updated your drivers right? Reason I ask, is that is a bit low FPS for that card. Even if Vert Sync is on, that should cap at 60, not 50. Might be some sillyness there.
Also, check in the nVidia control panel to see if anythig is set REALLy high...like 16 times FSAA or something else that might be needlesly high set.
Yeah, I was kind of expecting 60+ FPS based what I have read.
I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit (Service Pack 2, v.113)
Direct X version 10.0
After installing the card, I downloaded installed Driver Version 190.38 from EVGA's site.
Should I have installed the additional SLI enhancement patch? I know the 295 has two processors on it but does that mean I should treat it as an SLI rig? I only installed a single 295 card.
No, if you have only 1 gtx 295 you shouldnt have to install 2 drivers for it. I had the 9800 gx2 before and it was a "2 cards in one" setup as well.

I installed the EVGA over clock tool. I didn't mess with any of the settings but I noticed I peaked out around 60 FPS. Not sure how that tool made a difference if at all. I still need to read up on how to tweak it.
EDIT: Almost forgot. The EVGA tool created a new annoyance. When ever I click on a different window, the gaming monitor would freeze. I have to alt tab off the game then back on and it un-freezes. Not sure if this is a dual display issue or just the EVGA tool.
If you have vSync on and your monitor is refreshing at 60Hz (like most LCDs), then you aren't going to go over 60fps because vsync keeps the frame displays inline with video refresh.
On the one hand, this "lowers" your framerate. On the other hand, if you turn vSync off, you will get drawing artifacts when moving quickly (like Superjump, superspeed, etc.)
If you want to see your "unfiltered" frame rates, then turn vSync off. But I suspect you will want to keep it on to reduce the artifacts.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll experiment with this.

It sounds like everything is running smoothly. I have a few suggestions to get everything hunky dory.
First, enable vsync. It may cap your FPS at 60, but your monitor can't display anything more than that anyway. Vsync keeps the picture smooth. Also, go into your nVidia control panel and enable triple buffering; this will help keep FPS high and latency low when vsync is on. While you're there, change antialiasing to "enhance the application setting" and 16x.
You can also experiment with the SLI settings. I don't know if CoH benefits from the second graphics chip.
Forgive my brevity and poor grammar, I typed this on my phone.

Should I be using special settings for a EVGA 295 GTX vid card?
Full rig specs:
- Core I7 920
- 6 gigs of RAM
- Windows Vista x64
- EVGA 295 GTX vid card FTW edition
I just got the video card. While there was a significant improvement in the graphics (compared to my previous 7900 GTX vid card), but I kind of expected my frame rates to peak over 50 FPS.I haven't fiddled with the utilities for the card yet. Figured I'd make sure I didn't need a slash command in the launcher or some silliness.
