  1. Side note: FE will allow you to surpass the damage cap!
  2. I posted this on my SGs website and thought it might come in handy for some folks here too. I run these as fast as I can so that's the angle this guide was written from. This is ONLY for lvl 50 hero tips.

Tip: Use a base TP'r to get to Dark Astoria in order to get tips fast.

Tip: Call your contacts in Atlas Park, most of the missions will spawn there and since its a small zone it cuts down on your travel time.

Here is a list of the level 50 hero tips. This should make it easy to know what tips to dismiss when you want to get done quick. I'll start with the ones I always skip:

Your Life Story, wait what? - Knives
Free the hostage and lead her out. Hostage will fight everything on the way to the door, turning this into a kill all.

    Elegant Party Favor - Carnies
3 Hostages to lead out. They don't fight

Malta Gunslinger Action Figure - Malta
Talk to Longbow guy, then suffer 10 (I think) ambush waves and a named boss (or Lt)

**Those are the worst, next few I'll skip if I'm in a hurry but aren't really that bad**

An Unstable Trigger - 5th Column
Kill Oberst (always in a room near entrance). Find/talk/kill "Maelstrom" (look for Vamps). Destroy Bomb Container

Shattered Jar of Flesh - Arachnos - Always spawns in IP
2 Kills (Executioner Gage and Fortuna Tomara)

Blatantly Fake Malta Plans - Malta - [Prone to Glitch]
Free 1 hostage (always in last room) and kill ambush leader "Commander Pike"

You're a Cruel One Mr. Phipps - Arachnos - May spawn in IP
Free 3 Hostages then click 1 blinkie and kill "Hollowpoint"

Out of the Corner of your Eye - Carnies
2 hostages to free, 1 must be lead out (does not fight) and kill assassin.

    **Below are the fast ones**

    A Clever Trap - Rikti
4 Hostages to free (1 is Stalwart) and 1 blinkie to kill

    Can't Keep Your Balance - D.E.
3 Bombs and kill "Demolisher" (always spawns as a boss even if your set to "No Bosses")

    Doc Quantum's Moral...... - Council
Free "Subdued Sky Dragon" and kill "Doc Quantum" (he comes to you)

    A Biting Wind - Longbow
Free "Polar Shift" and Destroy alter

    Miss Thystle's Plea - Nems
Free "Frostfire" and Kill your Doppelganger

    Broken Pocket Watch - Nems
4 Bombs and free 2 hostages

    Scrawled Bark - D.E.
4 Hostages to free and Kill "Executioner" These are usually all in the same room and boss will spawn as Lt. (if you are set for no bosses)

Art, Psychics & You - Carnies
find 3 blinkies and kill boss "Mistress Reline" Then kill "Flambeaux"

    Explosion in Perigrine - Freaks
2 Bombs, kill Blast Furnace and Flambeaux

Some Nut on the Radio - Longbow
1 Blinkie and kill "Senior Agent Freymuth"

(let me know if I have missed any)

Using my original paper copy of this list I get done with tips in about 30 min from start to finish.
  3. It depends on several factors. What are your build goals? Does your tank have trouble staying alive? Do your attack come back fast enough? Are you near the S/L soft cap?

Since the 2 sets offer very different bonuses, its dependent on what you want to get out of your build. (Or perhaps how much inf you have socked away)
  4. My thoughts behind Parry is that it will be useful when I exemp or when I get Debuffed, I expect it to be situational and not get a great deal of use.

"You can also move the Glad Proc to One With the Shield and move the space to Deflection. Then you can move the Steadfast Proc there, offering a boost to S/L Resistance. It's a small boost, but every bit helps when you get hit."

I like this idea a lot, ty. Also moving the Winters Gift is certainly a good idea but I'm gonna have to sleep on that, I really like being fast (not slotting a straight run speed enhancer in there was a tough choice, lol)

Edit- after looking over the build, its hard to argue with the WG move. That AH proc is very enticing.

As for the Alpha, I figure I'll get it built and do some testing to see if further end redux is needed. I must say I'm a big fan of the Cardiac though, I have gotten great results with it on some other toons.

Thank you for taking the time to look over my build!
  5. Here is another BS/SD build. I have looked through the other threads about this and taken inspiration and added my own thoughts to come up with my take on this combo. I have looked at Bass's build and, while awesome, I'm not willing to invest about 10 bill into this guy at the moment. (Kudos to Bass on an awesome build though)

My goal was soft capped def, decent recharge, and enough endurance management to wail on an AV for a few minutes without popping blues. I know the Oblits run counter to this goal but thats why I put the full sets of them into the long recharge power and the low base end cost power.

I'm skipping purples for the time being but if a purple set is really the best choice, I'm open to it. The Glad Proc is in there because I'm only 6 merits away from getting it, so no real cost associated with that for me and I already have the Hami-Os. Enzymes can go for nearly half a bill so I'd rather not put too many in but I'm open to adding a couple more if its the best choice. I'd like to stay away from any Panacea's.

So there you have it, let me know if I have overlooked anything and what you guys think. I plan to start setting him out this week. Thanks

P.S. His name is Khajja The Fang, +1 geek point if you know the reference without checking Google

    Fastest ITF?

I look at speed runs as another type of challenge in this game. One I happen to enjoy immensely. There is no reason to put the OP down for sharing his accomplishments. Those times are certainly impressive and something to be proud of. Sometimes we do things just for bragging rights and the OP has earned them. Gratz!
  7. I had a SS/invul tank build that had softcapped s/l/e/n/f/c/. When I replicated that build enhancer for enhancer on a brute all his defenses were 5-7% below softcap. I ended up building the tank because I didn't want to invest an additional couple billion to get back to cap.
So, the Brute would likely take significantly more to set out equally as well.

If you do get it back to cap though, it would certainly out damage the tank by a good margin.
  8. I assume that English is not the OPs first language so I can forgive the spelling/punctuation errors. I certainly would not know how to punctuate a paragraph in German, for example.
That being said, I agree with Bill, this doesn't really have any suggestions in it except maybe for (distilling here) "make CoH2 awesome", so it probably should be in comments section.

To the OP, I share your love for the game, as do most of us here on these forums but I think that trying to get big changes in the game as a reaction to the competition would be a mistake. CoH has been around for 7 years, due in large part to its players being very loyal. CoH is our home, some may venture out and try other things but most find their way home. I think we take the slow and steady route to improve our game and you know what they say, slow and steady wins the race!

Its become clear from your posts that you would like to see graphics upgrades and engine upgrades. I think you would have a hard time finding players that would not want those things but its a matter of realistic expectations at this point.

Is a massive overhaul possible? Sure. Likely? I don't think so.

I'd say just keep having fun in the game as you have been for the last seven years and enjoy the little surprises we get along the way.

Gratz guys! sounds like a lot of fun!

    Vendor Filtering

    Yeah, /signed
Would great for the RWZ vender.
  11. It was a very popular FotM not too long ago and I have seen them do some impressive damage. As with any /shield it will probably be expensive to set out and softcap but I doubt you would be disappointed in it. I know there are a lot of builds posted on here so check em out and see what you think.
  12. Looking good!
I was rethinking dropping Parry though. When you exemp down that extra defense could be mean life or death.
I'd probably just 1 or 2 slot it for acc and take it at an early level. Melt Armor or Grant Cover are probably powers I could live without so I'd choose one of those to drop and then adjust the build.
Unless of course you don't expect to exemp much, then its dead weight.

I think I'm going to have to roll one of these now, looks like fun!

P.S. Also take Hack instead of Slash. I just noticed it does better damage.

Edit: Here is a revised build with parry, along with many other changes. It also uses stealth (could be swapped for Manuvers but would use slightly more end) so make sure you set the options (options>Config>Effects&Maths>check box for attacked) correctly or it can be very misleading. I'd love to find a bit more recharge but without using Purps and PvPs I can't seem to squeak out any more.

This is very true, however, the current game would suffer horribly for years as there would be no time and money and energy left for it. Thats not a compromise I would be willing to make. I'll wait for CoH2 to get a new engine and if that never comes, I'm cool with what we have.
  14. Here is something I threw together real fast, Its far from perfect but should provide some ideas. (No Purps, No PvPs, full time soft cap to all positions)

  15. Hello and welcome back.
Freedom and Virtue have the highest populations but the best advise I can give you is to join some global chat channels on whatever server you decide on. They are great places to find TFs, Trials or just regular teams. Other than that just playing the game will reveal most of the games secrets. Use the help channel or one of those global channels to ask questions if you get stuck.

    Good Luck

P.S. I'm not a fan of Praetoria, all my heroes still start out in Atlas Its a preference thing, no real advantage/disadvantage but you should probably experience it at some point. It certainly looks cool!
  16. That just the 30 day temp jetpack that you buy for $4.99 in the NCSoft store.
Its been around for a good while, just don't see too many in game.
  17. Perhaps the game think PPD stands for Praetorian Pole Dancer?
  18. Wow, I usually have to pay large sums of money to get "arrested" by scantily clad police women.

    Is it just me...

My 2 cents: Not obsolete but certainly different from a few years ago. I was just talking about this to some friend and I do believe that a Tanks role has been marginalized. I have tanked LR as a scrapper and as a Ill/rad. I've tanked all the TFC TFs as well as Tin Mage and Apex with my scrap (AAO is a great aggro magnet and I have Provoke). I admit I had wonderful buffs and a smart team but I can't think of ANY reason that a tank would have been better in those situations. I wish they would increase the aggro cap on tanks to keep them relevant. Don't get me wrong, I've got many tankers and still enjoy them (and of course a scrap can't really tank hami) but its not like the good ol' days. As someone mentioned a tanks role is more to gather the mobs to maximize AoE damage these days.

I think its a good idea and has more use than being used solely as a means to invite ones own alts. Its also very cool in a thematic way.

So a day later and the mystery continues.....

Oh I got it, if you squint real hard, you can spot Waldo in the back corner.
  23. Yeah, pick the stats that you want go after and slot accordingly. Purps and PvPs may not be the best option and certainly not 6 slotted. Get rid of the Glad proc unless you build for defense, that's a 2.5 billion inf paper weight in the current build. Why take the fighting pool only to gimp the shields by not slotting them? Take a look through the forums to get some ideas, I mean no disrespect here but I'm afraid you are really on the wrong track. Better to find out now then after you spent the inf though Good luck

Yeah, I'm a bit lost on this one. Gratz?
