Fairly Expensive Spines/Fire Build Help
1. You are 6 slotting purple sets when there is absolutely no need to, only 5 purps are necessary that last bonus is pretty worthless
2. You have gone over the rule of 5 for 10% rech bonuses, you have 6 purple sets slotted
3. You plan on purchasing a glad armor unique yet you didnt build for any defenses at all
4. If this is supposed to be a farming build you are going in the wrong direction, a farming build is something that doesn't break your break, my fire/kin and fire/MM blaster have no purples and they farm just fine.
5. Just because you put tons of expensive IOs into a build doesnt make it elite.
So in conclusion if you are planning on farming only with this toon I would suggest you build for fire defense because I would like to assume you are going to run a fire dmg only AE farm and if not you need to build for S/L def or melee
Like Tek said, I think more direction on what your gonna be doing. If farming 5 slotting aegis in your shields goes a long way toward getting you fire def to 32.5, which is what i did on my ss/fa, one small purp and im fine, no need to waste time healing.
Is it a pvp build maybe? Purps are good, don't get me wrong, but a lot of builds don't really need them. They are good for the 10% recharge bonus and dam/rech numbers, but their acc and definatly their end redux could be a lot better.
If its an over all general use build, id try and get to 32.5% to all, or 45 to s/l. This should cover you for most content I would imagine, since /fire has good resists and a killer heal.
Why do you have so much psionic defense? It is a rare damage type.
If you want to farm, get 45% fire defense and only farm fire damage critters in AE.
If you want to be good for general teaming, 32.5% defense to S/L and E/N, or melee/ranged/AoE is the easiest way to be protected in almost all content. I have posted builds for both in the past. I don't feel like digging them up, but you could probably find them with the search function.
Yeah, pick the stats that you want go after and slot accordingly. Purps and PvPs may not be the best option and certainly not 6 slotted. Get rid of the Glad proc unless you build for defense, that's a 2.5 billion inf paper weight in the current build. Why take the fighting pool only to gimp the shields by not slotting them? Take a look through the forums to get some ideas, I mean no disrespect here but I'm afraid you are really on the wrong track. Better to find out now then after you spent the inf though Good luck
Thanks for the help guys. Like I said, I'm completely new to the slotting sets thing, since I usually just go for regular IOs, so I definitely don't take offense when you say I'm doing all wrong.
I picked the excess of purple sets mainly cause I wanted the recharge, figuring that would be good for getting the powers off as frequently as possible, as well as getting their other benefits. But I'll rework it to see about getting the Fire Defense up and see what I can do.
So I really like my Spines/Fire scrapper but he's in major need of an enhancement overhaul. He works fine as-is with simple IOs, but seeing as he's an absolute beast and easily makes tons of money (farming, tfs, etc) I thought I'd treat him to a very expensive build so he can dominate even more. Here's what I was thinking so far:

Level 2: StaminaSo what do you guys think? I'm fairly new to set-building so I went for as many purple sets as possible. I originally had Unbreakable Constraint in Char, but none of the bonuses worked because there were already 5 of them, so I went with the pvp one.
I finished the build and then realized Ripper had no slots, but considering its long activation time and that Impale and Throw Spines recharge quite quickly with this build I think I'll be fine without it. Of course, now it just feels like a wasted power. If you think I should put slots in it, where should I take them from?
This build is mostly for farming, to make money for future characters to get to splurge like this, as well as getting shards, etc.
