I really hope I can make it tonight; Sands is itching for some more all tanker action. Some things have come up and I may not make it back home in time. Even if I do, there's a chance I'll just crash as soon as I get home.
Have fun, everyone. With any luck, I'll be there. -
Quote:No, they don't. But when it comes to doing it on a cheap (read: No sets) build, the easiest way is to do it with a tanker. Not everyone rolls a FotM shield/elec and spends billions to get the recharge on both nukes down to 30 seconds. If someone is attempting to make a farmer for -1x8 maps they dont need to build a Tank for it. What could possbily be dangerous at -1 to any decent farming build?
I have a Dark Armor tank that solos +4/x8 Malta. That build isn't any good for farming. I made a second build with no investment that picked up hasten, fireball, and buildup. I comfortably farm -1/x8 for drops. -
Tag.
If there is a way to do this, I would like to learn how. -
While I usually am a proponent of Dark Armor, I doubt the OP wants the visual effects associated with it.
I'd suggest the stalker. Are you familiar with the Assassination Strike demoralize effect? It causes fear in the enemies, which may be what you're looking for.
Regardless, I'd go kinetic melee. It looks more "martial arts-y" to me than Martial Arts, but that's probably due to my high interest in kung fu (as opposed to karate). -
Quote:And can be mezzed in one shot.A down-scaled boss still has all the powers that it would have as a boss (usually more than a LT), but uses the lt's lower hp/damage/debuff/etc numbers.
Seriously, if you can't handle bosses (even scaled down), don't set the difficulty for x2. -

16 characters.
Only my tank uses his second build and only because it's easier to farm -2/x8 freakshow with fireball, hasten, and buildup. -
Quote:I'd like to take the time to second this.I'll just sum it up with this sentence: Clearly, you've never heard of In-character Teaming.
Oh and as a RP'er, i like to play the game and maximize my toons performance.
I am in a fairly large RPSG with an extensive coalition. Maybe only half of us are min/maxers, but all of us care about a character's performance and all of us "actually play the game." -
I'm going to suggest you read the softcap guide in my signature. It explains what various levels of defense do for you from a probability standpoint.

Any set with a damage aura, I tend to put off taking that aura until after stamina or at least after health gets slotted with a Numina's. The damage toggles are always heavy on the endurance bar.
-
Quote:I think of it this way: If my endurance is crashing, I can slow my attacks down to consume less. If both my endurance and health are crashing, then I need to be able to use Dark Regeneration without bottoming out and turning off my shields. I don't count on ToE to refill my blue bar, but I find that I can count on it to negate the cost of Dark Regen. This has been more like my experience with Theft of Essence. I don't consider it reliable enough to call it a game changer as some have, but it's one of the best way to mitigate the huge end usage of Dark Regen. It just happens to have the bonus of randomly restoring a lot of endurance from time to time. Which is a great thing when it works but a bit of a bummer when it procs on only one target of a large spawn and your end is still nearing the danger zone.
Numina's/Miracle help you all the time. ToE helps when it matters. -

If you slot the tier 1 and 2 merc henchmen with the Achilles Hell -res proc, they go from lolmercs to OMGWTFPWNmercs.
For secondary I'd go dark. It's got a whole bag of tricks and played right, you don't ever need the heal. -

Quote:Well, to be overly technical in a hopefully less than obnoxious way, turrets and pets don't have to-hit buffs. They just have a 75% base chance to hit.Yeah, good thing I said that "The Defense Soft Cap is when you reach a high enough number of defense that, barring defense debuffs or to-hit buffed enemies, you are effectively capped, and raising your defense beyond that point will not attain further benefit. The defense soft cap for players is 45%" in order to circumvent obnoxious nitpicking.

Quote:How's this for ignorance? Power suppression won't kill pets.Oh thank goodness someone else feels this way too, I hate demons masterminds with their screetching minions at WW.... it doesn't cause me any lagg but the noise bugs the hell out of me.
Wouldn't be the first time i'd gave someone abuse in /local because of their ignorance. -
Quote:This is what you want. Bodyguard mode makes this trivial. My experience is that the Longbow guys totally ignore my pets and fire directly at me.
On topic, however: While I would like Munitions, I love chill mastery. Just specced into it this week. Unfortunately, Ice Blast isn't properly unlocking the other powers, so I had to take Flash Freeze to get Hoarfrost and the armor. Hoarfrost combined with Triage Beacon and bodyguard mode makes for an incredibly tough mastermind.
Surveillance would be incredibly powerful, but masterminds can already solo GMs, so it's not needed. This would just make it faster. -

Theft of Essence is cheaper on the market, but more important. Use your merits to get the Miracle.
