And if you click on them in the list, you can 'monitor' them, which means permanently place the value on your GUI to see what its current value is as situations change.

Oh and the leader was roasted wrong smothered in wrong sauce with a side of wrongkabobs and a wrong salad
I love having an Illusionist (or Illusionista) show up on a team. KB issues add barely any real trouble to a fight, and anyone that can't manage/get that uptight about it really needs to play a different game. -
Quote:The characters I return to over and over the most are:
kick the most butt? Either through sheer destructive ability or through fun-ness of play - Dark/Cold Corruptor
- Ice/Ice Blaster
- Spines/Dark Scrapper
-
I and one of my SG mates plan to run evil praetorian versions of our two main heroes, only we're swapping. I will play his alternate self, and vice versa.
Looking forward to it. -

High 40s is the most I've managed to get also, without slotting all my IOs with a movement focus.
Slower than I'd like, but still worth it - its unsuppressed as noted, and saves a minimum of one power pick. -
Quote:I agree it would be a pleasant diversion to find that spines was instituted as a viable option for the villain archetype of brutes. The AoE damage capabilities of the set is an engaging experience in direct contrast to the frequent focus on single target damage output. I find it quite enjoyable.i whould love 2 c spines on a brute its would be nice 2 be able 2 make my scrapper as a brute cause i have made a spines/elec but the way i like my spines 2 look and my elec armor it looks like it needs 2 be a villain
I could also easily understand a perspective that would allow you to find greater affinity with a villain over a hero in using spines. The visual elements of the power offer a constant apparence of eager violence. I think this would provide a... satisfying... experience in interacting with the game as a villain.
If you were able to maintain [Fury] sufficiently, I suspect it could indeed be considered over-powered; however, I suspect that the developers of this fine game would perform some number balancing and adjustment in the background with an eye towards maintaining overall balance and, as a result, the final experience would remain enjoyable and not disruptive.
Quote:since the power of spines on a scrapper isnt that great but still fun
i think it would be a great teaming toon and it would be a toon that people would need to play not farm unless they wanted 2 suck with there spines brute lol
Quote:Spines is arguably overpowered for a Scrapper, it would certainly be so for a Brute. Two damage auras would be absolutely nasty...
You, sir, find the servers to be empty? I must beg to differ, and claim that I have found the experience to be rather busy of late, returning to I14/I15 activity levels. Granted this is anecdotalfrom my experience only. I may suggest that perhaps you are on a particularly low volume servers, have an inordinate number of other players on ignore, or perhaps your monitor has been damaged by the recent influx of chromatic change in your gaming experience and is no longer properly displaying your partners in heroism (or villainy, if that is your bent). -
Quote:You are not alone I have an SG mate or two that played 1 day or so and quit until they are fixed. 1 even said he could tell the drop rates were off, and left before it hit the boards (at least from my searches (weak search-fu possibly) to convince him to stay around).I too feel that drop rates are off. So much so, in fact, it has sucked most of the remaining fun out of the game for me. After five years, I was really looking forward to being able to run huge spawns solo and finish off more than the 2 or 3 I've finished from my stable of 70 or more chars.
My experience is backing up the general trend, and I've stayed away from my 50s as a result - other than MA arcs to collect tix (that doesn't seem broken). -
The answer to the question comes after a few play sessions while running with PuGs.
You can tell:- When no amount of trying is going to succeed at the mission with the current team.
- You can tell when no amount of resistance stands a chance against this collection of heroes.
Also, use the notes/star feature consistently... and you will start to see a pattern as players you have run with before show up again and again. I get a lot more success with 3/4-starred folks with notes like "knows what they are doing, runs a solid tank, 6-month plays like a 60-month" than the 2/3 starred folks with less complimentary notes. -
BS/Shield - just fun. the punch from BS is nice, and [Parry] goes so well with Shield I can't envision playing one without the other. The AoE keeps the basic opponents in line, but I just love chopping bosses down to size. The lack of a heal makes me sad when the defense fails me though. This is the only character I have ever considered getting the Medicine Pool for, but I just can't figure out what I'd sacrifice for it.
Claws/SR - I like SR. I just want to laugh and say "Nyah! Missed me!" as the spikey bits make a mess. The lack of heal shows up here, but less often as SR softcaps almost without trying.
Dark Melee/Regen - this is still in the teens, parked on Freedom somewhere. He was fun though, as I just felt so invincible with him. Other projects distracted me from him, though. I should get back to it sometime. (Brutes get regen? I've wondered about re-rolling him evil).
Spines/Dark Armor - My first 50 scrapper, and for a while its ruined the AT for me because I couldn't figure out how to play without out all the constant screaming around me. I hadn't played him much recently, but I16 brought him out of the closet - running solo at 8-man is a giggling continuous nuke of minion munching. Its been fun again. -

At a guess, that is exactly what this character is meant to do. On the surface it looks like it would be successful at that. Other than perhaps the KB issue noted.
leaping to conlusions: I can't remember if Mother Mayhem's troops do KB or not...
edit: yep, looking it up. there is KB there. -
Quote:This immediately brought to mind the "Matrix" and the admission by the agent that the first incarnation gave mankind peaceful utopia and it failed miserably... can't remember the exact lines.X-Files dealt with this when Mulder was trying to wish for world peace. Scully said that maybe the point to living is to help each other achieve such a lofty goal, not have it thrust upon us by some mythical entity.
Throughout our history, we have been provided works of fiction that warn us of what happens when such quick-fixes are employed. The results never end well, and our world, as a whole, does not learn from failure.
Besides, if everything's been taken care of for us, what, then, becomes the point of living? -

I can offer no comments on the KHTF issue, I have not done it, and have not noticed any other odd hostage behavior elsewhere.
I have, however, noticed multiple objects and map items that have apparently been shifted a few feet off of center. This is something that I have noticed periodically with various updates. This is usually patched and fixed when it occurs. I suspect, without any direct experience with what is reported here with Hess, that this is what may be going on. Nothing intentional and certainly not an exploit fix - a bug in an area of the game that missed testing, or was considered low enough impact at initial release to not hold up the date.
I am also disappointed that it turned up this way, but is certainly not game ruining (not wildly prevalent). -
Quote:Standard operating procedure around here requires immediate DOOM calls after any issues release (plenty of that out there) AND immediate "that was nice when/what is the next issue" posts.Sounds reasonable to me, lol. I saw I17 mentioned and I thought wow, we just got I16, how could they be mentioning I17 already.
Pretty much on schedule. -
Nope
I continue to get no second hand info that inspires me to check it out. That is true of every MMO for me, until CoH actually. -
Quote:Shield/elec melee is on my to do list... though I may flip that around as a scrapper. Can't make up my mind.Planning to roll:
- Shield Armor/Electric Melee (waited for Elec to be ported to have a Shield Tank gogo tp)
I rolled a Elec armor/Dark melee yesterday, was fun for the first 5 levels. -
Few ATs pre-twenty 'feel right'. As a personal rule, I reserve all judgement until stamina/SO levels.
And I am not one of the 'pro-tankers' around here, but, that said...
My first foray into tankers (also an invul) felt very frustrating. I deleted it. I ended up re-rolling though and stuck with it. I found that my mindset really had to shift as a tanker. On a team, it wasn't about damage (that's nice certainly, and I agree with some of the comments above). It was about making all the mobs mad 'at me' instead of the others. YMMV of course, but its nice because it really lets me focus on the difference of the AT over the others. Now, that is harder low level - you aren't as durable as you will be, and fitting in taunt, taunt aura, attacks, and defenses/resists are all tough while trying to get stamina. I frequently find that tanks one of the hardest ATs to slot.
I finally felt comfortable as a tank 2 years later after having leveled 2 to 50, when an SG-mate told me their wife really liked playing with me as a tank "...because you never seem to lose aggro." And that is what tanking is about for me. Everything else is gravy. -
I just watched it, and I got to say...
About the slickest and most professional output you've had. Very very well done technically.
And I got a little school girl when you used the black-and-white with the color blending/fading in trick early after we talked it about months ago.
Overall, well done, Samuraiko/Dark_Respite/Michelle. -
Whatever I played, I'd stay away from Pocket D.
-
No where near my home computer atm, and I did not slot for slows... so YMMV.
Summary
===
Slow early, started to really feel better after 28-32. Fun combo, my only dom that I have taken over 35 (46 or 47 now, I forget). Tastes a little like a blapper, with mez.
additional thoughts
===
Wormhole - life saving power in many situations solo, and a metric ton of fun on a team once you get the knack of positioning it.
I got a lot of mileage from slotting heal procs in my ranged powers.
Singularity is an incredibly useful pet - saved my bacon many times. He spams holds which stack with yours nicely.
Somewhat scrapper-y with all the ice sword powers, but that pumps the fun.
Lockdown Mag +2 Hold proc is sweet.
I skipped the patron shield, and survive just fine.
Power Boost is nice. I didn't slot for slows, but should work nicely together. -
If a build has a self heal, I pick that up.
However I have never felt the need, solo or team, to take the Aid Self on any AT. And on a scrapper? That's revokes my union card,... or something... doesn't it?
