So anyone bored enough to visit Champions?

I wasn't really bored, as much as saw it for $30 at Wal-Mart and figure for that much i'll give it a shot for a month. Only played maybe 2 hours and made a pretty awesome guy with the unique costume parts over there that I couldn't here, I mean he's a freaking shark!

Anybody over there trying out Champions too so I could pal around, I hate solo'n which is why I doubt this game will get renewed come end of my free month baring massive friends joining me and seeing what the "High level" content is like. So far it's amusing enough!

I'll grab a copy when it hits 20 bucks.
It's worth that much to mess around with the character creator and check out the lower levels.

But Cryptic will never get another red cent of subscription money out of me.

I know a number of Steel Paladins are checking it out at the moment. Me? I don't have the time, nor the money for another MMO subscription.

Same. If money wasn't tight I would try it. Note: try.

No, oh wait CO not the server.

Let me think about it... no not really.

Mind you I'm almost broke at the moment.

I might if they get a 14-day free trial, but I don't think I'd ever move there for much longer.

I tried it out for a couple days during the open beta and that was enough for me. I just really did not like the feel of it and the mission objective stealing was a big turn off. Me likey my 30 or so toons on Triumph just fine. That and the wife might pull a Bobbit on me if I start playing another game.

CO's managed to annoy me without my ever trying, simply because I have a couple of friends with twitter accounts playing the damn game.

Drives me insane. I don't bloody CARE.

It's deffinetly a different beast compared to CoH, which i'll deffinetly still be playing until the inevitable shutting of the doors. This is a nice change of pace since it feels more like an action game to me. $15 a month for that though? It'll hafta do something pretty amazing between level 7 and...whatever the cap is to get that out of me. When 14 day trials come deffinetly get it just to make characters though, it's what I love about CoH and it's just as awesome there.

I was in the open beta and played on the early bird period...basically got the 6 mos sub so that I could get an auto in for the STO closed. CO is, for me, very one dimentional game play. I really can't stand all of the WoW refugees kill stealing and spawn sitting. The costume creator on the other hand could keep me occupied for 2 hours. will see how i feel about it once I get my new rig and have the power to run the graphics properly....but I will be on here until the last server shuts down.

I agree. I gave it a try at NYCC and that was enough. No interest in CO at all. DCUO I will definitely try, but CO has nothing that excites me.

From all the stuff i saw on the interwebs, and the comercial for it on the Wal-Mart TVs in electronics that really dont show squat of squat.... I am so not convinced it is worth more than $10, and i shouldn't have to pay to play

After buying this game and becoming hopelessly addicted, I swore I'd never buy another online game. It's nice the urgency to play is finally gone and I can go out into the sunlight! So, I'll be honoring that promise to myself (much to the dismay of my online friends)

I know Malkore has been playing CO for a while on beta. U might wanna try to find him.

Yeah, one MMO addiction is enough for me, thanks.

basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.

Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.

No wonder why the base has been so empty!

Unfortunately, this is one Steel Paladin who needs to pass up on CO and concentrate instead on being a Steel Papa-Dukes on diaper duty

Regardless, CoX still fulfills my needs for frolicking as a superhero whenever I can grab a few minutes here and there...

I thought about trying it, but noticed that when Cryptic separated from NcSoft, COH got a lot better, started doing things that players have been asking for. So my assumption is that the majority of the talent stayed with COH (NcSoft).
Besides I have heard more than one reference to CO being more like WoW for Heroes... Not a selling point to me!

I bought a copy of CO on launch day, despite having a pretty poor experience during the short time I was in Closed Beta. I justified it because of my writing jobs (see sig), but I wasn't very happy when I tried it out the first couple of days after launch. The only computer in my house capable of running it *should* have run it a lot better than it did, and the performance issues were just too much for it to be enjoyable for me.

However, they've made tremendous strides towards performance since launch day, and I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I tried again and found it to be quite playable for me, even with higher settings. However, I still can't stand the interface; it just looks like they've tried to copy too much of a campy comic book look for the whole thing (not even talking about the character models, although that's somewhat true for those too). The interface, the mission text boxes, everything... just looks very amateurish to me and it's too jarring for me to really get into the game.

Bottom line is, I feel like the very few things that CO does better than CoH just aren't enough to justify playing it *instead* of CoH, and probably not even alongside it. It's one of those things where I'll probably re-up every few months to see its progress (primarily in the name of "research") but I can't see myself subscribing long term.

I subscribe to CoH a year at a time, and I don't see that changing when it's time to re-up in March, so it's not like CoH is losing any of my money.

Nope

I continue to get no second hand info that inspires me to check it out. That is true of every MMO for me, until CoH actually.

i'm on right now, i dunno how i like it so far. seems kinda slow. feels real slow actually. the toons that r running around right now look amazing though. tutorial seemed really long. granted by the time i got the game updated i had a few drinks but 2+ hours for instructions seems a bit excessive in any state of mind.

anyway i'm camelzigzag if you need a teammate but i'm only like lvl 6 i think.
