  2. I'd actually hoped that they'd revamp the Shadow Shard into a series of co-op zones (actually, 5 new zones: 1 hero, 1 villain, 1 hero-themed co-op, 1 villain-themed co-op, and 1 open PVP), but the addition of those new badges prety much dashed my hopes for a total revamp.

I don't think it counts pets at all, but it definitely doesn't count temp pets. Unless they changed it, in which case I shall bring the wrath of a thousand headbutts upon whomever checked that bit of code in...
  4. If I'm around on Friday, then I'm definitely willing. I've got nukes, Shivans and heavies, and I'm perfectly happy dropping them all on a single Malta jerk.
  5. Rule of Fives -- You can apply 5 LotG +7.5% recharges in any given build, for a global +37.5% recharge.

(The "Rule of Fives" is based on the name of the set bonus, so you can actually pair 5 LotGs with up to 5 other unrelated +7.5% recharge bonuses.)
  6. Is it downloading the whole thing (4GB~ish), or just a patch?

Is it actually downloading, or just verifying?

Did you legitimately install/download previously, or did you just copy an installation over from another hard drive?
  7. I'd get a small SSD and just install your games on it, then use a standard drive for your OS and regular apps.

I have a similar setup, but I'm using two regular SATA drives. I got a noticable improvement on my rig just by moving CoH off of the primary drive.

(Actually, I now personally build systems with three drives: 1 250GB OS drive, 1 500GB game drive, and 1 1TB+ storage drive.)

    Day Jobs Over.

My badge villain just got his last one on Saturday, and my hero should have his last one about two hours before I get up for work tomorrow morning.
  9. Just making sure you're talking about Shuriken and not Exploding Shuriken. Regular Shurikens should auto-crit from Hide, but the exploding ones are AoE attacks, and as such, do not auto-crit by design.

I'm pretty sure I was getting critical hits using Laser Eye Beams the other day, but that's on my secondary build which I rarely use. (As you mentioned, the Patron single-target attacks do definitely crit with no problems.)

Namely, the abilities to make your cleavage larger then your head. Real girls, in real life, don't have breasts that big. And that bothers me a lot. I'll admit I'm sensitive to that stuff, I am not as.. endowed... as others, but still! I imagine that feature was developed by males, for males. All the females I know set their cleavage at a minimum, because thats an actual size.
As a dude (and therefore a huge fan of cleavage and the things that create it), even I agree that the chest slider at the medium setting is unrealistic for the game's standard female frame. I usually design my female characters somewhere between 0 and 25%, and I think I've got one "top heavy" girl at about 35-40%.

I do understand that oversized sweater puppets have been a staple of the American superhero comic for the last twenty years or so, and that there are people out there who are going to want them on their characters... but I think they should have, upon creating the body sliders (they became available in what, Issue 2, 3?), they should have taken into account that some people actually want to make characters with chesticles smaller than a B-cup as their low end.

He is. Dude's been on my ignore list for at least a year.

That is indeed the case. The contacts have different dialog depending on whether your character originated in Primal or Praetorian Earth, but the missions are otherwise identical.

I'll keep hoping for more. In the meantime I really wish I could make this whole thread go away.
Why, because people didn't like your suggestion? Pfft. Just because people in general don't seem to like the idea doesn't mean you shouldn't have posted it.
  12. I'm not much better, R4ND. Though I've only got two accounts, I've been playing since the game's launch, and I just got my 5th level 50 a little under two weeks ago... and that was only because I PLed through the 20s and 30s on him.

Granted, I think the vast majority of my time is spent badging with my mains, but I totally get how you feel when everyone else talks about having 20+ level 50 characters.
  13. While not my main, perhaps my favorite character to play is my Grav/Kin Controller, Out Of Sight. He's built more to focus on buffing the team, so that means reapplying Speed Boost, Grant Invisibility and Increase Density after every major fight.

Between all the buffing and making sure bad guys are locked down (and the primary attackers get plenty of FS), not to mention off-healing with Transfusion, it leads to a very frenetic play style, but I find it thrilling most of the time.

As someone whose main characters both use SR, I second the hell out of this sentiment. EA is way more fun to play.

Your sheer optimism is the only thing keeping my palm from colliding with my forehead right now.

It ain't gonna happen. I doubt anyone but a skeleton crew is going to be in the office for the next three weeks. Certainly not enough staff to run a full beta--the previous super-duper closed i20 beta was limited to a scant few things, centered around the new Behavioral Adjustment Facility raid they talked briefly about at the last Meet & Greet.

It didn't contain everything that's scheduled to go in i20... at least that's my understanding. The only players who know for sure signed a piece of paper saying that NCSoft can vaporize them from their deadly space satellite if they so much as blink any unreleased info in Morse Code.

Not true, I've seen LOTS of threads about how much the current respec system sucks over the last 6 months. Castle himself commented during the Going Rogue beta that it's something they're looking into, but it's not currently on the development time table.

But yes, the current respec system sucks so hard that it turns black holes inside out.
  17. That Necro MM looks like my ex girlfriend. I find it fitting--she belongs in the Rogue Isles.
  18. Just to play devil's advocate here, I actually would pay to respec the secondary powersets of my mains. They're currently using Super Reflexes, but Willpower fits the characters' concepts better. (The Willpower powerset wasn't available when I rolled my Scrapper in late April, 2004, nor was it available when I created my Stalker in October of 2005.)

And due to my badge collections, re-rolling is out of the question... unless they let me copy all the badges over to new characters upon deleting the current ones, in which case I would pay for that option instead.
