Third Build for Incarnates?

During the Betas where we tested the Alpha Slot one piece of feedback that we received was that the Alpha Slot abilities do not work when you exemplar down, and the abilities themselves compensate for some Enhancements you may have on your character. These two things do not play well together, exemplaring down means using the Enhancements you have slotted, but it may not be generating the desired effect since you no longer have your Alpha ability running.

Our solution to this dilemma was to add in an unlockable third build, granted when characters unlock the Alpha slot. This gives the players the flexibility they have asked for in slotting their charactesr for exemplaring, as well as slotting them for Incarnate abilities and still including whatever they were using their second slot for (soloing, grouping, PvP, etc.) Unfortunately, this feature of the system slipped through the cracks and a patch note was never generated for it. It’s in there and works right now, you just might not have been fully aware. Using the third build is not an exploit or a bug, it’s working as intended by us.

Since you now have the potential for three builds, we’ll be granting a 3rd freespec with this issue on Wednesday December 15th.

Where is that guy who takes credit for the devs giving us respecs?

The third respec is all well and good, but it's taking me 4 or 5 respecs to sort out my main build on some toons, let alone the others. I never thought I'd say this as a 78 month vet, but I've used all my vetspecs on some toons.

There are some builds where I planned on using a respec or two to remove a few IOs I slotted at level 30, but now in addition, maybe because I got some extra defence from the alpha slot, I want to take out 3 (valuable) sets that gave me extra defence and slot 3 sets of purples instead. 3 freespecs is not enough.

Thank you! It's like an early Christmas or something. Didn't make the deadline on a few 50s of mine and my wife's. This will give us the opportunity to get those toons setup as well.

I kid! This is awesome. I also have several toons for whom even the 2 freespecs weren't enough to pull all the IOs w/o destroying them (replacing like 5 full sets of Obliteration, among others). Even the 3rd won't be enough to do them all, but it'll get more of the job done (yes, I have many vet-specs and trial-specs, but I really don't like using those ). Thanks, Posi!

Hurray, a third freespec! This'll fix the slots that I accidentally put in the wrong power on my first freespec! *_*

(Well, I intended to put them there originally, but didn't pay attention to the fact that I went over 5 of the same set bonuses and needed to rearrange a bit...)
