On an Earth Domi I'd stick it into the AOE Hold. On other Domis I wouldn't bother because almost invariably when I'm triggering the AOE hold I've got Domination mode up as well.
The Single target hold isn't a bad place for it, since it's your bread and butter move. But if you're perma-dom don't bother.
My Fort and my Plant/Emp controller both have it in their single target holds for that reason. -
Quote:Faultline to Dark Astoria isn't that bad, Pocket D links Faultline and Talos, go from there to Dark A.Crossing the street isn't crossing 5 zones for no reason. Especially going to obscure zones like Dark Astoria. In fact, one of the reasons I'm opposed to constant zoning is it makes my client crash faster.
And dumbing down isn't the same thing as removing pointless time sinks. Unless you think there's actually a challenge presented by going to another zone.
In fact even without the Pocket D link it's Faultline, Skyway, Talos DA. And the distance needed to be travelled in Skyway isn't long.
The travelling is the last thing I'd be complaining about in a Manti TF. What about every other bloody thing about it (the same map and enemy type nearly all the way through, a non-existant story and a non-entity as the final AV. You don't get to fight the noteworthy adversary at the end, you get to fight their butler!) -
Nope, you can't have a level 1-19 Domi in Paragon City or a level 1-19 Controller in the Rogue Isles. Level 20 up is the only point you can co-mingle the ATs.

Quote:Why are you waiting for them, I personally don't like going at the pace of the slowest person at the moment. They'll catch up at some point. If theres 5 or more people ready then go for it is my mottoI agree with this 100%.
There's how to Lead, and there's how to Follow.
Usually the biggest problems for me happen on council maps. Always 2 or 3 players are stuck or just not quite up to where the group is. I stop and wait for them. At this point some impatient person, usually a Controller with an AOE immobilize, decides that they want to tank the spawn.
Look folks, if you open up on it, you'd better be able to tank it. There's a thread in the scrapper forums titled "You are under no obligation to save me." And I'm not. You aggro'd it, you tank it. I'm waiting for the rest of the team, and if you don't like that, please leave.
Sorry for being cranky here but that's how I feel.
I do have a tendency to be that controller mind, if im reasonably sure I'll survive long enough to control them all -
Quote:In that case I got lucky, a tank I had been teaming with duoed it with me which made it doable. That's what I mean by kryptonite really, Praetoria has enemies for almost any power combo which are just a dead end, you'll get slaughtered by them. My scrapper loved ghouls and syndicate, but hated clockwork of all kinds. My elec/nrg domi had no issue with them but hated Destroyers and was the one who was stopped dead by Vanessa. Are you soloing content? I did prae content with teams and it was challenging in the underground but above I had no problems with it.
Also, is the AI different for Prae. I thought I read something about Prae having new dev engineering/features.
Admittedly this is all before the diff settings were added, -1 makes a big difference when you're trying to solo something which you're weak against.
Praetoria is the most interesting starting points in the game to solo though, storywise. i just wish someone went through the enemy lists there are pared some powers back a wee bit. -
Quote:Actually I've found the biggest issue is that the content, in terms of the abilities enemies have, are more suited to level 30+ characters rather than levels 1 to 20. I mean Vanessa pulls tricks rather like Trapdoors, but he's level 50 content, she's level 19/20. She's like the Master Illusionist from hell.I read about all of you complaining but we have not had any real contact with the "Players" in Praetoria yet. Tyrant, Anti-Matter, Black Swan, Chimera, Diablique, Dominatrix, Spectra II, Infernal. I could go on....
Give it a chance people. The content we have rec'ved has been level 1-20 not 30-50. Your comments are thoughtless.
The enemies are overdesigned for the level range they're in. There's too much kryptonite in there and you don't tend to have a Plan B available at that range because you don't have all your tools yet. -

As for ice, I don't really see the long term value of power boost with plant. My seeds have around a 17 second recharge and about a minute duration. If I had it I would probably use it most frequently with Spirit Tree and Vines. It'd be nice, but I don't think it's as versatile as fire's increased damage.
Power boost won't affect the Regen from Spirit Tree (or Regen in general) I'm afraid. -
Quote:If I know I'll need the serial / CD Key I make a record of it.Doesn't everyone keep their codes just in case you might need them, if not the entire box? I thought that was common sense. That's your proof that you have a legit copy of the program.
Problem is that for CoH it wasn't needed to install the game or run it. Until the goalposts were moved.
But as far as I understand it the reps are fairly flexible with it anyway so you don't necessarily need it, as others have said. -

Quote:You've kinda got that now though, you can click "Show Salvage for this recipe" on any listed recipe.I'd like an auto search function, you know like you put a recipe into it and it brings up the salvage automatically.
It'd be nice to have it integrated into a single click though, so if you right-click on a recipe in your Recipes window and have the store window open the option is available. -
Quote:Yes, because the 150 quids worth of subs is solely for this, it's nothing to do with game access or anything like that.So 3 months, 4 accounts, roughly 150 euro for just these packs? No thx.
Rather see account-merges, account-character-transfer or alike then stuff like this.
Account character transfers, which i'd love too, could be tricky in terms of doing it in a way which doesn't encourage Real Money Character selling and the like. -
I use the MA for testing powers. A casino map populated by custom powerless enemies works well for testing. I typically use Minions and an AV/EB class "boss" but you can customise it yourself depending on what you want to measure.

Things I actually want to see in a market revamp :
1) "Vendor this item" button for items put onto the market so you can quickly dump unsold items
2) A History, so you can see what you've looked at before. This should be both a "Back / Forward" type interface and a pane which shows you the last X items you looked at
3) Favourite / Bookmarked items.
4) "View Enhancement" link for recipes taking you to the listing of the crafted enhancement and "View Recipe" link on Crafted enhancements taking you back to the recipe
5) "Place all items onto market" link on Salvage and Recipes, with a tickbox to prevent placing of Salvage used in recipes you have. This is a shortcut for dumping all items (or just items you don't need at the moment) onto the market. You could also add a "for price" textbox so you could throw everything on for a set price
Oh, I'd also be in favour of expiring Sales and Bids after a set time limit (say 30-60 days) -
If I see someone broadcast as "Level 50+1 lft" I know they are level 50 with a +1 level shift.
If I see someone broadcast as "Level 51 lft" I know they are level 50 with a +1 level shift.
I'm not seeing an issue here particularly. I know what they mean either way. -
My plant/emp controller soloed him during the week. Not a tricked out build (a few procs and a fair chunk of frankenslotting), no magic temps. He wasn't that bad really. Hunt down the duplicates as they spawn and kept Fly Trap buffed and healed.
The Honoree / Captain combo were harder and required running away and splitting them. The Minotaur Eb in the last one was tricky too, mostly because he hits hard and dropped Fly Trap on me.
Inspirations are your friend in all of these missions really -
Quote:*small bit of copy and pasta...*Bump back to the first page til we nail down how good (or bad) Trap of the Hunter and Explosive Strike procs are now.
I've done a quick test of the Slow, Positrons Blast and Trap of the Hunter procs now in Carrion Creepers
Posi and the Slow will proc for Vine and Patch attacks, but Trap will only proc for the Patch attacks, not the vines.
In a tight casino test map set to 0x8 no attacks the totals I got were :
102 total proc hits. This is a total and utter "best case" scenario.
Slow Proc : 44
Positrons Blast : 48
Trap of the hunter : 10
You can see the whole spreadsheet of PROCs harvested from the chatlogs here
Since the Trap is pretty meh compared to the others I'll switch it for a knockdown PROC in the next few days and see how it stacks up in the same optimal conditional and update that sheet. -

Deacons advice is spot-on. You don't need soft-capped defenses on a Dark Miasma user, they can typically lower everything to the min ToHit floor anyway.
I'd also add "Avoid Nemesis" although red side you shouldn't come across them much at all. Nemmies aren't nice to Dark Miasma thanks to the fear resistance and the ToHit bonuses they get from Vengie. -
Quote:I dont think this happened on my SS/ brute after he lvl shifted, his KD is still KD. Oh yeah, you can also just raise your dif by one and get more inf.
As far as I remember with Focus (and anything with 0.67 knockback) they have to be -2 to you for KB to start kicking in. I remember my Claws/WP scrapper used to get really annoyed when I started a mission and then realised it was a few levels out of date and I'd be doing a lot of minion chasing in it. -

Quote:I'm still trying to find the quote that shows that the Well is the actual source of all super powers.
Is it really the Well itself that's sentient, or something in the Well?
So you're saying the source of all super-powers, the fueller of Tyrants insane rampage across multiple dimesions is Little Timmy O'Toole?
Only one man can save us now (although he's probably already been turned into a Devoured by the Hamidon). -

Quote:Why do I feel like force-fielding a Singularity would cause an implosion? xD
Also, I need help. I want to make a Gravity character. I have tried both sides of the game, red & blue. I can't seem to make it work. Can anyone recommend a good combo for me, something that'll feel strong?
Hell, I'll take suggestions for a dominator.
Grav has... issues... as a Dominator. It's one advantage, decent single target damage early on, is totally wasted on Domis, their secondary completely outperforms it.
On a Controller I like Grav/Trick Arrow myself.
