    Thanks for the feedback.

You can be a male Fort / Widow too. Looks slightly odd in the Arachnos Fort/Widow armour to start but once you hit level 10 you get a second cossie slot which you can make as you see fit.

Currently i'm trying him out as a KM/Fire scrapper. I like it so far, but I'm not sure how well Fire fits the psionic armor idea, especially considering its lack of psi def/res. Dark would be a great choice for the psi defense, but again I'm not sure how well it fits visually as a substitute for psi-armor.

So my question is, which pair of power sets do you think would most closely represent a melee focused, psychic combatant with psi-armor?

A Melee Fort is one answer. Mine uses a Body Combat Atomic Aura coloured pink to simulate a psionic field. She mixes Claw attacks and things like Dominate to give the impression of a psionic meleer. Downside is being stuck with the Arachnos look and feel for 10 levels and waiting 24 to respec into the proper Fort moves.

If it has to be a Scrapper then Willpower with an added suitable Cossie Aura might work too. As for the primary I'm not as sure. KM is a good match alright. Dual Blades with coloured Vanguard blades might work too?

Maybe. Certainly it's an advantage for my former Eu account where I may be able to use the t rewards it should have accrued to buy "enough" on it so I can let my main sub lapse for a bit.

Thing is, a lot of times you can be just out of range of the power and miss the benefit, but then these powers always seem to have long activation FX and animations, and it looks like you should be able to just run towards the caster and still get the benefit. For example, Barrier: when it's used, it throws up a big bubble and you, having experience with Dispersion Bubble, say "Hey! If I go in that bubble, I'll get defense!"* But no, by the time that bubble appears you've long since missed the chance to get buffed.

But then I thought, why couldn't the powers work like that? Instead of having the buff originate from the caster, have the caster summon an invisible pseudopet that emanates the buff constantly for the same duration as the activation time. Stick an "effect does not stack from same caster" flag on the powers and now they're much more lenient about where you need to be to get the benefit.

*Yes, I know in practice the powers don't usually last long enough for you to see them happening without you and consciously decide to move into range. Usually.
That'd mean you'd have to stay within the AOE to continue to get the buff. I'm not sure Masterminds with Melee pets (ie all of them nowadays until that bug is fixed) would appreciate the need to keep their pets close in order to maintain their WoP buff.

My Plant/Emp wouldn't really like to have to stay close to everyone in order to maintain their buff either.
  5. Not as good as City Life's RageQuitBanplosion : 6/10
  6. I've played both in standard PvE play, sometimes solo, sometimes teaming and occasionally AE Powerlevelling and they both seemed much of a muchness.

If your considering rerolling because Brute Claws is far better than scrapper claws then don't, it isn't noticably. If you're considering rerolling because of the secondary that may be a different kettle of fish, Elec is better as a Brute secondary, as is Fire.

If somebody is on, or at, nearly full health then I am better served assisting in the defeat of the remaining enemies.

My Plant/Emp has been told to "just heal" on a car-crash PuG before. My response is usually to quietly allow them to die in order to fire off a power-boosted Vengeance and then rez and buff them. That usually sorts out any survivability issues we were having...

I do Fort and AB them afterwards as an unspoken thank you for selflessly & silently taking one for the team though.

(In my case it's a Stone/Fire where the Blazing Aura ToHit checks don't make a difference for me, stuff stays stunned/held/getting up regardless)

Just like Arena terminals are there.

These points were all mentioned plenty of times when the AE was in beta, as was the excessive number of AE buildings. Unfortunately Posi and the other devs thought they knew best.

To paraphrase : Positron was wrong.
  11. Byrophyta : T3 Alpha, T2 Interface, T1 Judgement and nothing of the other 2
Golden Shrike : Alpha unlocked but unslotted.
  12. My current main account will be flip-flopping between VIP and Premium depending on what I'm doing.

My former main account, the EU one, will be Premium and because I was subscribed to it for so long will have access to the Controller, MM and WS characters which is nice.

    So pretty much this :

In fact, they made a cottage rule change on Blaster's Dark Blast. The current Dark Blast on Corr/Defender don't have Aim but in order for Dark Blast to fit Blaster's need, they made two major changes. One is to add Aim and one is to combine aoe knockback with nightfall. They could have just ported the exact same version of Dark Blast to Blaster and hear them complain. :P Why should Dominator not complain about certain powers in certain set that just doesn't make sense. Propel is one of them.
Cottage Rule only applies in terms of affecting existing characters. There are no existing Dark Blasters so when Proliferating the set there's no Cottage Rule violation if you change the powers around a bit. Je Saist gave a good rule of thumb elsewhere, if the change means characters slottings become invalid or ineffective then it's probably violating the cottage rule.

Mind you I kinda agree that the Cottage Rule should just be a strong guideline and if a power needs to be changed in order to bring a set up to par then it should be broken.

You could add a small AOE effect to Propel (and/or Lift) and just leave the enhancement sets they can take alone, Lightning Storm already does this.

You could improve Wormhole easily without violating it.

Dimension Shift is the tricky one, but it is also one power which, thanks to its nature and the sets / enhancements it can take (or lack thereof) you could more easily get away with breaking or severely bending the cottage rule for.

And you can still get and maintain decent Fury even when they are mezzed thanks to your own attacks, my Stone/Fire Brute has no Fury issues whatsoever despite enemies spending a lot of their time staggering around or picking themselves off the ground.
  15. My list is as it was before i21 was announced, Traps and Dark for Controllers, Illusion for Domis, Spines and Ice Melee for Brutes.

    Nuke + Heat Loss

Each HL buff aura gives you 50 recovery unslotted, 95 slotted up. So the break even point is around 9-10 enemies hit in order to beat the -1000 a nuke crash caused once you have it slotted up.

If you have numeric stacking on your Status bar below your XP meter you'll be able to see how many HL buffs you've managed to garner on yourself.

For me I took a break between Books 2 and 3 and read something else. The remaining books tend to be a lot more "dense" than GoT. So it might not be a bad idea to mix something else in there that will hopefully avoid burnout.

I've just read the first 2 in a week and a half, so this is my plan now, at least so I can get to bed before 1:30 and get some sleep. I need a few weeks off (but will probably end up weakening as I pass a bookshop on my way home).

I started reading when I was about 7 episodes in and being able to visualize the characters saying the lines is a great help, especially when you're faced with so many of them.

Opera has been my main browser since V5 or 6. Chrome and Firefox are my fallbacks and IE is the dirty thing I have to test with at the end because end-users are silly (I still have to allow for IE6 for heavens sakes).

I didn't. I removed some of the utility/control powers, not the blapper ones. Domi sets always have at least 2 ranged attacks and they are usually pulled from Blast sets, not Blaster secondaries. You can use them point-blank as well, so they don't really interfere with a Blapper playstyle.

I suggested and then removed Moonbeam because although it fits Domi sets it isn't blapper friendly at all.

Fearsome Stare still sticks out in that version, I don't think any other domi Assault Set has a pure control power like that in it. I think that Nightfall is a better match for the cone power (although personally I'd love to see it with a range and cone similiar to Fling Thorns to again make it more melee friendly)

Given how Earth Assault was made (giving it Power Boost instead of Earths Embrace) I'm not sure Siphon Life would make it as-is either (hence my Regen version rather than the Healing version).

Crystal City? Is it as I image it? (I'm guessing not)

Nope, just teleported myself there via the medium of Google Maps, it isn't a giant citadel of glowing white crystal at all.

So I'm guessing that Pentagon City isn't populated by a race of sentient 5 sided shapes either?

    Worst names ever!

The bit in bold highlights why WoC doesn't play too well with AA, AA will make things run away, right out of your WoCs tiny area of effect.
