    Same place there has been one for several issues now...The Shard and Grandville.

    Issue 18 upped the travel speed for just sprint. And praetoria isn't THAT big. There are trains going between all zones and many of the critters in the zones are yellow-con, meaning they won't attack you if you leave them alone. Between that, and (probably) the majority of the players with ninja run after level 4, older vets having travel powers unlock at level 6, others having the assemble the team or recall friend powers...there really isn't a need for jetpacks in there.

    If I remember right, the pre-patch was around 600-700 MB. Not sure how much of that replaces existing stuff vs is new stuff, but I'd image quite a bit of it is new since the new zones are there.

    Also, if you've played and logged off in the last week you may have already downloaded it.

    Good question. I've got a 750 watt power supply and there's a decent amount of airflow and a good processor cooling fan on it. To be honest, hardware isn't my strong point.
  4. I just updated my video card in anticipation for Going Rogue and to fully use the ultra mode settings. Was wondering what other people have experienced as their framerates in the game. Its better with the new card, but not quite what I was expecting from the upgrade and wondering if maybe there's something wrong.

    Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz
    4 GB RAM
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64
    nVidia GTX 480 1.5 GB GDDR5 RAM

    I'm getting 20-30 out in the main maps and 40-60 in the indoor missions. Is this what everyone else is experiencing?

    Most, if not all, day job rewards have an upper limit at least per logout anyways. Think after a month long logout, you stop accumulating credit on the power.

I've used the Gimp a fair bit, and it's UI is fairly similar to Photoshop (in the most primitive, crappiest sense of the word), but it's pretty feature packed for something free (and Free).
    Paint.NET is GREAT. Use it all the time for basic stuff at work and for home stuff. Used to use photoshop and indesign to put together magazines and paint.net is very very similar in how it works. Its basically free photoshop light and its regularly maintained and updated as well. Whenever I have to restage a machine, its one of the first things I always download back onto a machine just because its so useful. You get layers, effects, adjustments. For what you said about just wanting to crop, resize, and brightness/contrast adjustments, it will do all of that and more easily.

    For batch resizing, I have a different program that is specifically for it that works very well. Can't think of the name of it off the top of my head. Will update when I get home, but batch resizing is about the only thing Paint.Net doesn't do well.

Doce has recently regained knowledge of the betrayal and has been resurrected and is now helping Ocho weed out the rest.
  8. I personally haven't priced out newer computers for a while, however the big concern with the pricepoint with Ultra Mode at Max Settings. Personally have a GeForce 250 GTS and I will run on max settings, just with an abismal framerate (like single digits, especially in the Rogue Isles Mercy Island). I've found that if you take off the new shadows (which unfortunatly was what I liked the most, but are I think the most resource demanding part of the new system) the framerate will get up to about 30ish or so on my system in most places. To get a newer card, that was better at this stuff, I think I was looking at a couple hundred dollars.

    The rest of my system is 4 GB RAM, Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 GHz, Raptor HD. No slouch of a system. It played the game at 40-60 FPS before ultra mode 90% of the time.

    Basically, my point would be to not skimp on the graphics card.

  10. To the OP, I see this is your first post, so I'll try and be polite, however this suggestion has been suggested MANY times before over the game's history and shot down by developers and many players as a bad idea each time, which is why there are some frustrating and what some could say rude responces. Not directed at you, but the idea that some of them are tired of answering (please don't run hiding from the forums because of some of the reactions you've gotten from this post).

    While there is content for the end game, and it sounds as though more is coming with issue 19, this game is about the whole journey from level 1 to level 50. Allowing a player to switch any character at any time to any AT and/or power set would lead to many of these players only having a fraction of the number of characters they have now, all at level 50, and when you wanted something different, you would just do an overhaul respec. The game would lose money from many people who now purchase additional slots because suddenly its not needed to have multiple alts. Not to mention, while there's plenty (in my opinion, still haven't hit all of it in 3 years playing) of content at level 50, it wouldn't be long before you would have played it all, but left a ton of earlier content not played.

    Yes I agree at some points even I have wished that I had rolled a toon as a different powerset after getting to around level 20, but understand there is a very good reason that you can't do that. One of the great things about this game is that there are tons of players at every level of experience playing the game and nearly any character level you're playing at because people are playing new alts and building new characters constantly. At almost any time a new player can join the game for the first time, with their first toon, and likely team up with one or many 6 year long players on their 1000th toon and more than willing to help teach the newbie and show them what's fun, which makes this game very inviting. Making it so they can change a character to anything they want at any time would eliminate much of that. Everyone would stick to their level 50s, then switching the AT/power sets when the new FOTM or new sets came out, never going through the process of learning to play the new characters. Sure, some people still would, but many wouldn't, which would lead to much smaller population especially at lower levels, making it less appealing to newer players.
  11. Not sure if lucky is the term I'd use since they are the least effective enhancements, but I don't think they are supposed to happen. I thought TOs stopped dropping shortly after DOs because relevant (around level 15-20) but I don't pay too much attention to all of that since I use mostly IOs and just sell my enhancement drops. 99% certain that they should stop dropping and gone by level 40. Honestly I would recommend bugging it. Sounds like a problem with some changes to the drop system's random generator.
  12. I believe it has to do with the percentage of the bad guys that are left, not just the last one. I forget what the exact number is but at like only 5 or 10% of the bad guys remaining they should start showing up on the map.

    I have seen this working, however I've also seen it do some weird things like putting some ???? marker at some seemingly random point in the maps at some point, but it was after the mission completed.

    There is always a chance there is a bug in there, especially since its a new feature, but has worked for me before.

    That's what I found too. Turning off the real-time shadows (which unfortunatly seems to make the most realism difference) made a big difference and seemed to be the bottleneck for my system between choppy playable and playable. Was getting around 40-60 fps before ultra mode, with ambient occlution and water reflections, about 20-30 fps so far...which only makes me want a new video card cause I liked the shadows.
  14. I've seen lots of stuff about keyboards not responding due to ATI graphics cards, but nothing about this yet.

    Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, 4 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce GTS 250 graphics card, wireless Logitech MX Revolution mouse.

    I didn't notice this on test, however I didn't play too heavily before the live release. Once the game starts, my mouse's responsiveness becomes very sparatic. It'll respond for a few seconds, then stop for a few at random. It seems to be the worst on the login and character creation screen, but still happens when playing. Keyboard response is fine for me (Logitech Corded Wave Keyboard) but the mouse issue is very frustrating. I stop the game, the mouse works perfectly with everything else in the computer. If the game is on, it I gets weird even on other open programs if I alt-tab to a web browser or MIDs. I seem to have noticed a little better behavior without the new shadow tech on, but not by much.

    Any suggestions?

    TY!
    Besides the new animated tails (under the lower body section) and new dual pistol options, there aren't any new pieces that I'm aware of. Some of the metalic pieces they updated to reflect using the new ultra mode tech. Stuff like tech sleak, metalic, valkyrie, cyborg, etc. Those sets are listed in the patch notes.

    Though I could be wrong, but haven't seen any other info on new pieces.
  16. Main questions that pop into my head:

    Do villainous Kheldians get access to Patron Pools, or are they just SOL since they don't get Epic Pools blue side, or are they gonna start getting access to epics?

    Already asked, but what epic pools go with what currently villainous ATs, and what patron pools go with what currently heroic ATs, or are there going to be all new ones?

    If they are interchangable, my guess is (just off the top of my head, would need to look more deeply as what sets have what so there isn't duplication)
    Brute/VEAT <=> Tanker
    Dominator <=> Blaster?
    Mastermind <=> Controller?
    Corruptor <=> Defender?
    Stalker <=> Scrapper

    Maybe new sets make more sense after a closer look.
  17. Fairly common issue that the vet rewards don't reward at the right time. Been doing it for a while now. Just petition or send a bug report, and they are usually pretty quick to respond and fix it for ya.
  18. Not being able to exactly match the custom color combos to the default colors is most likely because many of the powers use many more than 2 colors. Since we're limited to only 2 colors for customization, then if there are any other colors in there (electricity probably has some blue, white, indigo/purple, etc all mixed in there, and red, white, black, etc for the red side) won't be able to mix exactly.

    Does the quote above mean people will not get full rewards (tickets OR exp)?

    If so, I find it very unfair. I don't set up arcs to farm, I set them up to be epic stories, and if this is the case it's like that 8th time they've broken my arcs...which means I'm sick of trying to bring them up to standards.

    It would be enough to say I'm done with MA/AE...and that is one of the few things keeping me in the game right now.
    Standards to get FULL rewards. The arc still works. The story can still be the same. Nothing is broken for what you are creating the arc for, as you claim, the story, which is also what the AE was meant for. The only thing that changed is you don't get full rewards because of the new rule that more NPC allies mean less rewards.

    Not saying it doesn't suck that you won't get full rewards. Blame the players that exploited this with dozens of buff-bots per mission for that change, or blame the developers for not seeing this as a possibility when they let you start telling your story. But nothing has changed about what stories you can and can't tell.

    People keep assuming that there is and only will be one test server for all of beta. Especially with so many big betas going on close together, how do you know they aren't going to setup yet another separate server that requires a different client for Going Rogue beta testings, at least for the initial beta testing before issue 17 is out of the way? That way they can keep the currently, common test server available for any other testing and patches going out for issue 17 as needed, and have a completely different environment for Going Rogue.

    And not even everyone else will get it. Only people who buy Going Rogue get access to use Demon Summoning and Dual Pistols. Pre-purchasing people just get it as soon as it hits live instead of waiting until July or whenever Going Rogue actually comes out.
  22. Either there is something that needs more than one server to test (in game email system upgrades sounds likely there) or they are expecting a larger than normal beta soon (Ultra Mode, Going Rogue). Going Rogue will likely have a fairly large beta group from the 60+ month vets, Hero-con attendees, and the loyalty program people.

    Patch notes??

    Though usually they say that there are no public patch notes in these cases, sometimes they don't put out the details publicly on the forums. It could also be that they are on their way and you just have to be patient.
