Most alts I've created in 2010 were under the assumption this would happen. It makes a big difference for brutes, at least for me - access to conserve power will make lots of endurance heavy builds much more fun to play solo.
Stalker/Brute with Pyre Mastery? Yes please. (I don't see Stalkers having the Scrapper Epics just so they can't have access to two sets of Caltrops)
Controller with Water Spout? Yes please.
Until we know what ATs get what new Epic/Patron Pools, there's not much Mids can do at this point without fear of being erroneous.
I can't imagine all the possibilities this opens up though... scrappers and tanks summoning pets!

What bothers me about this is what happens when they change a power and have to give out a respec? Presumably you can change back to proper faction to get the correct selection of ancillary power pools, but in the same chat it was said that moving one degree takes approximately one week of work.
Definitely smells like this is going to (have to) be hammered out in beta.

I am curious what VEATS new EPP/APP will be when they respec heroside...Frozen Armor on a Fort/Widow stacked with Foresight for 20% elusivity would be interesting in PVP (although that doesn't add up to much of a difference from what I've read in some of the defense threads...) Or maybe hibernate for VEATS? I don't know what their hero equivalent APP would be.

Ah so when a Vill goes to Hero land and does a respec we are guessing that the Vill will have a set of epic powers to choose from that are different than what heroes can choose from? Brutes might get a mix from Epic sets avail to Tanks and/or Scrappers etc...
So some new possibilities but I wonder how much testing has been done. That is a lot of new combinations to test.
I feel that it's safe to say, thanks to a lack of a dead straight answer that brutes, for example, will NOT be getting access to the existing scrapper or tank APP.
Instead, a new hero brute APP will be created.
Whether this means brutes will have access to CP or PP remains to be seen.
It also means that you can start utilizing your dual builds more. 1 build that you don't respec after swapping sides to keep your existing pool, and another that utilizes the new pool.
IantheM1 raises a valid concern, however. If I swap sides and never take the new pool, and then a power in that pool gets changed, I have to spend 3 weeks (thanks to the not-so-wonderful decision of a cooldown period) before I can change my build or I get stuck with a new pool that may not suit my build.

I used to think straight port, like brutes to scrappers, dom to controllers, ect. but it was brought up that with the amount of time they've had on this, they will probably make new patron power pools for hero AT and new epics for villain ATs
/gignore @username is the best feature of this game. It's also probably the least used feature.

Main questions that pop into my head:
Do villainous Kheldians get access to Patron Pools, or are they just SOL since they don't get Epic Pools blue side, or are they gonna start getting access to epics?
Already asked, but what epic pools go with what currently villainous ATs, and what patron pools go with what currently heroic ATs, or are there going to be all new ones?
If they are interchangable, my guess is (just off the top of my head, would need to look more deeply as what sets have what so there isn't duplication)
Brute/VEAT <=> Tanker
Dominator <=> Blaster?
Mastermind <=> Controller?
Corruptor <=> Defender?
Stalker <=> Scrapper
Maybe new sets make more sense after a closer look.

As for straight ports, which isn't going to happy, stalkers and blasters have more in common than stalkers and scrappers. And masterminds were supposed to be the "tanks" redside while brutes were the counter to scrappers.
Of course, it didn't work out that way in the end. Which is yet another reason we won't see straight APP_PPP ports.

In any case, there's no direct equivalence to be had. I would expect new APPs and PPPs for the ATs that didn't have them before.
This also means that if I want to respec my Vigilante-bound Brute, I'd better do it before I lose access to Mu Mastery...

I think is this going to spawn a whole new age of hero/villian designing. Let the games begin!
Is there a way to do this now in Mids?
Does this change open up a whole new range of possibilities or will the change be negligible?
