Fixes found in the sticky thread above don't work.

Hey all,
A little help needed here. As noted in the post title I have a 10.6.8 system running on a Mac Book Pro 2.3 i5 with 4 GB of Memory.
More than once now after an update has run the game client will not launch. The first time I reinstalled the entire game... Sigh - not a quick process. Game worked fine after that.
That is until now and the next update. I get the following message after downloading the update patch.
"/Application/City of Heroes.app/PS/CityOfHeroes_Main2060.2011......../PatchManifest.xml could not be loaded!"
Attempting a repair through the new launcher, which I just downloaded, does not resolve the problem. That just gets a new error message:
"Application/City of Heroes.app/PS/.........._Repair/PatchManifest.xml could not be loaded!"
Next steps? Does anyone know what the permissions should be set to? Could this be the problem? Reset ACLs? Give up on CoH?
Of course all this is done with intermittent CoH crashes... -
Wait what? Under a rock apparently but what? No GC?

In a recent thread posted in the Tanker forums I was trying to get some feed back on the redesign of my Shield / Energy Tank. Previously I was under the impression that Total Focus was not a wise choice when it came to damage output despite its ability to hit hard and I removed it from my build. Now in the more recent thread I was told to put it back in, w/o much of any explanation. Below is a link to the other thread and a quote of what my current dilemma is, but asked more generally -When looking at damage output should I be looking at Per Second, Per Activation or Per Animation Second?

Energy Transfer is NOT an issue with a well built tank - even soloing an AV it has not been an issue for me.
The issue now, I guess is should I rework my build to include Total Focus and drop something like Energy Punch. Would this actually improve my Damage Per Second? Right I did go over by a bit - didn't realize I would only need ~.4% so I can work that a bit and see if there are some better buff to be found. I left Total Focus off because of a prior discussion I had about a year ago that left me with the impression that Total Focus is not the DPS King but rather Per Activation and that its DPS was actually quite low due to its very long cast time and very long recharge time.

Ah well that being said - he is already a 50 - has solo'ed a couple of AVs and is pretty fun to run - Energy could be a bit better on damage how ever.
So any thoughts on the build? And by that I mean any thoughts that might make it better? -
The only level 50 tank I run - thoughts? I have a lot of room to play with when it comes to slotting the attack powers and still stay comfortably over the soft caps - how should I best slot them. I have some slotted with alts.

LOL well I won't be trying to crash and cash in on a market - I have managed to tie up a market or two in the past but they always have a way of suddenly shifting on me...
They are randomly spread out and the most I have on any one toon is 800ish.
Random rolls huh? Better than buying some that I know sell for a certain higher value - like LOTGs Miracles Numina's etc? -
So I come seeking the market gods advice. I started counting up the Merits I have on my various toons and realized and I have more than a few. I bought a few LOTG 7.5% recipes so I am down off my high but I still have this pile of 2700 or so spread out on half a dozen toons. What The Flip should I do with them? Obviously I have just been saving them up for a rainy day but apparently I have not felt desperate enough to use them in mass. Too bad you cant buy Purples or PvP IOs with them as that is what I seem to be looking at these days...
Thoughts? What is the best, most efficient way to utilize them? -
I have posted before about this build and gotten a little feed back. Now she is level 50 and I am trying to decide between two builds which are several billion inf different but perhaps not worth several billion in performance if the latter does not meet my goals.
The goal here is to solo the ITF w/o incarnate powers and hopefully no temps. Both builds are hover blasters and capped on ranged def. The second build focuses on recharge more and uses 2 additional purple sets as well as the Glad +3% def and two def/end HOs. This is where all the extra costs come in. I have enough cash to make it happen and not go broke but it would do some serious damage to my cash holdings.

Ok so I am trying to rebuild a bunch of toons to reflect all the changes made in the last year or so. Here I am looking at my Fire/Rad. She is intended to solo kill the hard things - i.e. GMs and maybe solo some TFs. In her current form she has already solo'ed some GMs and lots of AVs.
I am going to post two possible builds please share your thoughts and feel free to rip either of the builds apart to make it better. One of the things I am having the hardest time with is the choice of Epic Set...

Hey all,
I am rebuilding a some toons to take into account inherent Stamina and Healing as well as the more recent changes. On a few of them I have the choice of building for S/L defense or ranged. Ranged seems to create tighter builds but I feel like it is worth the effort.
Which makes for a more durable toon - soft capped S/L or Ranged Defense? Opinions and reasons? -
So, what about this build? More tweaks?

Thanks for the suggestion. I see what you mean about the ITF. I could solo it with any number of my toons then if done that way then. My two man team didn't use any pulls. So what would be the current yard stick for doing something special, I can solo AVs and GMs with some of my toons but I have not solo'ed a TF of any sort yet.

I have a lot of toons at level 50 but I don't think I have that special toon yet - you know - a solo the ITF type of toon. I have one that can almost solo the ITF but she needs a friend for the last AV. So, could this be it? I don't have a good handle on making blasters so I could use some help from the blaster community to help finish this off or call it off before I spend the billions.

Great guide to Shield Defense. Perhaps a short section on Energy Melee?
Also if you run across sample builds for the other attack types you could link to them as examples.
I have a SD/Erg tank, FA/SD scrapper and an Elec/Shield brute all at level 50 and can attest to the strength of all of them. My fire scrapper has solo'ed many AVs and is probably a middle class build.

Nope - not that I can tell. Maybe a couple hundred million but not even sure about that. One of my other toons was logged in as well but I don't think anything was done with that toon except maybe play it.

Depends on what you are going for - this build has a little less recharge but Shield Charge hits like a truck with a better damage proc, more damage, better recharge and accuracy, Fire Sword Circle is improved marginally and you are soft capped at all positions. The final 5% def is worth as much as the first 40% so even though AOE is not as important as the others it is greatly improved in this build.
