Questions revolving around the loss of Galaxy City as a zone

Haven't been able to come up any answers about the new tutorial. .

What would happen to characters logged out in Outbreak or Galaxy @ live ?

Presumably, the explo badges would cease to exist physically, but what of the already earned titles ?
Also presumably, the associated beacon will simply cease to operate and could just be cashed in..

Will all of the contacts in Galaxy relocate ( presumably at least Shadowstar would have to, maybe Jack Wolfe too )
If so, easy enough, just track them down again. . If not, what if a character has a current mission chain with one of those contacts ?

Will the arena get a new low-level zone home ?

Will the history plaques get relocated
Again, if so, easy enough, just track them down..
If not, some wouldn't exactly make sense if they relocated since they relate specifically to their current physical location, but then how does that affect history badge sets ?

So, just curious and figured I'd throw those out there

A mirror image of Galaxy City pre disaster will be preserved in Ouroboros. All badges and plaques will be able to be obtained there. No badges or titles will be lost.

I think contacts will be moved, but no longer offer missions. Simply relocated for nostalgia's sake. Current missions still in people's queue may have to be dropped and most probably won't be continued.

People who log out in either zone will probably get the same treatment as characters logged out in Old Faultline, and the Rikti Combat Zone. In other words, auto ported to the steps in Atlas Park.

I suppose it's possible the SG beacon may transit people to the Ouroboros mirror, but I doubt it.

Since the addition of the /ai command, actual physical locations for arenas have become superfluous. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a new one in Atlas just because.

Personally, I like to log out my lowbies in the Galaxy arena for the day job.
So, it would be nice to have an arena in Atlas or KR at least.

As for the SG beacon, I've yet to see an official answer on that.
(Doesn't mean it doesn't exist... I just haven't seen it, if it does.)

In i21 Galaxy City will be hit by meteorites and will be come the new combined training zone. Heroes and Villains ATs will no longer go through Outbreak/Breakout zones. At the end of the tutorial you will be able to decide if you want your toon to go blue or red side.

Here's the link to an official announcement: Galaxy's last Stand

Wait, I knew that this would be the new tutorial, but I hadn't heard that they would be outright removing Outbreak and Breakout.

No, I don't like that at all. Let me choose.

Sorry. Nope. New character creation process, and new tutorial. Pick any basic AT, play the tutorial and choose a side. Old tired, outdated tutorials gone the way of the dodo.

I sure hope I can still choose not to do the tutorial. Just drop me off in Atlas park. I don't need to rehash the rest of it.

So much for "Freedom". Ugh.

It actually kinda makes more sense to only have one tutorial and you actually get more Freedom in that you can start any AT on either side now.

The only problem I have with it is that the "other superhero game" tutorial keeps poping into my head everytime they talk about destroying Galaxy during the tutorial. Aliens, lots of rubble,.....

If I wanted to play that other game I would. Hopefully they have original enough storelines in the new Galaxy arcs that I won't think about that other stomach turning abomination of a game.

The Other Game has lots more things wrong with it than its stories (I assume, I couldn't never play it long enough to get into any of the stories).

Very true.

On another note, I always thought it odd that we had 2 starting zones anyway. There didn't seem to be much reason for it other than just a little more variety. I'm mean Babs, Jack Wolfe, and the others could have been very easily put into Atlas and/or Kings Row. Galaxy always seemed like an afterthough to me.

it just occurred to me, it sure would be nice if Mercy could get a bit of a revamp along with Atlas. Admittedly, it doesn't need it quite as much as Atlas does, but it would be nice.

(in before "devs hate villains" etc)

Thing is, that Other Game's tutorial takes place in the center of the city...which you see minutes later as a pristine and wholly undamaged area. Yeah, way to have a lasting impact.

In this game, however...Galaxy is GONE. There is no 'MIRACULOUS REBUILDING AND RECOVERY EFFORT MAKES GALAXY LIVABLE IN MINUTES!' ******** going on here.

Makes a nice joke and Take That from our devs. 'Unlike those Chumps over there, our tutorial has an impact on the game world."

Didn't they already say they were doing some revamping to Mercy? It's not suppose to be as extensive as the Atlas one but I'm pretty sure they said they did some changes and an optimization pass.

Kind of hard to buy into your point when our most recent Hero TF destroys a quarter of Skyway, then after the mission dumps you in a perfectly repaired neighborhood like nothing had happened.

To be fair, that's the ONLY thing I don't like about the new Sutter TF. It's got 4.9 stars from me, except for that one niggling little thing.

As others have said, they are revamping Mercy. All we know so far is the starting location has been moved to Mercy City, and Longbow took over Fort Darwin.

The villain breakout from the Zig was cool. I loved that tutorial mission.

Any new villain I always ran it.

The old tutorials will still be accessible (in a fashion) through Ouroboros.

Nope. Just not the same.

Apparently, Longbow has taken over Fort Darwin, and you'll start in the actual city part of the zone now. Some of the new missions will send you to help retake Darwin.

Where on earth is this information coming from? Closed Beta leaks, or Ustream chats?

UStream chats

There's also an actual Atlas Park sewer Trial now, so that mnight invovle Dr. V's goons - like maybe we have to stop them from trying to escape from Galaxy City to Atlas Park to continue their crimes? The retaking of the fort from Longbow could be a similar starter zone event for red side.

I wish this info was getting posted somewhere.

Anyway, hopefully a (second??) Sewer Trial won't involve Dr. V, he's already got two TFs and a story arc. That's enough exposure for him, I think.
