Custom Power Colors

Has anyone made a list of the custom color combinations that most closely resemble the default colors? I'm interested in changing the red villainous electricity on my brute to the heroic blue/purple and I'm OCD enough to want it to match exactly.

Just roll a hero with electirc powers and open the power custimization to see what color it is using. Then use the same one on your brute (if available).

Made it a little less confusing. When I first read your post, I was like, "Umm... it seems to pick random colors, so that won't work...". Then I realized you meant the file that you save.

Looking at the file, that doesn't seem to actually work, as the file with the "Original" setting will actually give you the color coding for something close, but not exactly the same as, the random colors its picked to give you if you drop down to the other options.

First try on electric gave me for "original"

Code:
     Color1 61, 61, 0, 255
    Color2 255, 0, 0, 255
And for the tint-able option I got
Code:
    Color1 89, 56, 0, 255
    Color2 255, 0, 0, 255
For the second try I got
Code:
    Color1 0, 34, 102, 255
    Color2 0, 102, 0, 255
and
Code:
    Color1 0, 45, 89, 255
    Color2 0, 89, 0, 255
For what its worth, the closest I cold get to the hero electric was color1 L8, color2 O6, though you may need to play with it a bit (electric field seemed better with those colors switched around).

So how about if you save a file for your brute, then copy/paste the Hero electric color into the Brute's file, then load it?

While it's not exact, I came pretty close to the hero version of electricity.

Following the Bright Palette color chart, the two colors I used were N-8 for the primary, and L-7 for secondary.

Hope that helps!

I think you missed my point, the "Hero" colors don't save into the costume file and therefore can't be copy/pasted anywhere.

Actually, I didn't even read your post. I meant to have quoted Kheldarn, but I guess I hit reply instead.

Regardless, now that you have clarified that default values don't save in the file, then yeah.. it throws that idea out the window..

I think BaB mentioned soon after i16 came out that we can't copy the default colours using custom colours, not exactly. The best we can do is get close, probably closer with some powers than others. Something about the colour palettes working differently or something. I have no idea where that post would be though.

Not being able to exactly match the custom color combos to the default colors is most likely because many of the powers use many more than 2 colors. Since we're limited to only 2 colors for customization, then if there are any other colors in there (electricity probably has some blue, white, indigo/purple, etc all mixed in there, and red, white, black, etc for the red side) won't be able to mix exactly.

Yeah that sounds right, I think that was what he said.
