-ST Damage, their great in AE damage, but not so great in ST, at least until u get your pets

-of the various SoA, their the hardest to cap in non-ranged defense

-only SoA type w/o built in stealth

-Little if any defense debuff resistance
-vulnerability to knockback( easily fixed by taking that Steadfast IO or acrobatics)

    Ranged Bane?

Redlynne developed a very good build plan at http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=248244 .
What he said, if by ranged bane you mean taking the bane template, and using the rifle attacks, in other words a Huntsman build, it works out very well actually

If you mean using the bane ranged mace attacks, on paper it looks like a good idea, but in practice not so well( and I have tried to make it work)

    SJ and ...???

I went with SJ/EA, I've been busy in RL, and by scrapper isn't anywhere pimped out as I would like.
I tried EA wayback when it first came out with City of Villians, and I wasn't too impressed with it then. I had wanted to try it now that they have did some improvements on the set, and also with a scrapper alt, now that the set has been ported.

I went with SJ since it was a new set, that looked interesting

WP wouldn't be a bad set to pair with SJ, WP is perhaps the most well rounded set out there, but the main reasons why I stayed away from SJ/WP was that it was way too common, and have done WP

As far as how things worked out( currently at 39), EA is much better now than it was, and as someone else mentioned, the stealth aspect works better on scrapper, and the combination has worked out great. w/o pulling my old EA brute out of mothballs, I'd say EA is better for scrappers than for brutes.

SJ, it has beautiful graphics for all of its powers, which is great. In terms of effectivness, I'd describe it the WP of the melee sets, in that it is a set well balanced between ST and AE damage, as well as DPS and Burst Damage. Its not overlly strong in any, but not overlly weak either

And the the two sets, seem to have worked well together.
  4. I'll just through this out there, Ideally you want both, -to hit and defense work great with each other, there is a very good reason why Scorpian Shield is the best epic/Patron toggle for Rads, Darks, and other -to-hit debuffers

I'm far from an expert on Dark Armor, so take this with a grain of salt, but it was my impression that one of the mez auras and the self rez are generally very desirable.
    He's absulutely right here,
Look at this way, if you have Stamina & Physical Perfection 3 slotted already hitting that 95%+ range, the endurance modification will only increase your endurance generation by a portion of the endurance modification amount.

On the other hand, since most likely your not near the 95% endurance reduction on all of your toggles and attacks, the endurance reduction will hit for the full amount,
  6. IMO my main issue is Flash Arrow, its -to-hit is extremely poor compared to the other Debuff/Control sets like Rad, Dark, or Traps.
Unlike Rad, Time, or Dark it doesn't have a heal, and to be honest it wouldn't make sense here
Unlike Time, Storm, Dark,or Traps it doesn't have a +Def/resist anywhere

Its-Percpetion could be compared to either Dark or Storm

In terms of other debuff/control powers it is compariable to those other sets

I would like to see its -to-hit brought to the same level as Hurricane in Storm( another debuff/control set w/o a heal)

Or another alternative, looking at both Katana and Broadsword for inspiration and to make the set more unique, remove the -to-hit, and it a +ranged defense in sort of the same way Katana's Divine Avalanche( and assumes same or slightly better +def)

Another change I would love to see is the Animations. if you look at the melee sets, some of the animations are slightly different when paired with Shield, some more than others. Basically where I am going here is to change Trick Arrow to Trick Munitions, that is able to use select a gun or rifle as an alternative to the Arrow, it cut down on the annoying redraw when paired with those sets, or fit better with someone's concept + the existing weapon animations should be able to adjusted to fit. Heck I would even love to see a Grenade type animation as well, but that would require more animation work.

It really depends on what sets you have, and how much inf you have. I don't know what the current record for achieving perma-dom, but @ 50 you much more slots available, that if you plan right, you can keep perma-dom when you level down, also purple sets are great for this, in that they have some nice set bonuses, and you keep those bonuses when you exemp down, and IMO Dom's have the most flexiability when it comes to purple sets, in that doms as an AT is able to slot any of the purple sets w/o dipping into the epic/ patron sets
  8. On dom's the Immobilizes are much less useful than they are for controllers, using the AE immobilizes is a bit like using taunt on a squishy, combine that with magnitude really isn't an issue with them.
Only possible reasons for picking up immobilize on a dom
-Picking up the AE immobilize to use in conjuction with an AE stun or confuse
-Picking up the ST immbolize to immobilize a PTOD type
-Picking up for set bonuses, since immobilize sets tend to be among the lower cost sets

If needing extra control powers, GI could always be removed for a control power.

excluding the Immobilizes, you have only the ST & AE holds + Wormhole
With Illusion as is, Blind, Decieve, & Flash
  10. What others said,
    formerly
PSW had a wicked fast recharge, combined with nuke level damage, but except for Drain Psyche, everything else was really horrible

    now
While PSW is still the best PBOA available to Dom's, its now where near what it was, but on the other hand, a lot of damage was put in the rest of the set making the set overall more compariable to the other Assault Sets.

So if your Dom was built around spamming PSW, yes it was a nerf
or if your Dom uses any of the other attacks it is a major upgrade, even TK Thrust is viable attack power( if annoying with its knockback)

    Trick Arrow 2.0

Here's just a thought, whatever you may think of TA or weapon sets in general, combining TA with DP, AR, or BR is a clunky proposition, and concept wise even with the other sets, using trick arrows may not fit.

What I am arguing is not any actual changes in the set itself, that is able to chose alternate weapon styles for the set, that is you may be able to to select a Trick Pistol, Trick Rifle, or Trick Beam Rifle animations( or in short Trick Bullet Animations),
  12. while both are related to fairy tales, their very different shows,
Grimm for its part is closer to Supernatural than it is to Once, I liked the premier, but didn't quite wow me, at this point it is under the catagory of being, if I happen to be home, I will watch it, but will not go out of my way to watch

Once, I would compare it more to Tin Man or Alice, or in comes, Fables. At least initially I do plan to watch it as I would True Blood, Doctor Who, or Game of Thrones. It being on network television, does give it the risk suffering the same fate as Heores
  13. My wife and I liked it, and plan to watch it, and lets be honest, its about the closest will see to Fables made into a TV series.

My concern? that it won't turn out like some other series that I liked intially in recent years, that the writters will get lost, and have no idea where to take the story( Heroes was bad in this way, although there have been more recent examples)
  14. the sad part here, is that Poison has been improved, and many of the same problems people have mentioned since it has been ported, was even worse when it was MM only.
Here's what I would like to see,
    1) Its heal converted into a aura heal
    2) its tier 2 & 3 debuffs cones' increased as to hit more foes, or made it into targeted AE debuffs
    3) Poison trap made identical to Traps
    4) its tier 9 made into a location based AE with a decent recharge

You cant always get a Corr to over soft cap, and this combo you can do it(and pretty cheap to cap out and NO purples). The build i have is over 50% defense. This is a good combo, if you dont mind the redraw, and has great defense potential, as well as low end drain.

I also love my toon name Final Seconds
And honestly, the redraw thing isn't unique to BR, its true with any of the ranged weapon sets, but I really don't think time is particulary bad in clicky powers( I imagine both BR/TA or BR/Poison is a whole lot more clicky), it just depends on how sensitive to redraw you are.

I'm enjoying my BR/Time, but the major downsides are this, both sets are slot hungry, and BR biggest strength is its biggest weakness, its a strong ST set, but blah in AE.

Really it comes down to what you want out of your corrupter, or if you have some sort of concept. I think time is a pretty solid set, and it will go well with just about anything not unlike Dark Miasma.
  16. I'd go fire/dark corrupter,
  17. Like others mentioned, it all depends on what you want, and how much you have room for both in terms of power enhancement slots.
Leadership - its not quite defender values, Assault is always nice, Manuevers is only ok if you have the enhancement slots for it AND your working for defense set bonuses, Tactics is good for perception and as a home for some sets( although with the +acc set bonuses and the Acc you can get with sets, I'm not too concerned for the +to-hit outside pvp)

Fighting- good or bad you do need kicking or boxing to unlock Tough or Weave, but see my comments on Manuavers

On my squishy toons I always like getting acrobatics for the hold protection they would not otherwise have( I really wish they would add unique low mez status protection IO's), and getting combat jumping, jumping, and acro is cheap in terms of enhancement slots

Hasten is nice if your working towards + recharge, SS is much more attractive now that you have more options for vertical movement, plus with it and stealth and/or stealth IO = invis

This comes up a couple of times later and then the Seventh Doctor takes it and runs with it. There was heavy implication during that Doctors term that he knew alot more about the founding of the Time Lords and possibly the original ruling Triumvirate then he should. He plays with toys belonging to Omega and Rassilon as if they where his own. They respond to him and obey his orders when he uses them. Much is implied that he may be older and not exactly what he appears to be during that time.

The books do the same thing but who knows which of those are truly cannon and which are not any more the BBC kept changing things. Some of the books make some explicit claims that are likely not true. After all Rule One is that The Doctor LIES. And it is very possible that this entire existence as The Doctor is one of those lies possibly a huge one.

Consider that even the might of the Time Lords was brought against him by the founder of The Time Lords and he defeated them.

    So really Dr. Who?
Agreed, I sugest both Deadly Assassin and Invasion of Time for hints that the Doctor was more than your average Timelord, during the 4th Doctor's time, as well as the 7th Doctor, although there have been hints elsewhere.

The bad side is, we're talking about different production teams and writers

We've never seen another Time Lord near Earth save for rebels(of course i haven't watched all Dr. Who)
There is a law against travelling into Gallifrayan history
The Dalleks like to attack Earth a lot and the Dalleks hate the Time Lords...
In one of the books or audio books, its hinted Gallifrayans at one point spread the seeds of Gallifrayan life across the Universe, so its not that Gallifrayans look a lot like Humans, its that Humans look a lot like Gallifryans as do many other races

Donna I wouldn't call a good example, seeing that Doctor Donna had to be supressed, since the Gallifrayan side was burning her out, you saw something similiar with Rose in the Bad Wolf story line

I still suspect that there was more than being conceived in the TARDIS that made River a TL

A little better definition of rebals might be needed,
Romana was never technically a Renegade Timelord
    Azmael
    K'anpo
At the End of Time, the entire Gallifrayan High Council briefly visited Earth

the Daleks hate and attack everybody, with that said they do hold the Time Lords in special contempt, and humans are on the same list as Thals, you know the list of races who refuse to be Exterminated.

    Um... no.

I think we've been thinking too hard about this, I think she is just who she is, Madame Kovarian.
The reason why I included older Amy, we have diffinite motivation. I'm still not 100% convinced that River is a TL, b/c she was conceived in the TARDIS for a number of reasons. Here's my thought,
-At some point during the Time War it might've occured to some Time Lords there was a possibility they might be defeated( which is why I think the Master wasn't the only hiding under a rock), and might've thought it prudent to something like the episode earlier season. That is hide one or more of their young among species likely to make it through the Time War.
When the Doctor was Regenerating, he was drawn to Amy in part to the fact she was Gallifreyan. And lets face it, older Amy looked pretty good for someone who was pushing 60.
