  1. Anyone else got anything ridiculous they wanna argue about?
  2. Play on Virtue, or any other highly populated server. CCs happen regularly.

And I don't think we need a map dedicated to CCs.
  3. Yeah, alternate animations for super strength or martial arts would be the way to go.
  4. Some of those things you asked for, particularly the hand claws and alternate sound effects, would require a lot more work than you'd think. Hand claws would require going in and re animating every single claws power so that the hand isn't a fist but actually a hand. If that ever gets done, I'm sure the new animations wouldn't be restricted to a booster but instead given to the players in the next batch of new power animations.

The alternate sound effects option is something that hasn't even been touched on at all with this game, meaning they'd have to build the ability to allow players to customize their sound effects from the ground up. Not an easy task by any means and, again, something that would more than likely be given away to the player base if ever done.
  5. We need more zone events, big and small, that help us feel like heroes. With zone glowies, we could easily randomly see trees glowing with cats stuck up them and a civilian under it calling for help. Walk up to the tree, click it, bam. Civilian holds their cat, thanks you, maybe you even get credit towards a badge. A little thing that not only promotes zone activity, but also helps characters feel heroic. Don't even need to stop there. Could have an extra mechanic to stopping fires involving running into an instance in the burning building where you save civilians like in that new hero arc.

Conversely, villains could maybe get, say, zone events where they have to raid a building Longbow might be using as a base. Run in, fight through Longbow waves, then when you get to key areas you plant a bomb. Plant so many bombs, fight a Warden or something, then leave and watch as the building is set ablaze just like in Steel Canyon with their buildings. Something small for them to do is see a particular civilian on the street. Click on them and you mug them for a small amount of inf. Next animation could show the person fall over, then shout things like "I'm being mugged!"

So many things could be done to improve this game and give zones more use than "that big area you go to the mission through." Zone events in Praetoria was an amazing start, as was yellow targeting boxes and outdoor glowies. Now we just need to implement those ideas to blue and redside. The mechanics are already there, barely any new animations would need to be made, this would allow players something fun to do and boost activity, which would boost the game's reputation while getting more people to actually play in the zones. All in all, it's a win situation for everyone.
  6. RAAAAAGE

Seriously, though, I'm a bit bored of Praetoria, and they are stretching this war out too long. I mean, the second Rikti War, which was the sequel to the war that shaped everything in City of Heroes and was one of the largest events within the lore's history, only needed an issue and one new game mechanic.
  7. Honestly, I love all the groups. But a lot of them are just terribly written and utilized. Like, lately, Malta being everywhere despite them supposed to be a secretive group. Same goes for Knives of Artemis. Or Crey, which is supposed to be the biggest and most respected company in Paragon City, even though it has enemy spawns on the streets heckling the common citizen. They should honestly be allies to the heroes on the streets and anywhere the media, PPD, etc. can see them. Then they become enemies in their arcs around the time you discover their horrible plots and corruption.
  8. With that logic, there'd be no customization at all. I've seen characters take dark or fire powersets and turn it into sand. Or using radiation as water. Looked very convincing. You can turn any of the existing powersets into something else entirely with powerset customization. That's the entire point. Taking an existing powerset's graphics and changing them to suit your character. So saying we can't do that same thing with ice is a little ridiculous.

    Thus, dammit BaBs.
  9. I don't think he was suggesting this be implemented, judging by the fact that the first line he said was "Not so much a suggestion as a straw poll".

Honestly, I wouldn't pay for a statue of any of my characters.
  10. Those colors looks fine.

    Dammit BaBs...
  11. If I were an Incarnate, I'd rather fight Rularuu or the Coming Storm.

To be honest, though, I love the Praetorian War storyline going on. At least, before Cole became the Well's champion and turned into Cosmic Cole. The Tin Mage and Apex TFs are awesome. But they're stretching it out way too far for my tastes, and it makes me disappointed that I'm getting sick of it.

    69 Month Milestone: Genuine

really....Really... REALLY? That is ALL we get for 69 months? I mean come on... So, here is my plea to the CoX peeps to make this right.

My Idea for the 69 month reward is........ JET PACKS!

I think as the 69 month reward we should get jet packs as a back option (maybe only unlockable at lvl 20 with capes)

I propose we get the follwing jet packs as a new back option:

    Jump Jet pack
    Gold Bricker's Jet Pack
    Long Bow Jet Pack
    Sky Raiders Jet Pack
and the single engine leap pack you can get from doing the bank missions

and it would be soooooo easy to program in (more or less), since we already have seen them on characters as parts of temp powers so why not make them part of the 69 month reward as costume pieces

of course this should also be retro active to all people who have already achieved the 69 month reward... Come on Devs Do it you know you want to....PLEASE!
    lol no

    Veteran Awards

Because they're strong powers and it would be horribly unbalanced if they didn't cost anything.
  14. I would buy the Mutant Pack in a heart beat if the power always turned you into a monkey.
  15. Eh. Feels like a waste of time and resources, considering there is a "save" feature and the devs constantly tell us how painful redoing the UI could be. But hey, if they ever get spare time and some random guy decides to go for this, like with [walk], I won't complain.

    Unprecendented?

Um. No. Excepting Issue 8 which was mostly filler to bring City of Heroes inline with City of Villains adding Police Band / Safeguards, and the revamped Faultine...

For two years after the CoV expansion, major storyline updates focused on NOTHING but the Arachnos. Leaving people who don't care for that enemy or storyline out in the cold for a very very long time, with no end in sight.

So why don't you dial that self-martyrdom of yours back a couple of levels. So you don't like the Praetorians. Big. Flipping. Deal.

Get over yourself and run any of the other countless story arcs, missions, task forces, that have nothing to do with Praetoria. Or better yet, make your OWN story arcs in Architect Entertainment, and write the content YOU want to play.
    You mad?

If you don't like Praetoria, don't play in it. The rest of us that have been wanting it since Maria Jenkins' arc was put into the game will continue to enjoy it, and expect that the Devs continue down the road they've started down with Going Rogue.

In case you missed it, they did say that they'll continue adding in content for the lower levels all throughout the game, which is exactly what you seem to be wanting.
    Calm down, sir.

You can easily make both of those already. We have plenty of options at the moment.
  19. That link just takes me to the Animal Pack video.
  20. Civilian clothes have already been done. We have t shirts, jeans, varieties of suits, shirts, and shoes. Other niches need way more love than "casual".

Useless as in being perhaps the most relatable member of the gang, due to being the regular guy amongst a team of super-powered child prodigies and, despite this, managing to still face the odds and fearlessly fight on a regular basis? Or being the task manager and leader that kept the group from being just a couple of kids adventuring and being distracted by everything they see? Or finding the Fire Nation's weakness then, with that information, organizing the entire invasion on the Fire Nation Capital, while also inventing both the hot air balloon and the submarine? Or managing to organize a strike on the Fire Lord's fleet of ten-times-more-powerful-than-normal firebender-manned airships, destroying them before they burned the Earth entirely? Or useless as in being the much needed comic relief of the team during their most serious moments, such as the desert or during Aang's earthbending training?
  22. Let's not focus on animals for awhile. There are already a multitude of things that need more coverage than them.

Lusca arriving at Sharkhead Isle and attacking the Ferry there, taking it out of action until some civic-minded villains/rogues decide to encourage him to leave.

Scrapyarders invading IP via commandeering Janus' sub... Scrapyard himself may be a ghost but the Scrapyarders themselves aren't and if enough get to IP they can summon him and go on rampage.

Deathsurge in Terra Volta leeching off the reactor there... if he's there too long some random infrastructure fails, like one WW or a train line or Ferry...
There are storyline reasons making all those things terribly wrong. But I agree, we need more Giant Monsters and Zone Events.
