Favorite Villain Group?

Which villain group do you like the best? Maybe it's the cool costumes, maybe it's just that you get to beat up faux-nazis. Let us know!

For me, I like the Clockwork. Steampunk robots are just cool.

Red Caps. They're just hilarious to watch.

Malta.

I levelled my Claws/SR scrapper from 45 to 50 almost exclusively on Malta - hitting 50 during the final mission of World Wide Red. I find them an absolute blast to fight - a genuinely challenging high level enemy group.

*** Mild Going Rogue spoiler ***

Gregory Vega is awesome. The idea of a lone non-powered agent taking on the Praetorian regime from the inside is just too cool. When he pulls his guns out and makes his comment about having taken down plenty of other costumed superhumans I was totally cheering him on - Go Primal Earth!

After that I made a DP/Elec Blaster called Jane Parallax in respect to him, and of course the Elec will be slotted for maximum end drain, sapper style.

Carnies.

They're fun to fight, and at the same time I kind of feel bad for them. Most of them are girls in their late teens to early 20s who thought they were just going to a party, only to have a mask that subjugates their free will forced onto their face.

And the Strongmen have it worse. The Carnival of Shadows is a female dominated group, so the Strongmen not only lose their free will, but a lot of their intelligence and ability to reason along with it.

And their lives...

I love Freakshow because they genuinely seem to enjoy themselves, even when we beat them up - over and over again.

Rikti and CoT are the groups I enjoy fighting the most.

I think I'd have to go with CoT because I like the ghosts and how they do that scream when defeated. They're also pretty diverse visually - magical guys, glowing-eyed guys in hoods, minotaur-ish demons, ghosts and so on.

Malta, simply because big robots that combine are way more awesome than any other enemy in the game.

Malta. Partly because they're risky to fight, and partly because I love the concept of an enemy led by people who don't present their HP-bag butts to be kicked when you've foiled all their evil plans. Instead, they sic a giant robot at you. Of course now they are starting to present their own butts for the kicking, which makes them a lot less scary conceptually, and leaves me anticipating a mission much like the finale of the Silver Mantis SF: "Kill Gunslingers to draw out Director 8" or some such crap, but old school Malta could have been damn scary if old school game mechanics hadn't gotten in the way.

Not that I'm averse to beating up hordes and hordes of space Nazis from time to time, and by "from time to time" I mean "at every available opportunity."

Clockwork ARE awesome. I love steampunk and they definitely embody it.

I also love killing 5th Column. Nazis. 'Nuff said.

Otherwise my favorite shifts based on the story of the character. Magic origin characters - CoT or Legacy Chain become my favorite *for that character*.

Wait, what? You're the first person I've ever witnessed putting "love" and "Gold Brickers" in one sentence...

I still love Freaks... They're just so gleefully destructive. Like someone else said upthread, they really seem to enjoy doing their thing, even when they know it's going to end up in a pounding. That, and their goof-ball dialogue often makes me grin.

I'm also fond of the Circle of Thorns and pretty much everything in Croatoa. (Yes, even the ghosts-)

Oh, I'd forgotten about those guys, so visually cool! I blame the Christmas even arc and the fun of ice-skating for interest in the Tuatha.

Malta. Just a cool idea and fun to fight.

Freakshow because of the psychotic vibe they give off and their dialogue
Arachnos because of their sheer variety.
Malta because they're challenging and because of their sheer epicness.
Cimerorans-Because their animations are cool.
Rikti because invasion events are epic! They should do something similar with the Praetorians.

Also love the War Walker's death animation and Hamidon's as well.

And of course all my villains love to hate Longbow for obvious reasons.

to TO THE END!

So agreed. Having those portals open up and Praetorians streaming through into Paragon/Rogue Isles would be amazing. Give plenty of opportunities for new badges!

"Does this mean I have to give up my mp3 player?" is my personal favorite.

Freakshow because they're just nuts and loving every minute of it.

Arachnos for the diverse groups and models (Mu, tarantulas, Fortunatas, Windows, etc).

Rikti, again for diversity, the under-the-Mothership map sets, and how they scale up so they're a real threat in the LGTF and Mothership event. I also love the costume redesign they got a few issues back.

5th Column for the old school comicbook joy of face-punching Nazis.

Malta for concept. The whole paramilitary "Superhumans are a threat to the rest of us so let's figure out how to eliminate them" thing just works for me. Plus, they're very good at what they're trying to do.
