Favorite Villain Group?

Honestly, I love all the groups. But a lot of them are just terribly written and utilized. Like, lately, Malta being everywhere despite them supposed to be a secretive group. Same goes for Knives of Artemis. Or Crey, which is supposed to be the biggest and most respected company in Paragon City, even though it has enemy spawns on the streets heckling the common citizen. They should honestly be allies to the heroes on the streets and anywhere the media, PPD, etc. can see them. Then they become enemies in their arcs around the time you discover their horrible plots and corruption.

I like the Praetorians and Arachnos - when there are villains actually ruling a place rather than trying to rule it, the twirl factor can be way higher, so the camp factor also goes way higher

Wonderful ideas!!!! I love the raids and the Praetorians would make excellent raiders.

Carnies, and where the h. is my Carnie task force?!!! We need to go to Fortune's Wheel and lay the smack down, I say.

I think Freaks are pretty cool, but since the xp-nerf and the addition of the Super [?]Stunners, I don't bother with them solo any more. Its not enough that every. last. one. of them has Dull Pain and uses it with extreme prejudice, now we have those new guys and yeah.... I will pass. Not worth the trouble.

Still loves me some Arachnos, even WITH Night Widows.

Vahzilok. I love the Frankenstein/Re-Animator sub-genre of sci-fi. Fighting Dr. Vahzilok in the Vahzilok Wasting Disease story arc is always a highlight.

Tsoo are my favorite group. They are the first enemies you come across that use teamwork and buffs/debuffs, and they seem to have a better AI then most other groups. I really wish they appeared at higher levels.

Now that I think about it, most of my favourites are groups which cause all sorts of trouble, but have the potential for good behind it all. The Scrapyarders and Luddites, of course... the Freaks, who have their different ideological factions, some reformed and thoroughly decent folks... the non-Red Cap Croatoans, too. Though the vast bulk of the Vahz are psychopathic lunatics, their group's structure seems to be very loose indeed, and I get the feeling the Doctor himself means well, and could have done better - and, unlike the Clockwork King, he still feels some responsibility for his actions.

I'm a fan of whooping the Knives of Artemis. I wouldn't be if it weren't for those damn caltrops they LOVE to spam on a character, but there they are, so I get a really strong sense of satisfaction bouncing those girls off the walls.

I've also got a special place in my heart for the Council.

Freakshow.

Who else has the Freak-olympics?

I would love an ancient Egyptian group, hmmmm maybe AE time.

I'm also fond of the Circle of Thorns and pretty much everything in Croatoa. (Yes, even the ghosts-)
Agreed. The first time I used Ice Patch on a Freakshow boss, and it fell flat on its back, was one of the funniest things I had seen in any video game at that point. And I still laugh when they flop around.

Also, can't ever get enough of facepunching Nazis, Tsoo are so varied and have such great names, Carnies have terrific costumes, and I actually like the new Praetorian Clockwork enemies.

The variety of Tsoo bosses is entertaining, and the names really are great. I still run into one every once in awhile that I haven't seen before.

I'm going to echo a lot of the same sentiments people here have towards Malta. They have some good stories (World Wide Red is still one of my favorite arcs...in fact, it's probably number one), they're fun to fight (though having to clean up the gun turrets is awfully tedious), and I just generally enjoy the concept of of them basically just being normal guys...normal guys who will totally mess up your day, Mr. "I fly around and shoot lasers look at me I'm so great". Yeah, well, Eagle Red 1-5-8 has a couple pistols. And guess who's gonna win?

My other favorite group, which I haven't caught any mention of in this topic so far, are the Nictus. I know a lot of people prefer the 5th to the Council, but the machinations surrounding Arakhn, Requiem, and all the others; the alliances, the betrayals, they all manage to be delightfully intriguing. And again, I just sorta like the alien-hybrid thing they've got going on. The game really needs more "hybrid" Nicti. The generic Galaxy soldiers, and the constantly-shifted regular Nictus bosses are too vanilla. It's a shame AE doesn't allow for building using Warshade powers.

Another Freakshow fan here. Not only do they take such joy in their mayhem, but they are just so damn optimistic. You beat them down and they rez, thinking things will be different this time.

(Translation: "Hmmm...this guy just pounded my face into the floor in under 3 seconds. That probably tired him out, I'll bet I can take him now!" *rez*)

Yeah, you know, I'm really glad they've done away with the leet-speak in the newer Freakshow missions. There's even a tip mission where one Freak berates another for forgetting that there used to be a philosophy behind the chaos. I liked them much better when they were disillusioned yuppies gone to the opposite extreme (with the delicious irony of the Crey reveal) than a bunch of cybernetic clowns.

Of course, leet-speak is really hard to read in the middle of combat, so that might also have had something to do with it.

Is it sad that I can read the Freaks' leet speak without any difficulty?

1. Red Caps, because...

Quote:
We've gone and done the greatest crime,
We've captured little Baby Time!
We'll hold him 'till he's old and ill,
To keep the world in winter's chill!

So shiver, witches, in the cold,
And pumpkin-heads will rot with mold!
The human world will freeze and slow,
And people will be filled with woe!

For human time will be like Fey,
Unchanging! Always time to play!,
They'll know that this was Snaptooth's plan,
We'll terrorize the world of man!

We've gone and done the greatest crime,
We've captured little Baby Time!
You'll never save the little year
For Red-Caps are the ones you'll fear!

Snaptooth: "Did I not tell you to STOP RHYMING!"
Rascal: "Sorry, boss!"
...you just gotta love these guys.

2. Trolls... tough as nails Party Animals with a funny speech impediment. OK, they´re dumb as a sack of hammers and aggressive to no end... but in a kinda cute way. They always remind me of the Cookie Monster^^

3. 5th Column, because... well, does anyone here know what the german term "Glatzen Klatschen" means?

1. The Council- Secret conspiracies, Super soldiers,Vampires,Werewolves,Body stealing aliens and Giant robots! What is not to love there, A fun enemy group from level 1 to 50

2. Freakshow- Frustrated yuppies jack themselves up on steroids and stolen military hardware and go beat up people. Part of some of the funniest and most entertaining arcs.

3. Warriors- An unusal choice here but I really love the idea of this group a bunch of bored 20 something take inspiration from Ancient Greece and go and beat the crap out of things oldschool style. I just wish they would show up more.
