  1. Might as well polish that up a bit, and post it in the guide forums KillerShrike. Good work.
  2. Melt Armor is a tremendous waste of time and endurance. I would strongly suggest getting something else, Fire Blast is a fair attack.

    True Grit's best draw is it's +HP, try to slot accordingly.

    The 4th slot in hasten is taking a whopping 2 seconds off the recharge, I would move that slot some where else.

    Grab Against All Odds earlier. You might be telling yourself you will never Exemplar. But you never know.

    Adding Membrane Exposures to Active Defense will increase it's DDR it provides. Since you have a Hamio already in the build, I am going to assume you don't mind using them. With one, you won't have it double stacked, but it will over lap for most of the time.

    The purple set's really don't achieve much better performance with the 6th slot, and so I normally 5 slot a purple set, leaving out the +Dam one, because you are SOO far into ED even without it.

    DB/EA Brute

    You need to add either the data chunk, data link, or both so that people can see your build easily.

    My latest finished project was actually a DB/EA brute, and he is a beast. A few holes, so you do have to pay attention to you defense numbers, and enemies damage type. But all in all, he is a blast to play. Good Single Target damage when fighting AVs, great AoE to clear mobs.

    This is my build to date, exept for the Fury of the Gladiator Proc.

  7. True Santorican. I apologize for my rudeness. Seemed that the OP thought that this was the be all, end all best build (built for war).

    I could not do what I normally do, make bullet points of problems, because there were a lot. (again sorry)

    My first 50, and main toon is a Spine/Regen. (Haven't played him in a long time, besides moving to day jobs) but if I would IO him today, and not use purples, I would choose strait recharge. And allow MoG and Shadow Meld to cover my alpha.

    And over all, I dislike the build, and cannot really find any thing that I like about it besides you grabbed Shadow Meld.

    Looks like all you tried to achieve were +regen and +HP bonuses, the two things regen doesn't need. Your attacks are moderately underslotted for acc, end red, and recharge.
  10. Just a side note Dark Soul. AVs and to a lesser extent EBs resist debuffs. IIRC, they have about an 87% resistance to pretty much every debuff, making your 17.9% debuf something like 9%. It is a major kill in your DPS since it does no damage. (so if you are trying to solo an AV, there is no way you would want to increase the time it takes to kill an AV by 5-10 minutes, just to get that little extra debuff)

    Hey, thought I would see if I could get some help with my build. I really wanted a soft-capped DM/Invuln brute that also had enough recharge to run Smite -> Siphon Life -> Smite -> Midnight Grasp.

    I just feel like I'm too stuck on how I normally IO toons, because I cannot get both into the build. I could really use some fresh eyes on the build, or a new build all together. I feel that it is possible, but I am just not seeing it.

  12. Aid Self to me is a Necessity.

    I REALLY like my EA brute because he has 2 heals (Energy Drain and Aid Self). He just feels tougher than my /SR scrapper (true, the extra HP helps as well) but I just have one extra tool I can use on my EA brute.

    Healing is very important on a defensive toon, if you are going to do anything crazy. Otherwise, you might need to duck behind a corner to regen a bit if you don't have a green.

  16. I am going to be brutally honest. When I saw this build, I asked myself, 'What in the world is he trying to do with this build'. You aren't softcapped to everything, you 4 slotted Health, you 4 slotted Superior Conditioning (you know all it does is grant extra endurance, not recovery right?) You used several Positional Defense sets, when there were perfectly good Typed Defense sets to get. You grabbed Hand Clap ! 3 slotted Conserve Power :O!

    4% away on the negative soft cap, but I run my brute at 38 % and he is just fine. Weakness to Negative is just a hole I live with, and in most of the game, you are perfectly fine, and in teams, there is always some extra defense flying around.

    Kin/EA build.

    If your looking for another power to drop, I would suggest dropping Overload. You are soft capped, and the extra HP on a stalker isn't going to be much, since their HP cap is so low.

    If you ever need the extra defense, pop a purple or something.

    Kin/EA build.

    Few things I noticed...

    - You will want to slot Stamina some. Relying completely on an un-endurance modified Energy Drain won't be fun.

    - 3 recharge IOs in Placate bring it to 19 seconds, 2 brings it to 20 seconds. I would pull one slot out, to slot some where else.

    - You are just barely at the soft cap for Smashing/Lethal. There is a LOT of Lethal -defense attacks out there. I would suggest keeping a Kinetic Dampener Temp, or bump your defense up some more.

    - I cannot stress how helpful Aid Self has been for my EA brute, and while you won't be tanking AVs, I would definitely suggest it.

    - The BotZ bonuses are more geared for Positional (though less than they used to ) I would not suggest taking the slots for it.

    - Do you really want recall friend, or is it just a throw away power because you couldn't think of anything else to get?

    If you look at these notes, and don't think it helps your build, then you can ignore them. =)
  19. Few notes that I would like to mention.

    - I personally feel that body mastery meshed extremely well with Spines. Energy Torrent is a cone, similar to Throw Spines. Also you could pop a FF proc in it for some insta recharge. Of course, I have a Spine/Regen, and the added soft control helped take some of the alpha. ymmv

    - Extra recharge in Practiced Brawler will just make you click it more often. It does not really add extra survivability like /Nin or /SD's mez clickie does. I would suggest 1 recharge, or an end red in it (with an end red, it recharges in 111 seconds, giving you 8 seconds to click it... a little too close if you ask me Taking the seconds slot out of that will give you an extra slow, maybe pop it in Aid Self or Hasten.

    - I always put an Interrupt IO in Aid Self. I tried at one time to not do that, and it got interrupted too often for me, and several times I died, when I knew it wouldn't have interrupted if I had an Interrupt Reduction IO.

    - I like adding the Slow Res IO to bring me to 60% slow res for my SR toons.

    - You could slot the Gift of the Ancients Def and def/run speed IOs in your passives. It will give you a little more recov, and only cost 1% def over all (still over the soft cap) and 1% DDR, but give you 3 extra slots. You can also pop the 5th LotG in Combat Jumping so you don't lose that extra recharge.

    - Slot tough for a bonus of some kind, or use Hami-O's. Might I suggest 3 Titanium Coatings for some additional HP.

    - That extra slot in swift is adding a whopping 2 mph extra. In my book, its not worth it, even if you don't have a travel power.

    - Do you really think a Chance for Hold proc in Impale is going to help a lot? I had that proc in my Spine's Impale, and I would see it occasionally, but most of the time, the mob was dead fast enough, it didn't matter. Also its Mag 2, so it doesn't effect bosses really. I'm not sure how emphatic about having that extra range in Impale (I have never slotted range in it) but my slotting suggestion would be either 3 Devastations, 3 Apoc's for the +HP; or 5 Apoc's and a range IO if you wants the range, and it will give you some recharge too.

    - I prefer Stimulate over Aid Other. Personal preference, but I have actually used Stimulate in several situations. People use a wakie but they don't have a Break Free? It's ok, I can kill that stun for you =). Also I pop it on the emp if they get stunned on occasion. It's more helpful than the heal IMO.

    So with that lengthy reply, here is the modified build with most of my suggestions (baring the body mastery)

  20. I bet Energy Aura will be ported before /Nin. Less work involved .... and I would rather have an EA scrapper than a Nin scrapper :P
  21. I think I figured out why I don't like it.

    Fly and the attacks seem a little underslotted =) but if you can live with fly. Then go for it. Also I dislike that Gloom is slotted for -To Hit, seems a shame for such a good attack... kinda like slotting holds in KO blow.

    Post was posted before KM was completely 'unvieled'. ie power descriptions and such.

    Assault is not worth the endurance it uses for brutes.
    The difference between 0% and 100% +damage is greater than the diference between 200% and 300% +damage.
    Also, because brutes don't crit, they don't get the auto recharge of Power Siphon like Stalkers and Scrappers get.
  23. I dislike it. I can't quite put my finger on why, I just don't like the way the build looks. *shrug*
  24. I just slotted 3 Acc/Mez Ectoplasm Hamios into Sonic Cages, and it did not increase the Magnitude, just the duration. So its still mag 7.45, but instead of 30 seconds, its 58 seconds.
