SS/EA brute or wait and make a KM/EA
My advice is to replace the word "or" in your subject line with "and".

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
KM actually looks kinda crappy for brutes. The animations are incredibly long, and brutes benefit the least from +dam effects.

Just noticed this post and I'd like to add a couple points. First is that QS and/or BB are fast enough, in my book, to use for the damage buff attacks. The KM set does have some very long animation but the damage bonus should mitigate the length of time. A couple things I've noticed on this combination are:
After reading Twilight Snows guide to EA brutes I have been inspired to make my next Brute EA. However what primary to take SS/EA looks nice as does DM/EA or with GR round the corner do I wait and role a Kinetic/EA brute as from the small footage I have seen looks to have good synergy with EA.
So what does the forum think? Is anyone else thinking about and KM/EA brute when GR roles around in 5 weeks or so? Or should I just given in to temptation and role an SS/EA latter this week? Any advice peeps. |
Power Siphon stacks up to 5 and boosts
The tier one powers are +25% damage buffers
Add Assault for an added +10% damage
Fury
My guess is that given the above damage buffs not much would be around long enough for the long casts of the tier 2 or 3 attack powers which do have extremely long casts.
I'm still on the fence between a DM/EA, DM/SR or KM/EA Brute build, hell SS/SR or SS/EA seems kinda sexy too.
My two cents.
Adding more points ->
Post was posted before KM was completely 'unvieled'. ie power descriptions and such.
Assault is not worth the endurance it uses for brutes.
The difference between 0% and 100% +damage is greater than the diference between 200% and 300% +damage.
Also, because brutes don't crit, they don't get the auto recharge of Power Siphon like Stalkers and Scrappers get.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
