  1. I will support the Shard being made co-op.
    Why? Simply put, it makes sense.

    Boomtown or DA being made co-op? Why? Whats so dar kand scary that villains wouldnt simply rip the places of for profit as normal?
    Shadow Shard? Oh, Helloooo dimension eater of doom and all powerful nastiness. THAT is something you go 'Yeah, truce' to, and team up to lay the smackdown on.

    Another reason? You try getting Rularuu weapons once you miss Technician Naylor's arc, and dont want to run Scirroco's arc. Its a real s*d I tell you.

    If you pick through the bones of the lore in the old zones, you'll find that someone was thinking about how and why things happened. For instance, there's Ingelbert Maahs, who became Igneous, the Magma Master, in the Cavern of Transcendence. There's the mysterious plot that led to The Hollowing, the questionable fate of Grendel, what I believe is the introduction of the Coralax long before CoV, and so on.

    However, the storytelling aspects of the game design were insufficiently developed prior to publication, with too much emphasis being placed on large blocks of text in the mouths of contacts and tucked away in clues. Players on a team could not easily share in the storytelling process. Instead of an adventure game, what developed was an emphasis upon almost arcade-like action.

    Now I think CoH has great action ... it's a strength of the game. But storytelling really should have been there too, and it's a shame the developers have looked the other way all these years and failed to improve upon that part of the gaming experience.

    If you feel inclined, give my architect missions a shot. We've got the same limitations in AE storytelling that we have in the rest of the game, but I've tried to use what leverage I could to tell story in a way intended to make the story more accessible for teams and - hopefully - a step or two closer to being more immersive.

    You can find my arcs listed under @Khonshu (different spelling from what I have as my forum name).
    Some of this seriously needs to be resurrected, especially Blueside.
    The Hollows is great, but it's still a half-told tale. It really doesn't explain about the Igneous (And don't talk to me about the Cavern Trial. That thing it horrible and punishing.)
    Faultline is a great example of a 'Finished' zone. It has the central plot; the fate of Faultline himself. And it makes you feel a Hero, for thwarting not just Arachnos but the Lost and Sky Raiders as well, AND you help uncover the truth.

    Blueside, in my opinion anyway, needs some serious story TLC. Redside has stories in spades. Blueside has some good ones. Some. And they aren't exactly intuitive to find, bar Hollows and Faultline.
    I'll harp on about it till my chassis rusts; a game needs to have a solid basis to have new shinies added onto. No solid core, then you can have all the shinies you want; it will still collpase. End of.

    Making it non-animated (I honestly didn't notice it was in the first place) as a standard belt would be nice...*shrug*

    That would be nice.
    Isn't the store run through the NC site anyway, and thus nothing really to do with the CoX site? As in, the CoX could be Icelandic for all it mattered, and the NC site would still charge you the right cash monies?
  5. Shame to see BattleWraith go, great art there.
    It does make my life easier on voting, though;

    1: Lousy Day - Superbly done, and very classical
    2: Clutch - Is it wrong that this picture has made me see Libby in a whole different way? ^^;
    3: Happy Dan - Nicely done, I just really like that style.
  6. Hmm...is it possible to get screen shot comparrisons of this? Not really quite sure how Bloom works (and im probably not alone =S )

    Merge...

    Hehe, I got you there, didn't I?

    Nope, this is nothing to do with the servers or server lists.
    This is to with the CityOf website. And how the EU and US side should be merged into one.

    'Why?' you ask? For one very simple reason.
    The US side is better than the EU one. It's laid out similar, yes. But it's also done better. Things like the 'Know your Enemy' lists are actually complete. Go look at the EU one. And then look at the US one. Heckuva difference.

    Is this a big deal? Well, kind of. When people first get into the game, and they go to look at the website to look around, it would be nice to have something that's, y'know, actually finished. Not half-done. So, put them together, and any updates or New notices that are 'US only' can be labelled so, and any that are 'EU only' can also be labelle so.

    Bonuses? Only one site to maintain, they might actually get the Server Status page to work properly, and the EU doesnt have to put up lower quality stuff. Again.

    Thats all.
  8. I hear that, man ^^ was in the same situation. Upgraded from a laptop that ran smooth on minimum to my current rig that noms Maximum like no tommorow.

    Lingering debris from exploding robots, signs that if you jump and hit they swing, spent shell casings, said casings flying everywhere when you hover over them due to downdraft...

    *breath*
    Leaves that do the same thing and bits of paper, better water effects, see through water and better effects in the sewers, better looking enemies and costume pieces..

    Lots and lots of stuff
  9. I like it. I actually like it a lot. The organisations with long histories that seem nigh unkillable are usually the best, especially as you discover them. The slow reveal to suddenly coming to the conclusion of just how much trouble you are for finding out about this lot

    The relationship with Malta...I've always raised an eyebrow to that. I always though they were completely seperate groups, until rather recently.
    It'd make more sense to have them be pretty much Arch-Rivals. The Knights of Malta were, after all, mostly all men and (possibly) fairly biased about it. (IRRC, anyway, dont blame me for a bad memory :P )

    So, have two quasi-merc groups working for pay and their own ideals, while also trying to gun down their rival group...I like the sound of it. A lot.

    Yeah, actaully...that's damn good. Kehe, great film that.

    Skipping back to Castillo, he actually reads/sounds more like...Oh, who the hell has a starched, WWI British Pilot accent?
    "I say! You there! Yes, you, chap! What's this on your jetpack? That, chap, is dirt. Dirt! Unacceptable! You will spend two hours cleaning it. And you can polish my pack while your at it. And if you so much as scratch it then I'll have your guts for garters!"

    Hmn....still can't think of any voices for canon characters >_<

    Of course we need quadrupedal skeletons in the game first. Catgirls would not be an acceptable substitute for actual kittens. Especially not the futa variety.

    Welcome back.
  13. I seriously hate the day/night cycle.
    Either;
    -Make it longer for both. Do away with mobs that 'only' spawn at night/day, and make them spawn in locations that make sense instead.

    ...Yeah, actaully. I'd rather just have that. Specific 'Only when-' stuff tends to suck horribly anyway. Like getting a mission to hunt, say, Hunt Longbow in Nerva, when ACTUALLY the damn thing wants you to hunt them specifically in the Longbow base.
    Leviathan SF, go to hell with those hunt mission...>_<

  15. Anyone else hoping that, at some point, they re-build the character rigs?
    No more club hands and feet, huzzah for more detailed hands with fingers, and back details, and stuff?

    New Capes

    Slightly off topic but, since someone mentioned Mirror Spirit;
    Go and take a look at her.
    I meant really take a look at her.

    Notice the level of detail. Notice the more realistic face. Notice the...well, the sheer incredible attention to detail in that model
    Statesman and the rest make me shrug. Mirror Spirit? Envious; I has it.
  17. Gwah! Three days of no net, and I finally get on here.
    I nearly spazzed out when I saw Vix in there! Heh, the poor girl would go even more red if she saw that
    Your a star Bun. And this stuff is incredible.
    Hmm....tempted to write up an article by The Chief (Chief Centurion Z1) to get a non-human view of Earth, or something.
    Sterling work!

    Oh, and for your information, No, they don't just auto-level toons for high level testing.

    And yes, DXP applies to both Test and Live servers which is what Avatea was referring to.
    Uh...Yes they do, actually.
    There were two level bumps during Pistols Closed. One to 38, and then another to 50.
    So, fail right there.They've pretty much done with Pistols testins, and it seems sound enough.

    To be honest, it'd be kinda of stupid to have a DXP on test. So, I'd bet about 98% on it being on live.

    Edit: Ah, I see a trail of humble pie Nvm

    New Set: DP

    MM is tasty. Hail + Shockwave is just plain rude, topping it off with Drain Psyche is just...yeah.

    Anything with Build Up is nice, really.
    And, bar maaaaybe the mez shot, there aren't really any powers that you would want to skip in it, since the Open patch. It's very, very shooty.
  22. Thinking about it, I'm not so mad about it. Angry wise, that is. Hell's, I'm still buying early and getting DP and DS unlocked

    It just kind of stinks that the box wont be in the UK/EU at all. I'm tired of never seeing CityOf on the shelves. I know they say marketting does do stuff, but I've never seen it. Nothing advertises a game better than having it sat on the shelf saying '6+ years and still kicking a$$ and taking names. And we STILL have bubblegum left.'

    Just to confirm, though, Avatea - pre-ordering the standalone ONLY gets us early access to the two powersets (Dual Pistols in March, Demon Summoning in April), not to Praetorian content and all the rest, correct?

    No, both of them are GR the expansion. But the Complete Collection is not available for pre-order, and thus does not have access to sets early.

    I still do not understand the logic behind it, myself...
  24. Sorry, but that is really, really...Stupid.
    Why not allow the complete edition for pre-order?

    And why in seven hells is Europe getting the shaft AGAIN when it comes to retail? It sucked when it came to Architect edition, and it sucks again now! What the heck, man? Not amused. Not amused at all.
  25. I think you mean these;

    No idea where the rest of the set came from, tbh.
    I still like the polearm set idea. Just not the wierd hybridisation.
